Should have read the comments here first. No responses, frustrating experience. Now I have to hunt for my refund.

My personal experience with Sand Mountain Herbs was not good. They have a great website which appears to be up to date and I placed an order. However, after 1 month of not receiving it, I found their phone to be disconnected and email bouncing as well as similar negative comments on BBB and their Facebook page which appears not to have been updated for several years. I was also unable to contact them via Paypal and eventually ended up getting my money back by opening a dispute. I don't know the circumstances behind this issue, but am just posting this to warn others to do a little research before ordering and make sure the company they're interested in is still open and taking orders. If somebody reading this knows them, please tell them to take their website down if they're no longer in business.

I placed an order for items March 27, 2020, paid through Pay Pal.

I have attempted twice via email (second time being this morning, April 27, 2020) to contact the company for a status update on my order.

I have used the company provided email and receive a notice "mailbox is full/blocks limit exceeded."

Do NOT place an order with this company.

Larry Chandler took our money through PayPal for an order of seeds, which we have never received. Right after we placed our order he had the gall to ask my wife, Darlene, to "like" his Facebook page and inquired whether we knew anyone that would send business to his Son's dirt hauling business. [We live in an adjoining county.] We have made numerous requests for our seeds or a refund. He has never responded. It has been two months, we are now exploring our options to pursue against this criminal. DO NOT SEND THIS MAN YOUR MONEY. He is clearly operating a criminal enterprise. We will provide updates for any progress made towards recovering our money.

Company No Longer in Business.
They take your money and don't respond to email or phone calls, just nothing. Now I have to deal with all the hoopla to get my money back.
This type of unprofessional display REALLY irritates the hell out of me.

I bought their seeds. They sent them, not fast though. I also bought some roots from them on the same day. That was about a month ago(13Feb). I have also sent them about 3 emails inquiring about my order. No response. This is the last time I'll ever fool with these folks.

Also known as HERBROOTS which I have posted on that as well. When I sent payment in for ground nuts and passionflower vines through pay pal, never received an acknowledgment for the payment which should have been my first red flag, since then i have tried many times to e-mail through SANDMONTAINHERBS, HERBROOTS, personal e-mails and even on facebook and they will not acknowledge me, I've only stated that if they would please let me know when they would be shipped so I would be home to receive them now that temps are in the low teens at night and daytime around 20 degrees. Never sent any rude e-mails and yet still they do not answer back. If by any SLIM chance they are honorable and will send live healthy plants and not dead ones like some people do to get out of paying back what they owe, I will come back in and apologize and make right on my ratings BUT since I will not hear from them, I will be posting over the many plant sites I belong to and some I don't and even other places just to warn people. I know I'm not the only person with an extremely limited income and cannot afford this to happen again. There goes my chance for some Christmas gifts and I'm getting fed up with cheesy companies that WILL NOT stand behind an HONORABLE system.

I've done a limited amt.of business with Sand Mountain for several years and until now I've been quite satisfied however,
last year I ordered several hundred Salvia Apiana seeds. In years past I've been able to achieve a 20-30% germination rate [ in greenhouse / Ma.], which I believe is quite good for s.apiana. After four plantings of 100+ seeds, I only achieved a 1-2% germ. rate. I emailed the Chandlers twice questioning the viability of the seed and if they would be willing to send replacement seeds. They never responded to my queries. I have ordered from different sources this spring and guess I just wanted to express my disappointment.

I ordered a total of 9 herb seeds from this company, back in February of 2012: wormwood, yarrow, lovage, blue hyssop, sage, burdock, aconite, valerian and orach.

They arrived in the mail quite well, in a couple of weeks, so I was able to start my planting.

Unfortunately of all of these, only the burdock actually sprouted. The other seeds never showed any sign of life - I didn't plant the aconite yet, obviously.

I tried to contact them, the emails bounce, there is no phone number on their website, stay away, poor quality products and non-existent customer support.

I ordered seeds from Sand Hill about 10 days ago. I paid by paypal. I received no confirmation email from the company. Today I called them, the phone was answered by a man who might have been deaf. I am not saying that as a joke, I mean he actually sounded deaf, he heard very little of what I was saying and I could hear a TV or something in the background turned up VERY loud. He asked when I placed the order. I said a few weeks ago. He then said he didnt have any records of me ordering on the 6th. I stated that I did not know if it was the 6th that I had ordered. He continued to state that all the orders placed on the 6th were sent out. I repeated that I was not sure about the date. He was not able to find my order by my name. I had to look up the date in my paypal records. He was then able to say he had shipped them on the 16th. He further stated that he had no tracking number and that he has had bad luck with the US Mail. But he shipped them by the US Mail. All in all, I would only recommend them as a last resort as I could not find another company with both improved dandelions and groundnuts.

I ordered a packet of seeds from this company on March 1st. I paid immediately through Paypal and received an e-mail the next day from them confirming receipt of payment and stating that the seeds should arrive in 1-2 weeks, and would be sent USPS first class. A little over three weeks passed, so I sent an e-mail, inquiring as to the status of the order. I received no reply, so a few days later, I e-mailed again, asking if there was a problem with the order, if the seeds were out of stock, or if they had been sent. Five days later, I received two replies, one to each e-mail I sent, stating that they were changing the "1-2 weeks" time frame, because it takes them 2-3 days to pack the order, and the postal service sometimes takes longer than the remaining time to deliver first class mail. They stated that my order had been shipped, and should arrive anytime, and to e-mail in a few days if the order was not received and they would re-send it. On 4/8, I sent another e-mail, letting them know that the order had not arrived and asking them to re-send or issue a refund through Paypal. I received no reply. Today, 4/19, I received a copy of my invoice in the mail, with a handwritten note that the seeds are out of stock until November 2004, and a personal check for the amount I paid. The check is dated 3/26, the day after my first e-mail, days before I was told the order had been shipped.

I'm glad I got my money back, but I'm disappointed, as these seeds should've been started by now and now I'm going to have to look for very hard-to-find plants. I'm also a bit put off by receiving a personal check rather than a Paypal refund, and am very hopeful that it won't lead to further issues. The company has an interesting catalog and I was tempted to order much more, but I wanted to wait until I knew they could deliver, since I've had issues in the past with ordering from small online companies. I'm just really disappointed.
