If you don't mind a partial order for a full payment, this is the company for you. Don't let the bible verses fool you, they do not conduct business in a Christian like manner.

THEY SIMPLY IGNORE THEIR EMAILS AND DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE.

DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS TO A 'CHRISTIAN' BASIS FOR THEIR FAMILY BUSINESS, THEY ARE UNRELIABLE AND HAVE WELL DESERVED THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS MADE ABOUT THEM TO THE BBB, WHICH RATES THIS COMPANY AN 'F.' Right after I placed my order with Heirloom Acres, I came across two web sites with horrible feedback on this company. I did not have time to deal with slow shipping of poor germination rates so I panicked and canceled my order. It took about four days for them to acknowledge my cancellation request, however; they did issue a refund to my bank card. I will never know if they would have shipped in a timely manner or if the seeds would have germinated well. I do know , as far as customer service is concerned, they did me right.

He told me that I shouldn't have emailed them, because they just get too many emails to read! Seriously? They are a business and can't read emails?
Secondly, they checked to see where in transit my seeds may be AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN SENT!!!
I ONLY went to this company because Baker's Creek were out of pickling cucumbers that I had ordered weeks before(rabbits ate my originals).
I will NEVER do business with this company again! And would NEVER recommend them to anyone!

i ordered seeds from them with much trepidation, due to former problems with their shipping and communications. i ordered may 18, with a note that as i had lost my beans to a late frost, i needed the seeds ASAP. (they indicate that they wanted to know when you needed seeds by)
i emailed them on may 28 to ask where my order was, as i had paid them by paypal and i knew they had received their payment.
i received no reply at all from heirloom acres (i do realize it was over the holiday weekend so i waited a day or so after)
on june 3 i opened up a communication with paypal.
that apparently got heirloom acres attention.
they responded and shipped the next day

i will never again be so foolish as to do business with them. which is a shame as they have a good seed list.
since then i found everything i had ordered from them at other seed vendors and intend using these professionals in the future.
i can't be worried about a seed order, there is enough other things in life to deal with

Shipping is very very slow, but all seeds arrived in time for planting season. If you know that, allow extra time for shipping.

Germination on mortgage lifter tomatoes 30 %. Germination extremely slow, plants are weak and very slow growing. I suspect old seed, since I've never heard anyone call mortgage lifter a delicate finicky plant.

Germination on pepper seeds 30%, plants are fine and strong.

Germination on Baby Bear pumpkins 100%, plants are strong.

Germination on sugar baby pumpkins 60%. Germination slow plants are very delicate. I lost about 1/2 of them after they were up.

It's not me. My germination on peppers from another source is 100%. Tomatoes from other sources are 100% on almost all of them. Very rarely perhaps 1 seed won't germinate.

I'm germinating on a heat mat with a thermostat, plus a soil thermometer that is checked multiple times per day. Grow light is used as soon as seedlings sprout. I'm not just throwing seeds into the garden and forgetting about them, then not understanding why I don't get plants.

I placed a fairly large order ($50) with this company on March 24. (Wednesday) I figured that since their website stated that "orders are fullfilled in 2 weeks", this would be plenty of time for me to get my starts ready for spring.

On March 30, (Tuesday) I sent them an e-mail requesting when my seeds would be shipped. No response.

On April 8th (Thursday of the next week) I sent them another e-mail inquiring about the status of my order. No response.

Note that during this time I was communicating with another company from who I order tomatoes. I placed that order the same day. They replied to my e-mail on the 30th, and I received my seeds on April 5th. Those seeds are now seedlings, and will be ready for mother's day planting.

I called numerous times during this period, but the phone just rings and rings with no answering machine and no response.

On the morning of April 10th (Saturday) I managed to get somebody by phone who told me the orders from the 24th were packed and would be sent on Monday (April 12) via either USPS or UPS. I complained that it had been 2 and a half weeks, and suggested they place an order hold on their website if they were not able to keep up with orders, or at the very least modify their site to state a 4 week fullfillment time. She said sorry and that I should have my seeds within a week.

On April 16th (Friday of the following week) I disputed the charges on PayPal and wrote them a note in the resolution center. There has been no response.

It is now April 19 (over a week after I've spoken to their rep) and there is still no sign of my seeds or onion sets. If they had gone out Monday as promised, they would be here by now. My window for planting is evaporating, and I am now in a make or break situation where I either need my seeds or I need to go buy what I can find from a local retailer to save my season for some of the items.

While I understand the limitations to a family run company, I feel the lack of response to repeat requests, failure to notify of shipping date, and lying to me about when my item would ship are all huge mistakes. I'm hoping my order arrives in 2 days (four weeks after I placed it). Otherwise I plan to place a escalate my PayPal dispute to a claim and use the money to try and salvage my season from what I can buy locally. This is the first and last time I buy from this company. The lack of response to customer care issues is their biggest fault. I could deal with a slow ship time if they had simply told me that back when I ordered or when I asked about it after I placed my order. That way I could have bought the items that needed starting, and I wouldn't be in a no-mans-land of waiting and wondering.

I would say do not buy from this company. They have a great selection and wonderful prices, but clearly they have serious problems with order fulfillment and customer care. I wish I had read the reviews before I wasted 4 weeks of prime planting time. If you are tempted by their selection and prices, at the very least use PayPal so that you can get your money back if they do not send your order in a reasonable period.

On April 26th, 2010, LunarGarden added the following:

Update 4/26. After escalating my PayPal dispute to a claim on the 21st of this month, heirloom acres seeds mailed my order, minus 1 item and with 1 item in the wrong (short) quantity, on the 24th via Priority Mail. Clearly this is a company where only money talks. As I've missed the season for many of the items ordered, I'm now going to have a "not as described" claim with them instead of an "order not received" claim. I'm still frustrated and wishing I had never ordered from this company.
On May 3rd, 2010, LunarGarden added the following:

PayPal has denied my claim since I did not buy this item through eBay and the seller provided them with a tracking number. I now consider it a very expensive mistake, and hope that their seeds will store for possible planting next spring.

I still have not received a refund after numerous emails and a claim through paypal. Its a shame since the seed descriptions sounded good. I spent a lot of time picking out seed on their site and now I can't get a refund.

MIXED EXPERIENCES. Previous Orders (pre 2007) Were WONDERFUL Experiences. Current order in 2008 - slow & no responses to my enquiries!

Have ordered from Heirloom Acres in the past with GREAT experiences! Good Communications & a level of honesty that is rarely seen - they refunded the overage on the shipping charges applied by PayPal.
I was impressed & have returned to them one other tieme since with a 2nd great experience, even though I was late ordering they still got the seeds to me likity split & in plenty of time!

I placed my current & 3rd order back on May 2nd & paid for it via PayPal. Other then the PayPal Receipt for payment I have heard NOTHING about this order.
Now they indicated on their website that presently order processing was taking 14-days, so if you needed your order sooner, to please let them know when you needed it by & they would do their very best to accomidate. I indicated May 20th ---- more then 14-days later.
To date, nothing heard & nothing received. I have e-mailed twice to enquire about my order, at least confirm they were working on it, & just faxed them an enquiry indicating that on day 31 if I had not heard from them or received the order that I would dispute the charge with VISA & with PayPal.
HOPE TO HEAR FROM THEM SOON. Already figuring the seeds & costs will be wasted for this year unless they arrive within the next week!

Really hate to see such good quality & service oriented heirloom suppliers dropping the speed-of-service & good communications. Quality goes much much deeper then simply the product - - Quality Service & Customer Care is just as important as the product!
Heirloom Acres use to know & exhibit that in their business..... hopefully the past year has just been a fluke for them & they will soon be back on track!

On May 22nd, 2008, HeritageFarm added the following:

After getting my fax letter enquiring about my order & threatening to file a complaint with PayPal and dispute the charge on my VISA, Heirloom Acres finally responded - appologizing for not having taken the time to respond to my e-mails (they were out "working in the field").

In a voice mail they left me yesterday afternoon they say:
The Order Is "Boxxed And Ready To Go".
The Order Will Be Shipped "Priority In The Morning" (this morning).
Sorry For The Delay, The PayPal Notice "Never Came Thru".

A bit concerned about the PayPal issue as I got immediate confirmation & e-mail receipt of the payment & order thru PayPal almost instantaniously. I will be asking PayPal to check into this matter to ensure the merchant was sent notice as I am certain they were.
We'll watch for the package & see if in fact they did send it Priority this morning as promised & hopefully will find everything in good order, well packed, & as ordered.

I'm for giving this company a 2nd chance, 1 bad expereince out 3 orders deserves an opportunity for them to have another chance in my book.
On May 28th, 2008, HeritageFarm added the following:

Received my order via UPS yesterday evening.
Everything was in good order except a substitution of a White Popcorn for the Yellow Popcorn ordered - no problem for me, though the client that contracted with me wanted a yellow popcorn. The contract (which wasn't placed until May 1st) has been cancelled as a result meaning I lost money due to the substitution.
3 Items are on back-order. ALL 3 are 90+ days to harvest so even if shipped next week they will be worthless to me.

BACK-ORDERS: Federal Law requires merchants to advise customers of expected ship dates & offer the opportunity to the customer to cancel the back-ordered items. Then about every 45 to 60 days the same notice has to be provided again.
Heirloom Acres did not provide expected ship date info, just "back orderd". I'm going to e-mail them & tell them to cancel the 3 items & refund the money. We'll see how that goes.
Being that this order was placed late (May 2) & apperantly was delayed due to PayPal (per the merchant), I'll give them another chance the next time I have a client wanting me to grow varieties offered by Heirloom Acres.
On June 1st, 2008, HeritageFarm changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:

MAJOR COMMUNICATIONS ISSUES!! Seems they only respond if you indicate your intent to file a claim against them with your credit card company!
(PayPal is much easier & quicker then your bank to get reimbursed if they fail to ship the merchandise in a reasonable amount of time & won't refund your money).

I requested the backordered items on my order be cancelled & the funds charged be refunded "immediately".
3 days later there had been no refund via PayPal nor had I received even an acknowlegement of my request.

I made a 2nd request.

I also faxed a 3rd request stating that the items on backorder would be a waste as the growing season was in full swing & rapidly getting shorter - too short for the time frame required by those specific seeds.
I also stated that they had 5 business days from the 1st request to issue me a complete refund of the 3 backordered items + the 15% shipping that they had charged me or I would file a complaint & a claim with Paypal as well as dispute the charge with VISA. A claim with VISA would as well cost them the interest that had accumilated since the original charge due to "merchandise charged not being received".
The next day PayPal received the refund minus the shipping!

The two & ONLY two times this year that they have responded to my enquiries has been when I have faxed threats to them stating I would file a claim with PayPal & VISA.
Seems they don't care about ratings or posts on this site or other sites - they don't even care enough about the customer to respond to enquiries.
It appears they only listen to the almighty $$$ & when that is threatened by potential claims against them they respond very quickly - & that's the only time they have responded to my equiries!!

BIG MISTAKE!

The day after I placed the order, I gat a phone call from someone at Heirloom Acres Seeds advising me that the majority of my order would ship by the end of the week though a few items would not be available until December so they would ship seperately.

GREAT! WONDERFUL! I RECEIVED UNSOLICITED COMMUNNICATION FROM HEIRLOOM ACRES SEEDS!
WONDERFUL SERVICE!

21-days later the seeds still had not arrived. I e-mailed & they responded a couple of days later with an appology, seems their daughter was sick in a hospital 2-hrs away for the past 3-weeks.
That's fine, I can understand that..... however they did not communicate that to me nor did they ship when they said they would --- leaving the customer seriously questioning what was going on.

They sent me an e-mail saying my seeds would ship "tommorow".
Then I got an e-mail from FedEx saying they had received the shipping info (not the actual package).
It was several more business days (like 3) before FedEx actually received the package from Heirloom Acres Seeds. So the actual shipping time of the package turned into almost 2-weeks!

Still have a few items on backorder which I have already paid for.
If they don't arrive by the end of December I'll notify the bank that my CC has charges on it for merchandise not received & let them deal with Heirloom Acres Seeds & reecover my $$$.

My days of dealing with Heirloom Acres Seeds have come to an end .... Cheap cheap prices though you tend to get what you pay for! ZERO SERVICE!
On December 30th, 2008, HeritageFarm added the following:

STEER CLEAR!
STAY AWAY!
DO NOT TRUST THEM IF YOU ARE DEPENDANT ON WHAT YOU ORDER FROM THEM!

Multiple broken promises! They promise shipping on specific dates & a refund for unavabale items 10 days after that date, no shipment made & no refund made either!

How can anyone who conducts business do such a poor job of it & still stay in business?
Their poor business & their many broken promises has tarnished my reputation so badly I don't know if my business will ever recover! If it doesn't, you can bet there will be legal action to recover my damages.

My reccomendation?..... DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MERCHANT!

I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in my state & in their state!
I believe all potential customers should have every opportunity to understand what to expect & who they are dealing with!
On April 7th, 2010, HeritageFarm added the following:

It took until April 2009 for me to get a refund on the items this place failed to ship from my order of Nov 2008. Then the refund came only after a formal notice of intent ot file civil action was sent to them.

2009-2010 Seed order was placed thru //www.morgancountyseeds.com/
They say on their website that orders may be a bit slow .... my order, 100% complete, was shipped 5 days after placing it!
THAT, my friends, is what I expect when I place seed orders in November, December, & January!

Backorder not a problem for me as long as I get them before the March 1st planting. No ETA given, per usual.

Packaged in a bubble wrap envelope, the arrived seeds all look viable.
Have ordered with Heirloom Acres before and not noticed a germination problem.

I have ordered numerous times from Heirloom Acres and never had any problem with getting orders in a timely manner until last fall. I originally thought receiving my Fall order after weeks of waiting. But now after reading all of the comments and waiting for the rest of my Spring order I am not so sure. I placed my Spring order February 15th with the Pay Pal payment clearing on the 18th. I emailed them 2 weeks later when I still hadn't received a confirmation just like with my Fall order and I was worried that it had dropped from their system just like my fall order so I emailed them and waited for a response. After 3 days with no response I emailed them again. That time I received a very nice email from Renate stating that they were really busy and it was taking 2 weeks for orders to go out, I didn't point out that it had already been 2 weeks. I waited another 2 weeks for my order, after not receiving anything from them I emailed them again on March 16th, when I returned home there was my order in the mailbox. After checking my order I realized that there were a few items that had been backordered, another that doesn't ship until Spring, and one that didn't specify why it wasn't sent. I figured that since I had just sent them an email, surely someone would email back to say my order had shipped and then I could ask when to expect everything else. Of course I still haven't received a response so I had to email them again on the 24th because I wanted to try and catch them before they shipped the remainder of my order to see if I could just place an order for plant labels, pay the shipping on those and have everything shipped together but I still haven't receive a response, so they must not want to sell me anything else. I hate giving them a negative comment because they used to be a great company to deal with, I realize that they grew very fast and have some family issues but it is very sad that they have allowed those things to affect their business so badly. I really hope they can get their things straightened out because I used to really enjoy ordering from them.

Sorry, folks, but I'm posting a negative on this company-- one I have done business with for several years. I've had a backorder with them since the first week of April that still isn't cleared and a promise for replacement seed (wrong item sent) since the same week. I've sent an email every week for the past month with no response. If this is how they treat a good customer, I can't imagine how they treat a poor one. It's only $18, but that could be credited in a matter of minutes-- just DO IT!!

BTW, if you're ordering your seeds in April and thinking you're going to get them within a week, you must be dreaming. That kind of service happens in January and up to the 15th of February. After that, expect 2 to 4 weeks for delivery from ANY seed company. Read Johnny's disclaimers, for example-- and they're one of the best.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

My experience mirrors that of the other posters here with a negative rating for Heirloom Acres. They do not practice good business and ignore customer service requests.

I ordered from them and received no indication that anything was being processed--other than that they had speedily taken my money. I then had to email twice (both of which were ignored) and call just to get an order update. The order arrived partially filled, though they had accepted my payment for a full order.

Given that it was much too late to plant the seeds that were backordered, I requested a refund for what they didn't ship. This took 2 emails (ignored) and 3 phone calls--and two months later, they have yet to refund my money.

I've put in a complaint with the Missouri Better Business Bureau, which the company has also ignored.

These folks are struggling from too much business and I personally think they are a bit out of bounds to continue to take money when they can not supply their customers within a reasonable shipping timeframe or even comply with the worst case of 2 weeks as stated on their site. Families are depending on gardens this year and every week that goes by with no seeds is a loss of food and resources. I finally got my seeds after nearly 3 weeks. After three emails and several dozen calls (that all resulted in busy signals or a silly answering machine that said "answer off" and hung up) I finally got someone on the phone by calling early Saturday morning.

She was direct but cordial and told me they were running 4 weeks on shipping. I was as polite as possible but I did suggest they edit their website to let ppl know they were running 4 weeks instead of the questionable statement that delivery was "rarely longer than two weeks"

Within five days of my call, I received most of what i ordered but did not get a few of the seeds. It was stated that they were back ordered or "credited", although I have not confirmed any credit.

Their seeds look good and they did express mail them, however these ppl are apparently just understaffed for the volume they have. I think buyers expect to get seeds faster than 3 or 4 weeks.

Very frustrating not to be able to easily communicate with them and that only adds to fear and speculation.

Bottom line: order from someone else unless you can handle a lengthy delivery cycle. Heirloom acres....my advice to you is to communicate better with your buyers.

Read many of the comments here 4/24 and started getting anxious about my order, tried calling directly, got busy signal. Tried calling again this AM 4/27 and busy again.

I have initiated a dispute with PayPal and they have not responded to my charges via PayPal. I don't know if that will help me get a refund or not, I have never had to do this before with a vendor.

Needless to say, I am not pleased with how they are "running" their business. Maybe they grew to fast? Maybe they have other family issues going on right now? They should have stopped taking peoples' money if they couldn't send out what people have paid for!!

Think I know why you buyers are having problem with Heirloom Acres Seeds.

As an old retired farmer from the south part of Mo. and now enjoy gardening, and visit Daves Garden

site almost daily and also read Daves Watchdog site and keep seeing all the negative feedback

from buyers about Heirloom Acres Seeds. I thought I just have to take a look at this companys site so I

pulled up thier web site and thought what a beautiful setting, beautiful big red barn in the back ground of a family

photo of a family with a story of thier kids learning values, and all the bible quotes, WOW!

Was getting ready to taking a trip up to north Missouri any way so just decided to take a different route and take a look

at the beautiful country side and see this company with so much negative feedback. After getting a Mo. map, printed off

the info from their web site along with the photos, names and location

took off on a side trip going up Hwy 54 for a change just to take a look. It was a lovely trip up through the Lake Of The Ozarks

and New Bloomfield, Mo. was easy to find, it’s a nice little town of just under 600 people ,

all of which were very friendly and INFORMATIVE! They directed us out

of town about 4 miles where we were looking for that pretty red barn and the fields

of Heirloom Acres. Did think it was strange there was no other large farms around and no large barns.

It was a beautiful day but after driveing around and not finding the business or a sign, decided to ask some of the

people working in their yard in the area so stopped and inquired again where we might find Heirloom Acres Seeds.

The area people were happy to point out the old building about a block away. Cant be Heirloom Acres Seed Co, look

at this info from the internet! Look at that red barn and there is the family. Yes that the Kirks and Yes that the seed co.

That pretty red barn shown in their ad, NOT, in fact it is a small, very run down old building which the people said at one

time was an old church built in the 1800’s with a Porta Potty out back setting on maybe [?] an

acre of land and an old junker pick up truck parked beside it.

THAT CAN'T BE IT, where is the beautiful red barn and all the fields that grows all those many seeds.

Again continueing to question the neighhood people, IF they were SURE that was Heirloom Acres Seed Co

they assured us it was. Seems some of the neighborhood kids work there after school packaging seeds along with

their own 4 young girls they are teaching "values". So have to accept the fact that the people know where thier kids

work after school.

There is no big red barn and there is no fields they work in, just sounded like a lot of children

trying to keep up with all those orders. Could be why the people are having problems getting thier orders.

What an interesting day, and what a lesson learned, but was well worth the detour.

Just shows that anyone can make an internet site look great.

Wonder where all those “heirloom” seeds do come from?
