I've ordered over $1000 worth of plants and seeds for the 2019/2020. Most online. Only once did I not receive something as promised from Burpee. I decided to try Park Seed company and I also placed 3 other orders for other companies online at the same time on Jan. 6th. Of the 3 companies, this was the last order to arrive. When it did arrive, 1 seed packet was not included. This must be a mistake and I recounted and reviewed all the see packets. Yes, one was missed and also one was to be shipped at a later time. I called the company first thing the next morning and reported my findings. Lady asked me to review it another time as it was shipped. I had to stand my ground and say it wasn't shipped. There definitely was one item missing. Thankfully after confidently standing behind my findings, she entered it to be shipped again. Hopefully I receive that packet soon.

I ordered a bareroot persimmon tree from Park Seed. I expected that it would grow given the proper care, but it never even leafed out. Park Seed refused to make any adjustments. Their guarantee states "Please understand that we cannot accept responsibility for the results of extreme weather, neglect, unforeseeable acts of nature, or ignoring our hardiness zone recommendation." I would understand their refusal if the tree had died due to winter kill, but our weather has been lovely, and entirely above freezing, since I received the tree. As such, I believe that their guarantee is misleading. Please be warned that Park Seed does not guarantee any plant that is ordered outside of their recommended hardiness zone, period.

I would like to thank Angela Davenport for her assistance. She kindly saw to it that I was issued a full refund for the tree.

I've been ordering from parks for a few years now, but only seeds. This year i decided to try plants. I ordered tomato plants on 2 occasions and they arrived in very poor condition both times. I emailed them the first time and never got a response. I gave them another shot hoping it was just a fluke. The next set of tomato plants also arrived in bad shape, but this time i was able to nurse a few back to life. I ordered 2 white peach trees and a 6 pack of pepper plants on my last order. The peppers arrived in good shape and continue to do well. The peaches arrived very beat up with nothing on the roots to keep them moist. Most of the buds were heavily damaged. I planted the peach trees anyway to see if they could bounce back. After all of this I will keep ordering seeds from parks but I think I'm done with their plants and trees.

The good: On April 21 I ordered 3 Rozanne Geraniums and 3 packets of seeds. The geraniums came quickly and though they were packaged pretty well with shredded paper, they just are not tough plants and were a bit broken up. They have survived though and 2 out of 3 are doing really well. The third will make it, but only has one leaf. The price was very good for this patented hybrid and I kind of wish I had ordered more.

The bad: I have been waiting, waiting, and waiting for the 3 packets of seeds to ship that were ordered at the same time. I FINALLY got a notice that they are shipping 2 days ago (May 16), though the tracking link isn't working, so I don't know if they have actually shipped. This is really annoying. The seeds are going to arrive after our last frost date, and maybe that was their intention? If so, I wish they would give an option to ship immediately because I was planning to start them in a greenhouse with other plants and put them out as seedlings after the last frost date. Now I've lost a whole month of growth and that's a real bummer, not to mention that it has been an incredibly warm spring and we haven't had a frost in 6 weeks.

I'm not really sure that I will order from them again, though it seems they can have some deals that can be worth the gamble.

I have probably ordered $75+ worth of products from these guys over the year, and I can say for sure that their products are the bare minimum. The first thing I bought was one packet of Gay Butterfly Weed and two Orange Milkweed. I never saw one sprout from the Gay, and only one, measly orange milkweed ever grew. I eventually dug it out and threw it away, since I had bought other Orange Milkweed from a local nursery - three that looked much healthier and I even collected from its seed pods (so I’ll never have to buy orange milkweed again!).

There were a few things in the middle. I had attempted to grow the next seeds inside, following the instructions properly and giving good care to them under a UV light. While other seeds were strong (seeds from other sellers, of course), the ones from Park Seed struggled and eventually died. I even bought some of the Jiffy Pots from them, which I ended up hating… a lot. It created a moldy environment and had no way to allow ventilation - allowing the seeds to be suffocating and the mold to thrive.

Then Mother’s Day was around the corner. My mom wished for live plants, and their “Burgundy Iceberg™ Floribunda Rose “ seemed perfect - and it was on sale for Mother’s Day! I bought a bareroot, and Mother’s Day came around… no roses. My mom was a bit sad I didn’t get her a gift, and was surprised to find the roses I had ordered about two weeks ago were arriving… that Wednesday. Once I finally got it, I told my mom “it looks ugly now, but wait for it to bloom!” And we waited. And waited. Leaves formed, but they blew weakly in the wind. I cut them back, and watered it all summer in hopes it would grow. Nope. Not a single leaf ever grew back, even though I put it in nice soil with mulch surrounding it.

I decided to Live Chat with Park Seed, but was told that it had a “90-day policy”. A bareroot only had a 90-day policy. I understand that policy for live plants, but even then there are a lot of sellers who have a YEAR policy for live plants AND bareroots. Many plants will take a month to grow their leaves back, and another to grow their flowers in their barefoot form.

Now, they were having a good sale on my favirote fertilizer about a month ago. Nature Source is a good, natural fertilizer with no weird stuff in it - very good if you have a wildlife-focused garden or you have pets who go through the garden. This product was alright, but no there were no warnings saying to water it down. Me forgetting that most fertilizers need to be watered down used it anyway… and killed about $30 worth of seed. You know what the real sting of all of this is? Most the people I had bought the other seed from understood my mistake, and gave me new seed for free - because they’re real people who understand that people can make mistakes. But… I had decided to buy two seed packets since they were only a dollar at Park Seed. They sadly died too. I emailed them 48 hours ago, and have I gotten a response? Nah. They’re not in a rush, they’re probably going to wait until my 90 day return policy is up to reply.

As a final note, I’d like to mention that ALL of my boxes from Park Seed have been damaged somehow. I have never gotten a damaged box from anyone until I bought from Park Seed. I’m never buying from Park Seed - and if I do, it’ll be because I love Nature Source.

UPDATE: October 7th 2016

Someone from the website saw my review and offered an almost full refund of all the products I've ordered for them. While I am extremely happy about this, I still feel critical of their return policy - it should at the very least be increased for bareroots and the fact it took me writing a bad review to get any attention from them. I will update again once I get a new set a products from them with my new credit.

I placed an online order and decided to cancel it after 12 days of no response or updated info online (I also called and spoke to a not very nice representative that said "Sometimes it takes a while for order to get processed ". I asked her if I could cancel online, she said yes any time. I went to the website and on the order status page there is nowhere I could find to cancel so I wrote an email to: info@parkseed.com on May 2nd asking them to please cancel my order. Lo and behold the same evening I cancelled they placed a charge on my credit card. I never received an answer to my email. I immediately wrote them again and sent my cancellation email 3 times including all the information. I still have not heard back, but the email works fine since I got notification today that the order shipped. I am very unsatisfied with their customer service and would not recommend this company to anyone. I do not want this order and they forced payment and sent it anyway. What a bad business practice!

I still hope they will work on their customer service and website issues - maybe during off season? As Angela mentioned to me and other posts during the peak season the emails can fall behind due to the call volume in their call center and due to the volume of emails they receive daily. I wish them the best for the future.

It took six days to get here and when it finally did, the seed packages are short. Instead of 25 Rudbeckia, I received 18. On Calendula, I received 39 instead of 50.

I'm not done counting yet, will have a final tally later.

The quality looks like dollar store seed.

The shipping costs half the order, and they gave me a unusable tracking number.

The seed count is less then what's on the package.

Never again. I order from Fedco, Johnny's, and Baker, and I've never a problem like Parks has given me.

The only good thing is the germination chart they sent, hopefully their seeds will germinate 100% to make up for the rest.

Order was placed on the web to speed things up? I waited almost a month and never heard back from them. Finally I sent an inquiry by e mail and no response. I called twice and e mailed a few more times. Still not a person knew when the seeds would be shipped or what was going on. Another week went by and two more e mails and they finally got the ball rolling. Ive been given a usps tracking number that so far is no good. I think the shipping # is a sham. On a scale of 1 to 10 in making an effort to make a customer satisfied and do business with them again is a big fat ZERO. This is not the same Park seed I remember from the 1990's. As far as Im concerned for the aggravation they put me thru my order definitely should have been complimentary. It is obvious to me they do not seem to care that they are losing customers faster than they are gaining them. Ill order elsewhere next time. And the thing that really gets me is the seeds were displayed on the website as available for shipment while I was told repeatedly that they were on backorder. Im still trying to figure that one out. Its going onto six weeks for my order to get to me.

I have to give credit where credit is due. I, too, have had some delays in delivery of seeds and orders of non-plant materials that are not subject to weather, but what I did receive was well packed, arrived safely and was exactly as advertised. When seed packs didn't have good germination rates or other problems occurred, they always refunded promptly and without question. All in all, I give Park's a positive rating. Yes, smaller companies with less overhead and business can react faster, but they get the job done and treat people humanely. If I had any troubles with getting a good outcome when problems occur, then I wouldn't be so generous. But, as long as they continue to do the right thing, I'll continue shopping there. No real harm has been caused by the problems I've encountered and they've gone the extra step to make it right. Thanks Park's!

On May 22nd, 2012, reeve1 changed the rating from positive to negative and added the following:

I have experienced ALL the problems listed here - like deceptively selling seeds from 2011 by putting a 2012 sticker on the label and selling them as this year's product, poor seed count, poor packaging of tiny seeds and not providing a paper envelope inside the seed pack, poor viability of seeds, and all the other complaints and problems listed here.

But, the last straw is them not honoring their guarantee. It's like chasing a jack rabbit trying to get someone to follow through with what they say they are going to do once you get off the phone. I started doing this in writing so I had something that I could go back to my credit card company with. They sold me Pee Dee Liriope, their website says it has bright Yellow leaves, and the pictures show this. When I received them, they were medium green and looks like generic Liriope, not even close to the picture on their website. When I contacted them, a horticulturist got involved and stated that they needed a week to test the product. After a week with having the plant at her desk, she responded back to me saying that they acknowledged the misrepresentation and would issue a full refund for the full amount to my credit card. Weeks later, I receive a credit voucher towards more purchases, and they didn't even refund the shipping. Since this was the only item on this order and after explaining to them that this was their mistake, not mine, and I would not have ordered these if the item had been properly identified. They promised to issue a refund, but it's been over 2 months now and 3 attempts to email, to be promised the refund in 10 days, and I get nothing. Each person promises that they just initiated a refund to my card and then I don't see anything.

I'm issuing a chargeback today on my credit card and am finished shopping with these crooks! I only hope that they will finally go out of business soon so we can have one less obstacle and avoid the continuous problems that usually come with doing business with Park's and trying to purchase quality plants for my home and garden. They are not our friends.
On July 7th, 2012, reeve1 added the following:

To date, I have called both Park Seed and their affiliate, Wayside Gardens, and have been told 4 TIMES that they are sorry, the credit is NOW issued, and I should see it in 7-10 days. Nothing has been done. I've finally called my credit card company to dispute the charges. Life is too short than to have to waste it dealing with Park Seed's incompetence.
On April 4th, 2014, reeve1 added the following:

The incompetence continues! I don't know why I think my experience is going to be different than it has been in previous years. I ordered the Rising Sun Redbud and some Inca Ice Alstroemeria in December 2013. Not a word from them about when they might ship, or a heads up when they had charged my card. But, I learned that the order was shipped 3/5. Apparently, the box came to UPS empty and they supposedly contacted Park about filing a claim. It's 4/4 as I type this and I just learned about all this. While Park has spent 3 weeks filing a claim to get their money back, no one at Park has the courtesy or mindset to contact me to let me know what has happened to my order, or even start the replacement process. I had to call to find all this out and then was told they are still working out the claim. I had to ask for them to ship out the replacements. It's like dealing with children or like they are all on drugs and have to be told what to do. Absolutely No proactive actions or basic customer service.

I also had another order with seeds. None of them sprouted. I had purchased the same seeds from Express Seeds and have almost 97% germination rate. Clearly these seeds are old. How old is the question. There were Surfina Petunia plants on the order, both scheduled to ship next week. I asked to cancel them and they said they have already shipped. When I told her they show shipping on Monday (today is Friday) she said they can't cancel both plants, only one. I can't see Park's lasting much longer with this kind of failure to provide not even best efforts but the most basic of customer notification and support. Absolutely unbelievable.
On April 23rd, 2014, reeve1 added the following:

Just STAY AWAY! They are having bigger problems than I can possibly list here. I'm getting dead plants, no one responds to emails, and I am getting the phone hung up on me and talked down to like I was some piece of trash. I don't know what's happening there but it's so bad that I can't see them staying around much longer. I'm so fed up that I will never do business with them.
On May 3rd, 2015, reeve1 added the following:

Worst experience yet! I ordered from another company and didn't know it was a PARK company. Lo and Behond, the same crappy experience! I wish I could get a list of every company they buy before I order from them. They seem to poison everything they touch. They are worse than common criminals! Lie, cheat and steal!
On May 6th, 2015, reeve1 changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

Apparently, there is one person at Park's that doesn't have TOTAL disregard for customers. I've had so many bad experiences and felt like a fool for coming back. But, I love gardening, I love new and hard to find items, and this has been the reason for Park's existence lately. Unfortunately, the people they hire must deal with such angry people on a daily basis that they've become callous and angry themselves! But, not so with one person, 'Angela Davenport' ADavenport@parkseed.com. While the negatives so heavily outweigh the positives (plant quality, packing, prices, customer support, quality control, and more) I cannot see changing my negative to a positive. But, Angela's kind and thoughtful assistance has helped raise this to Neutral (against my better judgment). Angela gets an A+ for her compassion and for handling the problem without immediately looking for any opportunity to avoid giving a refund, replacement or any expense on Park's part by putting blame on me, unlike the many others. Unfortunately, she's a single diamond in a sea of coal. I'm leaving this Neutral until I can see some improvement in product quality and customer service without having to find the Angela's within the company whenever there is an issue, which it seems there has been some issue with every order I've placed in the past 2 years, every instance! The other reviews here don't lie and give a clue that Park's needs to make significant improvements in every department if they want to avoid the 90%+ negative ratings they have been getting from about every customer that tried to do business with them. Hiring Angela was a good start! But, this company needs some major changes from top to bottom! MAJOR!!

Has anyone else had trouble with germination of their Park Seeds during the past couple of years? I became suspicious before it actually happened when I noticed the seed packets had started to use a removable "packed for" label. I thought they used to have the date printed right on the gold packaging. Last year I noticed the small removable label and found it odd. Then, last year I have much lower germination rates on seeds I had grown 2 year and 1 year earlier from the same company-same seeds. Now this year, it's a bit early yet but I'm wondering if it's happening again. I ordered every type of Canna seed available. The first year almost every seed germinated, last year it was about 75 percent of them. This year they had a new Canna and oddly THAT one germinated just fine and all of them sprouted. Meanwhile, the others that would have sprouted by now have not. I may be a bit premature in my concern and I will follow this up in a week. I know what some will say, oh maybe they froze in the mail etc. Well, no, it was very mild during the week of both deliveries and they did not sit outside. I have a really nice grow tent with expensive 200 watt grow lights which I tend to like a mother hen, as I think we all do. ANOTHER ISSUE that I absolutely HATE about Park Seed-When you go onto their website, even if you just look and don't buy, their website dumps strong tracking cookies on your computer and if you visit Ebay and other sites, all of a sudden you notice that the same items you looked at on Park Seed are now advertised on your Ebay page and others !!!! I've had to go into Control Panel, Internet Options and DELETE COOKIES and TEMPORARY FILES. This is part of the reason why I'm wondering if they are selling old seeds, because a company that has to tag these cookies on your computer isn't exactly above-board with their intentions. One more thing-if you order something and they don't have it I assumed that's the end of it. However, all of a sudden your bank account is debited much later when they get the item in stock which can throw your bank account out of whack, and they do it with no notification. Do you suspect they are re-selling outdated seeds with new date labels added to the packets? Thanks for reading.

Now maybe I am jumping the gun here, but I have ordered from 3 other companies since Jan 30 and have received all of my orders from the 3 other companies already. After reading other posts, I feel some anticipation of a long wait ahead of me. At least, it was a small order, but I really could have purchased the seeds from one of the other companies and had them already.

I wish I had read the comments before ordering. On September 10, I ordered several packs of Wave pansies, as no one near me had any plants and I love them in fall plantings. I also ordered an 18 pack of Graffiti purple cauliflower, as it was on sale with a few other cool season veggies.

This past week, my order arrived (no shipping notice was sent, but so it goes). The pansies were in good shape, and I have no complaints about them.

The cauliflower also looked good. A little pale for a purple, but good. I proceded to harden it off on my porch and today began planting. Unfortunately, Parks sent the wrong variety. Veronica, a yellow-green variety. (I'm sure it's nice if that's what you want, but I don't. I specifically wanted the purple, it's better for my zone and my cooking preferences.) I contacted them via email, since they had closed for the day. I will update when I hear anything. I would normally not post a negative until I hear more back, but I only ordered two things. :/

On September 26th, 2012, vommarlowe added the following:

I sent them another email, but still have not heard back. I'm hoping they'll just refund my money for the incorrect plants, since it's too late to plant the right variety.

Also, the pansies were obviously grown in much smaller plugs and then put into the larger 6-packs later. Some of them are rootbound because the roots were so tightly bound they never uncurled into the larger dirt. I didn't even know people did that kind of thing. Just goes to show, I guess. I'm hoping my careful TLC will pull them through.

Lesson learned. I will not be ordering from Parks again. :/
On October 1st, 2012, vommarlowe changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

I received an email from Park's customer service. They apologized for sending the wrong plant and said they would refund the cost of it.

That seems fair, but I will probably not order again, given my experience.

In January Park Seed promoted a free shipping offer via email. Apparently I missed the fine print about the fact that only the standard shipping was free and an express fee would be charged per pack of plants. I think that the offer was deceptive. The plants were not shipped until the first week of June, which is a little late; however, they were healthy and are growing. I have ordered seeds from them for many years because they have varieties that I cannot find from other catalogs and I have not had any problems with the orders or the quality of the seeds.

Ordered 3 packets of seeds, they sent me an email saying all three were shipped.
Two weeks later nothing has arrived, so I email them saying I received no seeds. They email me and say they are going to re-ship two of the seed packets but the 3rd seed packet is now "out-of-stock".
They email me 4 days later saying the two seed packets were shipped. Two and a half weeks later none of the seeds ever arrived.

So this whole time, they get to have my money, but I don't get to have my seeds, (which I really needed those seeds a month ago because it is going to be getting very hot here in Florida very soon).

I am never ordering from them ever again.

The prices were high and the shipping was $6.95. Very expensive for 5 packages of seeds. Well the snapdragon seeds germinated well but I had only 4 out of the 20 seeds of the Columbine germinate. I hope my Cantaloupe seeds germinate better then the Columbine. Now in Parks favor they did replace the Columbine seeds and I should receive them sometime next week. I think that their prices are very high for the amount of seeds they sell and the shipping cost are outrageous. However, their customer service was good. Overall I gave them a neutral rather then a Negative because they replaced the seeds and had good customer service. However, a 2 oz package sent first class USPS mail should only have cost 90 cents and not almost $7.00.

I have been ordering from Park Seed for a good 30 years, since moving to Florida in 1975. They have always provided fast service, excellent seeds and plants, and excellent customer service. I just received two Verbena plants last week that looked OK upon arrival, but within 24 hours had shriveled folaige and now appear dead. I have e-mailed them about this, so we'll see if they are still the company they used to be. I expect they will be good to their word, and if they aren't I will be back to let you know.

Well, I'm back to update my recent post about Park Seed. In reading the letters from other people I was dissapointed to find out Parks is no longer a family run business. That may explain how the company has changed for the worse. I e-mailed them to tell them my two Verbena I received died practically overnight...they tried to tell me the plants have simply gone into dormancy (overnight). The plants are DEAD. I am not going to fight with them over $7.95. The bad publicity they get will hurt them more than the money will hurt me. They are no longer the wonderful seed company I dealt with for YEARS. Enough said!

They explained the ones they had been sent were not up to their standards and were sent back. To make a long story short, the Rose I ordered in spring did not arrive till fall. It was a decent sized and healthy plant when it finally did arrive. Most reputable companies will not charge a credit card until they ship an item, but Parks wastes no time getting their money up front. I am leaving my rating at neutral only because of the years of good service I had from Parks companies. But I will NEVER order from this company again. There is NO EXCUSE for not keeping a customer informed about their order.

Very misleading description of Heteropappus meyendorfii (Blue Knoll). The photo is totally doctored. I've grown this variety for years and it looks nothing like the photo. The information provided is very misleading and contradictory. The subheading says "Neat little cushion of lavendar blue" and the description refers to it as "powder blue". I would consider it a soft blue violet that is definately not a "neat little cushion".

The description says "in late summer, when all the summer annuals are fading and the fall color hasn't yet got started, it is nothing short of amazing" and then states at the bottom "sow seeds in January or February for October and November bloom". It always is the last thing to bloom for me, even after the garden Mums. I have never had it bloom even close to summer.

First time ever ordering from Park Seeds. They had a
certain pepper I wanted. I bought 2 packs of the pepper,
25 seeds suppose to be in each packer. One had 24,
okay that just one seed short. The other pack had 21,
four seeds short. When you pay $7.02 shipping for
2 packs of peppers and 2 packs of tomatoes, you do not
want to be shorted any seeds, especially hybrids.
Most companies will give you a little extra because not
all seed germinate. Parks is so stingy!

Gave Park one last try this year (how dumb am I?). Order arrived after 5+ weeks and 2 phone calls, still not a complete order. Two packets of seeds had little stickers placed over the area that has the date on the front, you know, packed for 2010, which is what the stickers said. Well, like I'm not going to peel them off, and underneath them it said packed for 2009. So, not only are they liars (each phone call they claimed they would send my order right out, put a rush on it - via pony express, I guess), they are also cheats, trying to pawn off old seed on us. Not very smart about it, either. So I say, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! It will be a big waste of your money. Want my order no., Park? 5875366 Lets see you lie your way out of this one.

I was going to wait until I received my seeds from Park, but it has now been over three weeks, and I have no idea when that may occur. I ordered seeds on January 31 and after two weeks went by I emailed them to find out what was going on with my order. To cover all bases, I asked them to immediately send available seeds in case any were on backorder and to send the backordered item(s) when they were available. I got an email back indicating that one of the items was on backorder because they were having a "quality issue" and were conducting germination tests on the seed. Maybe it is just me, but shouldn't germination tests be conducted before the shipping season starts?

No mention was made about shipping the seeds that were in stock as I requested but rather they indicated that it would take up to another 10 business days before anything would ship.

So, if I am lucky my seeds may get shipped 1 month after I ordered them.

I don't know about the rest of those ordering seeds on the web, but I am getting really disgusted by the lack of service with some companies. (Here's where the seed companies reply and tell us how busy they are).

I can order from almost any online retailer (seed or other product) and have product shipped within 5 business days regardless of the time of year or how busy a particular retailer may be. In fact, I have ordered from seven different online seed companies this year and none of them took even 5 days to ship.

This type of non-service from Park Seed has now occurred two years in a row for me, and I won't allow them a third strike. There are too many other options in terms of seed selection, quality, price and service.

Good Bye Park Seeds, this is definitely the last you will hear from me.

On March 5th, 2010, trc65 added the following:

It has now been five weeks after I ordered and still nothing from Park, no comments, no updates, no seeds. I'm now past the date at which I wanted to start all but one of the seeds I ordered (Radishes). They have another month before I'll be ready to sow them so maybe they can make that deadline!!!!

My plan for the future: 1. Let Park Seed Keep sending me their catalog (it is a great catalog) at their cost. 2. Choose the seeds I want from their catalog. and 3. Order from any online retailer except Park Seed.

It is very illustrative of the type of business that Park Seed has become in that they don't reply to the negative reviews here and even try to make things right with customers they have wronged.

On March 16th, 2010, trc65 added the following:

I am now entering the seventh week of waiting for my seeds. One week ago I emailed them again and was told

"your order is in the final stages of preparation before being shipped and should leave our facility within the next few days"

My question is: How many stages and how long does it take to ship 5 packets of seed??

This is really turning into a tragic comedy.
On March 20th, 2010, trc65 added the following:

Imagine my surprise when my seeds finally showed up in the mail today, 1 day short of 7 weeks since I placed the order. I was surprised because I thought I would never receive the order and because their website still lists my order as "Not Yet Shipped". I also didn't receive an email confirmation of shipping with tracking information. I'm just glad my order didn't include any plants as they would probably be dead by now (below freezing and snowing right now).

Since Park Seed seems to be ignoring the comments placed here (or at least deems them not worthy of reply), I found a feedback form on their public relations website. I'm not sure who gets that feedback, but hopefully will be someone other than their saccharine customer service reps.

I just got an email from Park telling me that my order was shipped -- three days after they were delivered to me.

I went in on an order with someone last year and was pleased with the results I had with Park Seeds, I was especially pleased with the Small Wonder Spaghetti Squash. With the seeds I have started indoors from my order, germination seems to be very good.

The reason my review is not Positive has to do with the seed counts advertised and the number I received. I ordered 7 varieties of seeds. Two of the 7 did not have the same seed count that the website advertised. The zucchini I ordered shows online that a packet contains 30 seeds. The seed packet says it contains 20 seeds. I have not yet opened it to see the actual count as I'm not ready to plant yet. One of the cucumbers I ordered shows online that a packet is 40 seeds but the packet states (and seems to contain) 30 seeds. The other easily counted seed packets seem to be as stated.

I sent an email to Park's customer service and received a reply stating the Internet Dept has now been notified of the error but a week later the website has not been corrected.

The raspberry plants had 1 berry ripen which I was surprised we got any at all since I had heard they take a couple years to produce, again too soon to tell if they survived the winter. The Echinacea did well and I hope it survived the winter. The squash did very well and my pumpkins I planted near the watermelon took over the garden so the watermelon didn't produce anything more than what almost looked like a weed (my fault). I'm giving a neutral rating because of the time in which things were sent to me. (a piece at a time) I didn't get the cucumbers seeds until after I had planted my entire garden and It was too late in the year to start the seeds as they would not mature in time to harvest before cold weather set in. I understand that the bare root pants can only be shipped in good weather but seeds can be shipped with any non perishable items and should be shipped early enough to give people time to grow the seed before planting season starts not after its finished. I plan to plant the cucumbers this year and the watermelon I had left over and no pumpkin so the watermelon should do well. I did reorder from them on 3/3/10 so we'll have to see if my order comes together or in pieces like last year. If I get items to late to use I may stop using them and order from other catalogs that have a better reputation.
