My husband purchased two shampoo gingers for me for Xmas. They were shriveled and dormant. Planted in spring and got One ginger that's barely growing and one robust weed. I emailed them about weed and they put me
Through the 3rd degree sent 10 pictures of the weed just to be called a liar and stupid for not noticing it wasn't ginger when I received it. Interestingly I left the brown paper shreds they shipped in on both bunches when I planted them and both weed and ginger still have shreds they were shipped with so there is zero doubt this isn't just a random weed. Shame! I dont trust them to ship what i purchase period! Mind you my husband paid $27 in shipping for 2 dormant rizomes. Basically it was a waste of time complaining and please read there 7 day warranty before purchasing!!Basically dormant items have ZERO warranty. My main gripe besides the poor health ginger is not receiving what was paid for TWO ginger.

Customer purchased (2) dormant shampoo ginger rhizomes in December. Description was clear that they would be receiving this, however since this was a gift, I can understand if the recipient was unaware or even thought it was an unusual gift.

The recipient contacted us upon receiving the order and asked questions on how to keep the tropical rhizomes in their non-tropical climate and confirmed that they were "nice!" rhizomes. They did not mention being concerned that the rhizomes were shriveled, unhealthy, dead looking or anything of that nature. They certainly did not mention that the two rhizomes looked completely different from each other.

Over 6 months later, they sent an email with a picture and asked if the leafy plant in the picture was the shampoo ginger they ordered.
The picture that we received was a (dicotyledon) weed-like plant and additional photos showed large tuberous roots (not a rhizome nor a bulb).
The photos also clearly show visible green stems (from this years growth) and brown dead branches from last growing season (last spring/summer). The rhizome that we shipped in December was dormant and had no stems from last years growth.
I confirmed with her that the plant in the photo was not the shampoo ginger that we sent.

It would have made sense that we made a shipping mistake if instead of a shampoo ginger, another similar ginger (monocotyledon) had sprouted as we offer a few different varieties. It would also make sense if any other dormant plant that we carry in our collection had sprouted, but the plant or weed in their picture is something unknown to us.

I would never call a customer a liar or stupid and absolutely did not call them any names.
Unfortunately, we have no way to tell what happened to the rhizomes that we sent her. We can only state that we have been in business for 25 years and we have developed a good reputation along the way. We have absolutely nothing to gain in sending customers fake plants or wrong plants.

We have no problem correcting our mistakes, even 6 months later, as long as there is some evidence pointing towards that."
