Negative | threeducks (7 reviews) | On Jun 21, 2005, threeducks Southfield, MI wrote: I hate to say this, but I have to give Pickering a negative. I placed a late season order with them for 7 bareroot hybrid teas. When they arrived, they were bone dry. Most of them had only one or two tiny canes. Quite frankly, I was shocked, especially after all of the positive comments posted about them. After a month in the ground, only two of the 7 roses look good. 4 are on life support and one is definitely dead. Perhaps it was my late season order and I was getting leftovers. Still, I would expect the roses to be viable and not all dried out. |

On January 31st, 2004, Hippychick added the following: In fairness to what seems to be a decent vendor, i wanted to update my information. I recieved a letter from Pickerings in late December that they would be shipping my rose in Febuary of 2004. They had my old address listed and when i sent them an email with my new information, they wrote back some time later to let me know they had recieved it. Should my rose make it here in Febuary, i will come back and change my rating to neutral. I give credit to this website for the correction of this mistake. If I am wrong in that, and Pickerings handled it on their own, then my appologies go to Pickerings. Gratefully, Hippychick. On March 3rd, 2004, Hippychick added the following: March 3/2004. Well.. no word from Pickering. I have to admit that i now think them to be a weird, at the least, company. Where as before.. i could understnad a mistake.. now i just wonder why they sent any letter at all, as i had already forgotten about it. I sent them an email today out of fairness. Otherwise, i would have just blown the whole thing off. I have recieved enough wonderful roses, from truly wonderful vendors, to let this one go. That was my last contact with Pickering. I cannot reccomend them to anyone. How many mistakes must one put up with? Keep the money Pickering... use it to send a rose to someone you have better success with. Definately a negative experience. On March 12th, 2004, Hippychick added the following: It showed up yestday. Only took 1 year and 9 months. Small but nice canes, good roots. I will never contact Pickerings again. Not a single word from them as to why it was late, or notcie of when they had shipped it. No apologies, no note, no customer service at all. All in all, it was a sad venture. |
