Comments regarding The Tasteful Garden

Wonderful packaging. Delivered to Texas in 100 degree heat, but only a bit wilted. Very healthy plants, larger in size than I expected. Quick shipment. I will be a frequent returning customer.

My plants arrived healthy and in good condition. One of the tomato plants looked a little wilted, but after a dose of water, it started to flourish. The four tomato plants I purchased are currently my pride and joy. I had to use container planting, which has given me a bit of a challenge, but all is productive. I am anxiously awaiting the ripening of several tomatoes. I'm concerned I will have too many tomatoes for myself. Since my planting started late in the year, I look forward to an early start next season.
Just today, I went back to Tasteful Garden to purchase the Neem II that is recommended for insects and fugus. If I could send a tomato from one of their plants without it spoiling, I would, just so they could know how great everything grew.

The tomato plants and herbs I purchased are thriving. The tomatoes are taller than I am (5 ft) and loaded with fruit. Even in drought conditions, unseasonally high heat and watering restrictions the plants are healthy and productive. I couldn't be happier! I am also something of a novice, this being the first real garden I have ever had and I am still getting wonderful results.

on the advice of a friend, i purchased a couple of carmello tomatoes from tasteful garden because they're heirlooms which are resistant to that awful v wilt stuff. i did this because it appeared my own tomatoes (also heirlooms --- sun gold and celebrity) and a brandywine someone gave me were falling victim to the wilt.

well, the tomatoes were gorgeous when they arrived, even though the UPS man left them a mile up the road at the wrong house in scorching heat, and i didn't get them for a day or so. even better, when i informed tasteful garden what had happened, they responded immediately to remedy the problem --- which turned out not to be a problem, as the plants quickly revived once i got them and watered them. proof to me of good healthy plants.

the carmello tomatoes are already gigantic and producing. and even though my other tomatoes (with the exception of the brandywine, which looks truly horrible) revived and don't have that awful wilt stuff, i am delighted i bought the carmellos and will buy from tasteful garden again in the future.

I love the Tasteful Garden. I picked my first vine ripe tomato this morning. I can't wait to eat it. I bought container tomato plants and have a full garden in my driveway which is the only place I have sun. Thanks for the beautiful plants.

Good variety of heirloom tomato plants offered. Ordered 21 plants. Only one substitution (Aunt Gertie's Gold, but they had problems with that one this year, apparently). All of the plants arrived in beautiful condition (2-day shipping). Plants are BIG and very healthy looking. The packaging is EXCELLENT - each plant is individually packaged in it's own thick cardboard protective container and held securely inside the big package. The container (with the dirt and roots) is also wrapped in plastic to keep moisture in. Customer service has been very good as well, emails get responded to right away, etc.

I want to thank Tasteful Garden for their most wonderful plants & customer service! As I live in a rural area with lots of Amish farms & greenhouses, I generally do not purchase plants for my vegetable garden over the internet since there is an abundant supply of inexpensive healthy plants for sale where I live. However, since I knew I would be busy this Spring traveling alot on business & would not have my weekends free for my usual Amish greenhouse shopping trips, I decided to purchase the plants for my vegetable & herb gardens over the internet.

I purchased plants from several of the major seed/gardening companies as well as from a few perhaps not so well know companies like the Tasteful Garden. THE PLANTS I PURCHASED FROM THE TASTEFUL GARDEN WERE BY FAR THE LARGEST, HEALTHIEST, MOST VIGOROUS, & BEST PACKED PLANTS OF ALL THE COMPANIES I BOUGHT PLANTS FROM! In fact, even though the boxes of plants from Tasteful Garden arrived at my house while I was away on a business trip & sat for almost a week until I returned home, I found them to still be quite healthy, vigorous, and not wilted when I finally opened the boxes. Kudos to Tasteful Garden!!! From now on I will be buying vegetable & herb plants from Tasteful Garden every year. What you get is well worth the price paid!

My heirloom tomato plants arrived today. I have never ordered tomato plants before, and I was a little nervous, but they arrived in BEAUTIFUL condition--prettier than those in the nurseries in our area--plus no more expensive and MANY more varieties than we can get here locally.

I requested my plants be sent on May 22 2006..I received them May 25th in Ct . All plants were very healthy, packed with care and large. I will buy again next year with a larger order now that I know what to expect. If your going to buy tomato plants and most likely other veggie's..THIS IS THE PLACE !!!!!!

Ordered 4 creole tomato plants and 2 Black Krim. I've been gardening since I was a little kid - over 40 years of growing tomatoes - and these are the best looking tomato plants I've ever started with. The most suprising thing, was that the plants were quite big for 4" pots and I was shocked when I took them out of the container and they weren't root bound. In fact they were perfect, fat thick sturdy stems, healthy growth, and I was able to bury them deep for good roots. After a couple of weeks in the ground nothing has changed my opinion, the plants are taking off. I'll be ordering from them again next year.

For the last few years, I have ordered plants from this site. Each year it is a pleasant surprise to find beautiful healthy plants. This year I ordered a few plants from a different website, and every one of the twelve plants arrived dead. I won't make that mistake again. The information on this site, as well as the lovely plants, have made me a much better gardener. Thanks.

Absolutely the best vegetable plants I have ever received. The plants were large, very healthy, and already had some flowers on them. They packed them with great care. I have bought a lot of plants online and from local places here. I have to say the plants they sent me were the most beautiful I have ever seen. I am delighted and will order from them again. Wonderful service, and excellent customer service. After I received my plants I ordered some more for my son.

Their website is great, informative, and easy to use. They sent detailed information about the melon seeds I ordered. On planting, caring for and harvesting.

I just received my first shipment of vegetables, berries, and herbs from Tasteful Garden. They were so much bigger and healthier than what I had received from another company in the past. In addition, they packed things beautifully to ensure that the plants would not be damaged and would remain moist. Each pot was individually wrapped in plastic and placed in a cardboard sleeve. I am very satisfied.

I have ordered the sungold cherry, red grape, isis candy, carmellow, and a few others...I love the sungold cherry, very sweet and extremely large and productive plants. I am ordering again this year and expect to receive the same high quality plants as before...try this place for your tomato plants, you'll be glad you did!!!!

I just bought several tomato plants, a pepper, 2 strawberries and a stevia from their sale at Callaway Gardens. The plants were LARGE and healthy. I went to their web page and ordered more after seeing how large and nice they are. There was some I didn't see at the sale that you have on your web page. PLEASE do not substitute however! I want the sun gold! A Pine Mountain resident.

I'm very happy with my tomato plants. The Tasteful Garden offered a good selection of varieties, and the plants arrived in good condition. They are of a good size and aren't too leggy.

I have been buying from Tasteful Garden for 3 years now and have had nothing short of excellent experiences. The plants are huge, healthy and strong; Cindy and George couldn't be nicer or friendlier, and the variety of unusual plants makes me keep coming back year after year. I mainly order by mail, but occasionally, on a nice Spring day, I'll get the itch to make the 1.5 hour drive over to Heflin to say "hi" to them both and the dogs and wander through the greenhouses to see what's growing. I'm a professional chef and an avid gardener; something I share with Cindy and George, so we can talk not only about their great plants and herbs but also how to use them in the kitchen. I would recommend Tasteful Garden to anyone.

I ordered from The Tasteful Garden last year and two years before that when they were The Chef's Garden. Each time I ordered 10 different tomato plants and I have always received the healtiest looking plants that I can find anywhere. The plants produce much more fruit than I can ever use so I give them away to all my neighbors. The plants arrive very well packed and I can't wait to order again this year.

I ordered Yellow Pear tomato plants from Tasteful Garden. This is the first time I ordered from this company. They immediately responded to me via email, personally, not an auto-message. They shipped the plants when I requested, and they arrived in 2 days. The plants are very big, stocky and healthy, and I have never received tomato plants of this size via mail-order before. I am very pleased with the packaging (each plant was in it's own individual cardboard sleeve, and the pot was wrapped with cellophane which also covered the top of the soil in the pot. No soil at all had spilled out, as is experienced with a lot of mail-order shipping, and the plants were perfect. I will definitely order from this company again.

I just got my first order, Roma Tomato & Strawberry, they are awesome, I never has such happy time to deal with online nursery, their service is wonderful. And I did make second order, and hope it will be good like my first one. And I will report soon:)

I ordered herbs and pepper plants and received them today. The plants were all in excellent condition and moist. I received an email the day before letting me know that they had been shipped and explaining that one item was on backorder. I am anxious to see how they perform this year. My experience with this company has been excellent so far.

I purchased several tomato plants from them last season. The plants arrived on-time and in excellent condition. They were larger than I expected and had thick stems. I just placed another order with them for delivery this spring!

Reading some threads last weekend that suggested sources for purchasing tomato plants, I got the notion Monday evening 6/21 to order some plants....went to one of the sources (The Chef's Garden) and saw they had some plants available. anyway, ordered 3 plants (Cherokee Purple, Rose de Berne, Mortgage Lifter), primarily chosen because they were available, by UPS 2nd....they arrived today 6/24.

lovely plants, not the overaged disasters that I sort of dreaded, not too leggy, thick stems that were unbroken, and very nicely packed.

I was impressed by the quality of plants from this vendor, as well as the packaging and speed of despatch!

Just received heirloom tomatoes and herbs, which were shipped promptly on the date I requested. Plants are good size, healthy, and were extremely well-packed. One of the best selections of heirloom tomatoes.

I ordered quite a few herb plants from this company. My experience with them is excellent. Herbs were packaged in protective wrappings and arrived in perfect condition. The plants were much larger than expected. They are extremely healthy and vigorous growers. I planted them 2 weeks ago and they have almost doubled in size, I am not referring to just a few plants, they are all beyond my expectations. I have scoured the local SC stores for herb plants and could not have done better, the variety they offer and their descriptions of the herbs both usage and growing, found on their web site, were very helpful.

I would rate this company with the highest recommendation.

I ordered two pepper and five heirloom tomato plants on Wednesday March 31 and scheduled them to ship out the following Tuesday so that they would arrive by Friday. My plants arrived bright and early Wednesday morning. This was a bit earlier than I expected but it certainly beats having them stay on a truck for days more. The plants arrived well-watered and the tomatoes were over a foot tall and 1/2 inch thick at the stem base. The plants are a little pricey, but the quality of plants and service is absolutely superb. Just three weeks after planting I already have 1 inch fruits!!!

I was researching heirloom tomato suppliers on the internet as my husband & I wanted to try them this year instead of the DIY store choices. Settled on The Chef's Garden because #1: they were right next to us (Tennessee), so I figured their selections would be happy in our climate; #2: and I was very impressed with their offerings and liked the fact that they focused on just a few catagories--not trying to sell lots of different plants. Received our plants exactly when promised & packaged exactly as shown on website. Excellent quality plants for a very fair price--including shpg cost.

Now we're waiting to taste the fruits of their suggestions and our labor! LOL. CFB :-)

I'd like to add a follow-up about the 3 Bay Laurel trees I got from The Chef's Garden 2 years ago: They were so beautiful I gave two of them as gifts, and I've been told they're doing fine.
The one I kept for myself is planted in a large pot that I bring in every fall to overwinter on the back porch, and is now nearly FIVE FEET tall! It's gorgeous & green & healthy and has never had a single problem whatsoever.
I often pick leaves for cooking and am constantly amazed at how much better everything tastes using fresh instead of dried. That tree is my absolute-favourite plant!

Service was fast and friendly. A small problem was remedied quickly. Great plants, but could use a little more description.

My order arrived in 2 days, extremely well packed, healthy, moist and flourishing. I am impressed by so much with this company. For one, they only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, ensuring that the plants you ordered arrive at your door before the end of the week. That way there's no danger of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere over the weekend. They are also very courteous, and the communication is outstanding-from the minute you place an order until your order shows up at your house.

The folks who run this company are also very polite, knowledgeable and they listen to suggestions from customers.

I had a tomato plant sent to my Mother as a surprise. She got it just 2 days later. It was in excellent condition. The plant was packed well and looked very healthy.
