i just had to pick a holiday weekend to do my ordering, and, because we have recently moved, my billing addy couldn't be verified or some such thing. i tried three times to place my order, with the only outcome being that my credit card was charged 3 times. i didn't realize that they had already charged me, and was kind of shocked to see three debits when i looked at my checking account. i haven't received any emails even acknowledging my order, yet, and the emails i sent on their website have, of course, not been answered, what with the long weekend.

i tried to call this morning, but it was a recording that answered and, instead of just TELLING me the regular business hours, they blathered on, referring me to my catalog, the dwhich of which i don't have since i was using the ONLINE catalog! Cripes. To make matters worse, the recording then just hung up on me, and try as i might, i haven't found ANY info on the website regarding hours nor phone numbers. i do have their phone number from the bank charges, and i see y'all have it posted here, also.

This just sux, because it isn't anyone's fault, other than my bad timing, but i just hate to start off on the wrong foot with a new company, especially one that carries a LOT of stuff that i want! lol

Oh. And if i sound grouchy, i'm really not ~ i'm just dreading being the problem-child-customer that some service rep will have to deal with first thing after their nice, long weekend. Poor thang! lol

On a positive note, i thought the prices were quite reasonable ~ it may have been what i ordered (a bunch of different Coleus seeds), but they were the least expensive and had the best selection, and as the other poster pointed out, the shipping and handling charges being a flat rate really helps!

Sept 21 - Got everything straightened out with them and my seeds arrived quickly. i planted them in the 'good days' at the beginning of Sept ( 3 - 7), by direct sowing and by germination in egg cartons. NONE of the seeds have sprouted. i'll be contacting them again tomorrow and holding off on my final rating until, well, something happens.

I used to have a greenhouse business and we ordered most of our seed from HPS. Seemed to me they had a lot of back-orders or very late shipments. Order early so that you can get all the back-ordered items from another company. Otherwise, they're a decent company to deal with, and good germination rates.
