I received the 2 peony trees as promised and have planted them both and am looking forward to watching them grow and produce beautiful peony`s. Cher has always been very helpful and always answered all my e-mails and has been very friendly and has even called me when I had questions. I hope to buy from her again when my peony`s have bloomed and I am still happy with her. I have no complaints at all and am sure I wont in the future. She has been great to me.

I had no problems and was lucky that this fall/late winter was very mild so I was able to plant my peonies directly. Plants look healthy. I work at a retail nursery myself and I do know how much we charge for tree peonies. Also I did compare internet prices before bidding on ebay and I think prices are really good here. Thanks Cher

I ordered four tree peonis from this company Oct. 2004.
I expected I can receive them before the ground going
to be freezen. However, I know there were flood in the
area of China that the company emport peony from,
so some delay could happen, and realy happend.

I received the peonies just before the Xmas, when it is
freezen. However, the warm weather this year give me
good chance to transplant them directely to my yard.
All plants are looked good, I will see if they are really
good in spring and summer.

Whatever happens, I would like to see it is positive so far.

The Chinese Tree Peonies I ordered from this company arrived in beautiful condition. They are quite large, with good healthy root and stem. The selection and price were both excellent. My only complaint is that because of having to wait until they were dug up in China and shipped, they arrived too late to plant before the ground froze. However, I consider this a minor negative, since they are easily over-wintered for planting in the spring.

A clear explanation of how to get the variety of Chinese Tree Peony I desired (when it wasn't the variety being auctioned on eBay) was provided by contacting the company. Nobody bid against me, and I won the auction for the minimum price, and designated my chosen variety in further communication with the company. My Paypal account information was provided, and I dismissed the desire to see the plant 'right away' (despite my anticipatory excitement). After Thanksgiving, the plant arrived in excellent condition, and had a very healthy rootstock and several buds that looked very viable. It did arrive too late to plant in CT, as the ground had frozen. I potted the plant up as per the enclosed instructions, and it is sitting in my unheated garage (again as per their instructions) awaiting spring.

As the variety I wanted is not readily available in the United Statesand is distinctive (a bicolor 'Hua Er Qiao') I thought that even if it arrived late or in poor condition, it would be a reasonable gamble. It did arrive late, but, as I stated above a well rooted graft was provided, and I would not hesitate to recommend this company for this product, given the potential limitations introduced by the shipping from China which introduces the possibility that plants might arrive and require special care until permanently sited when weather conditions would permit.

My experience with this company and the rep from Sexy Bloomers has been negative from the start. I ordered 3 tree peonies (and paid for them) over a year ago. It is now almost Thanksgiving in Zone 5 and I still have not received the plants. All my emails from this person have been very snotty and curt. Of course they refuse to refund any money under any circumstances. When I suggested to her that it was too late to plant in this zone, she, in effect called me a liar. I will never do business with this company again and fully intend to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I finally received my 3 peonies two days before Christmas. Of course the ground was frozen. The plants did look healthy and I planted them in a box as described in the instructions. They are now sitting in an unheated garage awaiting spring. I hope they make it, or there's $75.00 down the drain, as Cher has informed there will be NO refunds. If the plants fail, she will send me 3 more peonies NEXT Christmas. She has been very rude in all of her communications. I will NOT do business with her again.

I had a wonderful experience with Sexy Bloomers (South Creek Nursery of Palmyra). I bought four (4) tree peonies by Ebay auction in April. We had a Paypal problem with one of the auctions, but we worked it out with a couple of emails and Sexy Bloomers sent me in effect, and extra free tree peony. They arrived by priority mail and were the best packed by any garden mail order business that I have ever dealt with, which is very many. Service was prompt and courteous I don't know what all the fuss is about. I would rate this company A+ and definitely do business with them again. Paul in Huntington Beach, California.

Another New Year! 2004 Sexybloomers.com offered 60+ varieties of Chinese Tree Peonies from 2 mainland growers. The stock arrived for the paid preorders later than preferred, but in some cases it was a blessing. Plants were huge this season. As the temps during shipping were so cold, there was no intransit mold on the grafts. Most responses for the crop were favorable. Also we provided an alternative planting method, holding the stock in paper tube containers until spring planting was permitted. The additon of a second Chinese grower added even more choices to the mix.

A new list for 2005 should be available on the website in late January. We hope that the list will increase by another 5-10 varieties. Shipping / handling may increase, with the proposed increase in postage rates, but the cost of the plants should remain constant. Over 300 orders were shipped this season, despite the delayed processing due to an unexpected credit card processor update. Look for more good plants from Sexybloomers.com!

2005 -- Another New year..
As of March 2005 - a new list is now up .. and we are able to again take preorders. We found our Buy now / Pay later program was a good bet. No one got stuck with paying fees on purchases not shipped until fall..
Also on a positive note.. Shipments coming in Dec offered an added advanatage.. NO MOLD or Damage on the plants as it was consistantly cold throughout the entire mailing.

This spring we are planting leftovers for our usual test!
I am excited to see the results.. now offering 60+ varieties from 2 growers.

My experience with Cher was very negative. The tree peony was ordered on ebay and mailed out much later in the year, making it impossible to leave feedback.
Shipping/handling charges were $12, the box came priority mail (which means she gets a free box from the P.O.) and the shipping cost was $3.65. You do the math! The shipping was promised for early October, and the plant did not arrive until after Thanksgiving- a little late for planting in zone 5!
The plant was obviously dead and gone when it arrived, when a complaint was lodged, Cher promised to replace if it didn't grow the following spring. When a second complaint followed in spring, she sent out a mass mailing saying she would replace the plants if she was sent an additional $12. She blamed everything on her grower in China. While it may be their fault, she is the one that sold the plants and she should be the one to replace them. When I told her this, this was her response QUOTE: Here is you chance.. Yelp about it.. and you'll miss out. I did you a favor by emailing you today..
She got VERY nasty and I kept the emails, intending on reporting the company to BBB. I never did, but I wish I would have! Who knows how many she ripped off!

This is definitely not a place to trust with your business. They do list an amazing variety of plants, including all the hottest stuff right out of tissue culture and their prices are unbelievable - so don't believe it! They don't have or can't ship what they've got listed, substitute without asking and charge for plants you'll never see. I placed an order for over 100 plants and got about 20, the rest have never been seen. I called several times, even though it was long distance, and was assured by Cheryl "everything was on its way". No such luck. Stay away from this place!

I warn against ordering from sexybloomers.com or their parent company South Creek Nursery. I am currently waiting for an order placed over a year ago. Part of this order actually dates back 2 years! They are unable and unwilling to refund my money.I did order from them in the winter of 1999 for the 1999 growing season. The plants arrived a little late (July) considering I'd ordered in January or February. The plants were a good value for the money; however, many were out of stock. They would not credit the remainingmoney, so I was forced to reorder in the winter of 2000. I am still waiting for this order a year later. They have failed to be proactive in customer service and have denied reimbursing my money. In regards to an inquiry I emailed to them 1/1/01 asking if there was ANY hope of receiving last years order this year, they responded."For god sake yes that is the plan. I was so devastated to think we had no local market support our efforts, you can't imagine. I'm working with Ivy Garth out of Ohio to get in what we need. But it will be a very slow process as I have no funds to work with. I am also assuming that our local market that supported us for all those years is gone aswell as our ability serve them. My dad is 79 years old, his second wife went through 3 heart attracts in July, full renal failure, heartvalve replacement, open heart surgery, and now appears to have hepatitis. So he is unable to help. It is myself and what Keith can help with. It is a really hard start. Bear with us, as it is the internet market we will be focusing on." I'm not much into sob stories. I just want my money back.

I placed a large pre-season order with this place last November for a discount off their already low prices. Many of the items were "designer" cultivars of particular interest to me. However, it is now September of the following year. Two thirds of the items I originally order have not be sent and are not available. I requested substitutes from the "available" listing on their website and most were not available. As fall is quickly approaching, I finally requested shipment and most of the substitutes were rather common varieties of plants and small in size. They were well packed and still moist on delivery. I doubt I will order from them again.

I placed an order with Sexy Bloomers for 12 hostas. The reason I ordered from them is that I have a baby due any day, and I wanted to plant hosta Guardian Angel in honor of my new baby, and they, according to the web site, had it.I originally emailed my order and stated that I'd pay via Paypal (thinking that was the quickest way to go). Three days later I'dreceived no confirmation of them having received the email, so I called (even though it's a long distance phone call) because I was anxious tohave the plant here and ready for when my baby arrives. Cheryl said that she remembered seeing the order, but couldn't find it, so I resubmitted the order over the phone, gave credit card information instead of going with Paypal, and was told all the plants would go out "early next week" (this being on a Thursday). I waited 2 weeks before getting the order, and it consisted of only 8 plants. One of the plants was a substitution which I'd not been consulted on, several cited on the site as being in 2 quart pots were, indeed, in two quart pots, but had obviously been potted up from 2" pots recently (the roots were still in the shape of the 2" pot), and they were all pretty unhappy looking. I was charged shipping as if I'd had 12 plants delivered, instead of 8. There was no mention of the missing plants at all, and I recieved an email saying that my Paypal payment was due. I emailed to ask about the missing plants, and the substitution, explaining why I'd ordered from them, how I wanted to have Guardian Angel before my baby was born, etc. It took them 2 days to reply. I was told that Guardian Angel "wasn't ready yet" and would be "shipped when it was ready", and no mention of the other three missing plants. I have to say, I could have been told about the substitutions and/or the unavailability of the plants when I'dcalled to place the order. I also could have been told that I'd be waiting over 2 weeks for the order, instead of being told it would goout within a matter of a few days, and I could most certainly have been treated with more courtesy and respect. I feel that their plants were misrepresented, over-priced (even at the cheap prices they have), and unhealthy (two were showing signs of root-rot when I went to plant them), their "customer service" is atrocious, they are completely disorganized, and I canceled the rest of the order, and will not under any circumstances order from them again.

I ordered 20 perennials from Sexybloomers last fall. The plants arrived in excellent condition. The plants arrived in pots, not the usual dormant plants. I purchased the $1.00 selection and was impressed as the plant filled the 4" pot and the soil was actually moist. The plants were secured in the pot by a nylon type fabric, which prevented the soil from spilling and protecting the plant. The shipping and handling on 20 plants was high at $25.00, but I guess if you average the plant cost and the shipping, you still are getting a good deal. I know I cannot purchase a perennial for less than $4.00 in my area.
