Comments regarding Rosy Dawn Gardens

This is my first experience with Rosy Dawn Gardens. I discovered them this spring while looking for a specific purple coleus (Glinda). They had the variety I was looking for plus a whole lot more. Their online store has a great selection in spring and is very easy to order from. The different coleus plants I purchased arrived very healthy looking, were very easy to transplant and have been thriving ever since. I am so pleased with my experience and look forward to buying more coleus from them!

If you are a coleus enthusiast /collectionist it is the N.1 website where you want to buy your plant. Apart from that, more in general it is a very good online plant store for different reasons:

1. It offer a large selection of very rare coleus cultivare almost impossibile to find anywhere else.
2.The shipping system allow the reduction of useless plastic
3. Plants are healthy
4. The cultivar sent is the true which I ordered

My only suggestion is to better improve the email system. As a family or small business the customer service is not as the same of big company, be aware of that, but they do get back to you eventually. All my European friends (coleus enthusiasts) literally envy me for the chance that I have to get whatever cultivar I want from Rosy Dawn Garden.

I bought two types of coleus. The Alligator Alley are great. Beautiful. Healthy. The Mainstream Sunset Boulevard are tiny and weak in color and general health. I am hoping for the best, that they survive. I wrote to the company with no response thus far.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING experience. First time I have ordered from Rosy Dawn. Each plant was large and vigorous and extremely well packed. The company emailed me a confirmation of the order, let me know when it was shipped, and gave me the USPS tracking number so that I was able to retrieve the package from the post office as soon as it arrived. Shipping was QUICK!!

As for the plants, there was no wilting whatsoever. I potted them up immediately and temporarily placed them under lights, and every one of them looks like it never took a long trip in a shipping box.

I was particularly thrilled to find the "Under the Sea" series, as they aren't often available locally, and truthfully, the ones I received from Rosy Dawn are MUCH bigger and healthier than any I've found in greenhouses.

My only regret is that I didn't order more plants! I will rectify that error next year.

Kudos to Rosy Dawn Gardens... I am THRILLED!

Received great plants, but had a problem. The customer service was great and the issue was resolved quickly.

I ordered 19 plants from Rosy Dawn. I contacted them several times, once to add on to my order, once to make a last minute switch, and once to notify them my order hadn't arrived on schedule (it arrived the next day). Each time, they responded quickly and were able to accommodate my additions, changes, etc. When the plants arrived, everything looked healthy, lots of foliage, and was well packed. I'm very happy with this order and would order from them again.

I have ordered coleus from Rosy Dawn Gardens for several years. I have always been happy with the health of the plants and the careful packaging. Last year I had a problem with some of my plants being mislabeled. They were labeled as the variety I ordered, but clearly were not the correct variety. I emailed the company and after a few weeks was issued a refund. Fine. But this year the same problem occurred again- some of the plants were mislabeled and not at all what they were supposed to be. I have emailed the company several times over the last several weeks and have gotten no response whatsoever. I will have to give up. I understand that mistakes happen, but when they won't even respond to me, I don't come back. I won't be ordering from them again.

This is my third year ordering from Rosy Dawn Gardens. Many years ago, I quit buying plants on line, because I was always disappointed, and sometimes outraged. But this company is SO different. They ship on exactly the date you ask for. Every plant is packed perfectly, with great care. Nothing ever arrives broken or in poor shape, or even "sad". The plants don't even need "reviving"! They grow like crazy (follow instructions!!) and look wonderful. I have a "show" garden in the Buffalo Garden Walk, and thousands of people come thru every summer, and I'm always happy to tell them where I get my coleus!

Again I must say WOW!! Love your company, love your Coleus, you rock!!

Wow! I wish Rosy Dawn sold everything. I ordered my coleus early this spring and received them last week. I thought that two looked a lot alike and when I double-checked, I realized that one couldn't be the right variety, although the stake had the right name. I emailed hoping for a refund and received a prompt response that they will ship the correct one! All the plants look good too! Thanks for great service.

This is the go-to place for great coleus plants. They have the best selection and deliver high quality plants that are ready to grow. I just received my third order from them, and the plants are beautiful.

I just received an order from Rosy Dawn Gardens. This is my third order from this company over a 4 or 5 year period. Every order I have received from them has been great. I am so happy to be able to find all my favorite coleus varieties here when my local nurseries only carry all the newest varieties. This year my very favorite variety 'India Frills' was not listed on their website, but when I called to inquire, I was told that it was in limited supply but they thought they could provide it for me. I was so happy to see two plants included with the others I had ordered.

This is the best plant order I have ever received, and the customer service was excellent. I ordered 13 coleus, and every one of them was very healthy because of the careful packaging. The labeling on each plant was exceptional, with a printed plant marker for each one. I would give them my highest rating.

Beautiful plants, beautifully packaged! I order from a lot of different online plant companies and I'm always interested in the packaging styles. My first order from Rosy Dawn just arrived and it's the best I have ever seen. Simple, effective and almost completely recyclable. The plants are healthy and large for the price.

Service is outstanding as well. I asked that the two orders I had placed during the winter be combined and delayed due to illness, and they had no problem with that. Bravo! Recommended without reservation.

I ordered ten plants from them of varying varieties of coleus. I received an email letting me know the plants were shipping and to keep an eye out. They arrived quickly and in great shape. The plants were bigger than I thought (I was thinking baby seedling size) these were about the size you'd get in any garden center in a flat or small transplant pot. Some of them are already 6". They all look great and seem quite healthy. I also like how there's just the root ball, it will make for a much easier and cleaner transplant. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good or unique coleus.

I have the same excellent experience from other reviewers. Wonderfully packaged plants, arrived fast and in great shape, clearly labeled, helpful communication from the vendor, very informative website. I am a coleus fan. Will definitely order from them again. Highly recommend it.

I ordered 10 coleus from RDG and I potted up my plants and they look teriffic. The plants were shipped in individual tubes inside a box padded with crushed paper. These folk know what they are doing. This was my first order from them and I will order again in the future.

I am totaly delighted.
The plants came in simple, secure, safe wrap ,and moist.
There was even a bonus plant or two.
I like that kind of customer care.
I will definatly order next year.

Very pleased!! Pre-sales questions answered by helpful co-owner. E-mail notification that my plants had shipped, told when to expect them, and told to notify the PO and Rosy Dawn if they did not arrive by then. Received beautiful plants on schedule, carefully wrapped. Excellent company!

Just plain wonderful,all plants received in perfect condition. Coleus are great in size and quality and will definitively do more bussiness with them! Also received a great looking bonus plant. Outstanding service !

I lived in Michigan for most of my life, and had never heard of RDG, until the last 6 months (after doing some research on Coleus), and coming across their web site my interest really peaked after my wife bought a coleus home last year, it was absolutely beautiful, couldn't tell you the name. But none the less, I am totally enthralled with all of them. Received my shipment today, arrived in flawless condition, can't wait to get them growing. Excellent company will definitely be doing business again. Trying to decide on your choice coleus is next to impossible. Got a bonus Handy Andy, and trying to find the particulars on it, with no success. I tip my hat to RDG. They really take pride in their product.

These people really know what they're doing.

All the plants I received were very healthy and of the optimum size for planting. The careful packaging must have taken considerable time as each plant had it's rootball wrapped in such a way that none of the tiny leaves at the base were damaged, yet the rootball itself was completely secure. Each plant was also encased in a cardboard tube that prevented any damage to the larger leaves.

I also received two bonus plants that were obviously chosen to compliment my other selections. I'm very impressed with the quality of the plants and the care they take in shipping their plants. Highly recommended and will definitely order from them again.

I placed a fairly large order last spring and was extremely pleased with the plants and packaging. I followed their instructions and every plant is now HUGE. I just brought them inside a few weeks ago and now have a beautiful display of coleus plants in my bay window for the upcoming winter. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

My ONLY complaint with Rosy Dawn is that they aren't open year round.

Everything everyone has said is true. I have ordered from Rosy Dawn for a few years now and they are outstanding. Their selection of Coleus is amazing and the only tough part is trying to narrow down your choices. You want Coleus? Look no further.

This my first time to order from Rosy Dawn. Wow! The plants are perfect and nicely sized. If they grow nearly as well as they were shipped, they will grow to the size of of Jack's Beanstalk :o)

I received my first order with RDG yesterday and was very happy with the quality of the plants and how well they had been prepared for shipping. As other people have attested, this is an excellent nursery all-around. With excellent customer service, good communication, high quality plants, a wide selection of cultivars, and fair prices I would definitely recommend purchasing your coleus plants from RDG.

My order arrived a few days ago... wonderful shipping... plants arrived rolled up in corrugated cardboard... today they look like they were never packed up and shipped.. This is the first mail order plant shipment I received out of many many orders from other companies... that rebounded so quickly after shipping... wish I could post a picture to show you how great these plants look...

I've been ordering from Rosy Dawn for several years, they are fantastic people to work with, and will bend over backwards to make sure that you are satisfied.

My first order from this company via DG coleus coop. Got the plants on the date I requested. They were big, beautiful and superbly packaged. I will definitely order from them again and would highly recommend their plants to anyone.

Just received my coleus yesterday. What a great company, the plants were healthy and packaged well. None were damaged in shipping or as I unpacked them. Great company.

This is the first company I've encountered that lets you CHOOSE your shipping date! Wow! I chose the earliest available date, which was 6 days from the day I placed the order. My plants arrived right on time, they were in beautiful shape, and they sent an additional 3 'bonus' plants in addition to the 6 I purchased. I highly recommend this company.

My coleus arrived on 1 April 09--one day after shipment!!

I cannot rave enough at the superior quality of the plants and the way they were packaged. Every plant was meticulously wrapped, an outward sign of pride, patience, and TLC.
