Comments regarding Rosy Dawn Gardens

I just started trying to grow coleus, and just got my first order from Rosy Dawn. Wow, are they great! Well established, branched plants packaged so well not a leaf was damaged. They shipped on Sat. and were in FL by Monday. RDG has gotten me off to a great start, and I hope to be adding more varieties from them each year. They even threw in a bonus plant, thoughtlfully color matched to my purchase. This felt like real personal care, especially appreciated since mine was such a small order (1 ea. of 4 types.) WOW what a great place. I ordered over $100.00 worth of Coleus plants and every one was healthy and beautiful. The way they wrap and ship the plants is unbelievable. It must take a very long time to do so. I am soooo impressed with this place. I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!! Fantastic plants!!!!!

This was the first time I've ordered from Rosy Dawn. Here's what I said to them in my thank you note (I don't usually send thank-you notes to vendors!).

I just received my order, and can't tell you how pleased I am. Now I know what all the Dave's Gardeners were talking about when they raved about Rosy Dawn. And thank you, too, for the lovely Purple Emperor you added as a bonus! I have been ordering coleus from Rosy Dawn for about 5 years. Got my shipment today and all 12 or so varieties were lush and healthy and gorgeous and carefully packaged as usual. They are small but that doesn't make a difference with coleus being as they grow so fast.

This is an excellent company all around. They have a huge selection & the web site has been updated - very easy to use with great pictures.

I've been ordering plants for about 25 years and this company is one of my top 5 all time favorites.

Everything Hemhostaholic said is true. Fantastic packaging, great plants and not a single leaf missing while it made it's way from Michigan to NY. Excellent plants, delivery as promised. I'd definitely do business with them again and again.

I found this company through a search engine as I was looking for a specific coleus. I was a bit concerned about ordering from a company that I had never done business with nor ever heard of............

I was so pleased when the plants arrived. They were packed very well and looked almost fresh when taken out of the packaging. I repotted them into small individual 4" pots (to let the root balls expand), watered them and put them in a shady spot and with one to two days, the plants looked like they had never been shipped or anything!

I will definitely order from this company again......most certainly one of the best mail orders that I have ever received (and trust me, I have received a lot of them over the years from a lot of different companies!!!)

All of the coleus came individually wrapped. So much care was taken for their shipping! Unwrapping each coleus was like christmas all over!
The size of the coleus is amazing! Hands down cheaper, better looking, and more healthy than the "specialty" coleus I can get locally at nurseries/garden centers!

Just got my shipment of coleus from Rosy Dawn, and the plants were in superb shape. The packaging was simple but perfectly designed to protect the plants during shipping.

The coleus arrived in excellent shape--their little root balls were glorious. They were planted immediately and the next day they'd spread out and were ready to go.

Last year I ordered a selection of several color/sizes/shapes of coleus. Each one grew into colorful plants that I was proud to show off. Their web page is great for making selections and combinations. Nice pictures and descriptions as well.

The plants all arrived according to the dates requested. Each was very well packaged for shipping.

I doubled the size the order I placed with them for this year, and I can't wait till they arrive.

I ordered 3 plants that came in perfect condition. They also sent me a very nice bonus plant. I highly rate these folks and think you would be pleased with your order. Unlike some mail order companies these people clearly care about quality and customer satisfaction!

My plants came exactly when scheduled and are the plants I ordered, plus a bonus plant. All plants were very well packaged and in good shape. They are small, but seem very healthy and have been growing well in my garden for a couple of months. Will definitely order again.

This was my first time to order from Rosy Dawn but I'm sure it won't be my last. The order arrived recently after having spent 5 days in shipment and the plants were a little stressed. I was concerned about one of them because it really looked the worse for wear. After contacting the company, I was assured they would replace if necessary. Received 18 beautifully- rooted coleus plants today! Shipped in cardboard sleeves and not one broken leaf. This is my second year to buy plants from this great company. Will continue to be a customer.

I googled "coleus" and found the Rosy Dawn website. I was blown away by their selection and their tips on good plant combinations. Garden watchdog had good reports, so I ordered several different coleus plants. Just received my first order from Rosy Dawn Gardens and am thrilled! They offer an extraordinary variety of coleus, nicely labelled plants arrived on the specified date, packed well, great root systems and absolutely no damage. Did I mention they sent two bonus plants? I have already passed along the name of this vendor to friends and I will definitely order from them again!

I believe that the quality and size of their mail order coleus have actually improved. All arrived in excellent shape to Northern New England. The foliage was healthy and lush on rooted cuttings in a root ball about the size of a spool of thread. Each was wrapped and taped into cardboard tubes. We'll pot these up in 1/2 gallon containers and grow them on in the greenhouse before planting out into the landscape in June.

I received my order about a week ago and was thrilled with the quality! They arrived just when they said they would and were in perfect condition. They are wrapped in corrugated paper sleeves and this seems to be the perfect method- there wasn't a broken leaf to be found! They have been potted up and are waiting to go in the ground. Can't recommend this company enough! A++

This was my first order with Rosy Dawn. They actually let you choose a ship date for your order! I choose April 2 and the order arrived April 2! It doesnt get better than that. The plants were very well packaged and labeled in corrugated sleeves to cut down on shipping. Perfect! I get to order extra plants instead of paying high shipping costs. An ingenious system! The plants stay damage free during shipping and mine were healthy and well rooted. I even received a bonus plant! You can tell this business has a very personal and professional attitude toward their plant material and customers and I am getting ready to order again. They are at the top of my list!

I made my first online coleus order with Rosy Dawn, and it has been a positive experience. My plants arrived in great condition and I just love all the colorful cultivars. I received every one that I ordered--no substitutions were necessary. I was notified that they had been shipped via email prior to receipt--they shipped on a Saturday and I got them on Tuesday. The plants were packed in round protective card board cylinders and I received a bonus plant too. I will definately order from them again.

March 2007 was the first time I ordered from Rosy Dawn Gardens. I was thrilled with the plants and service I received. My order was shipped on the date I requested. I also received an email from the company giving me a 'heads up' that my order had been shipped so that I wouldn't let my plants sit out in the heat or cold.
My plants look wonderful, and I also received a gorgeous bonus plant. I will definitely order from them again!

I ordered twice this season from Rosy Dawn Gardens. While I am still waiting for my second order (I put in the order last night and it has already been shipped today), I would like to say that this is a great company to work with. Their plants are beautiful and wrapped so well that they arrive healthy- no breakage and no wilting. They promptly fill and confirm orders, and ship quickly. And with my first order, they kindly included a bonus plant.

Each plant was labelled and carefully wrapped in a corrugated sleeve, and the soil plug was plastic-wrapped so shipment trauma was minimized! Placed an large coleus order, had a prompt confirmation by e-mail, then very helpful communication with customer service, and today (exactly at the date requested) my plants arrived! They are in perfect condition, large, healthy, very cleverly packed so nothing got damaged, and nicely labeled. ok...so i'm thinking when i placed the order, by the way this company is describing their plants, that they were going to be "cuttings". i order 50... that's RIGHT! 50 "cuttings, and requested that they send them in april since that will give me 4 to 5 weeks to make a few more "cuttings'..... so yesterday i get home and there is this very large box from them......

I COULD NOT BELEIVE ME EYES! ( i KNOW some must be over 18" high) OMG! what do i do with these huge, gorgeous, the BEST i have even seen coleus??? i haven't even seen this nice of plants at any local nursery, no less a "internet" order company! they package the plants perfectly. NOT one broken plant in all the 50!

well, i just got finished putting them in nice 4 inch pots, which some had to squeeze into. i put them in my little greenhouse and they are so happy........and so am i!!

i would not hesitate one ny minute to order again and again. you can purchase with absolute confidence. you WILL NOT be disappointed.

ps....i also got an "extra" plant also...and in my case...what was the company worried that one wasn't over a foot tall???

Received my first order yesterday. All were healthy, large, well packed. The info sheet included stated their policy of sending a "bonus" plant when they feel one of the ordered plants they ship is undersized. I guess my bonus plant was to compensate for the one they shipped that was only 5" tall! I'm used to starting plants from a leaf cutting, so 5" is well established to me. They have another happy customer.

Great protection for the plants yet easy to unpack *and* easy to clean up - unbeatable.
