We placed a sizeable order from Bamboo World. When the order arrived on Vancouver Island the plants were hedious.
We contacted Bamboo World who told us to plant the bamboo as they would grow as healthy plants and contact them in the spring if there were issues with the bamboo.
The alternative was to pay $100 and ship them back. We made our second mistake and planted the bamboo. Spring rolled around and majority of plants were dead. Contacted Bamboo World as stated and they had memory loss and informed us it was behond warranty period they could do nothing to help us and hung up.
Contacte the Better Business Bureau who informed us Bamboo World is not registered so they are unable to inforce
Save your money and learn from our mistake and stay away from Bamboo World, in my opinion they are con artists.

Last year I order 3 varieties of timber bamboo. All were 4-6ft tall when they arrived.
Two of the plants where grown into the pots with 3-6 rhizomes tying to break out (I had to slice 1 pot open with a knife). The 3rd was a disappointment . When the pot came off all the clay (not dirt) fell away and I was left with a root ball that would fit in a 1 quart pot. For this I paid $80.
I called Canada Bamboo...spoke with a guy.....was told if I understood how fast bamboo grows then I would not be complaining......if I wasn't happy then return the plant for a refund.......I was not I gong to pay $25 to return it. I wasn't the one that stuffed a quart of bamboo into a 5 gallon pot with 4 gallons of clay on the bottom.

This year the all the plants are doing great. The 2 more developed plants have 6-8 new shoots. They would go in 10 gallon pots while the 3rd plant has 3 new shoots. It would fit in a 2 gallon pot.

Overall, mixed feelings. My order was processed promptly and delivered without incident. But the plants themselves were minuscule. It doesnt sit right with me that I just spent 37.00 each for what looks to me like a freshly rooted cutting.

A friend who also ordered from them at the same time was even more disappointed. His plant arrived bone-dry and shocky looking. When he called to complain (feeling kind of ripped off) the person he spoke to answered back sharply and very quickly things got very unpleasant between them. He ended up being told never to shop from them again. Cognizant of the fact that D--- probably did vent a little, it still makes for a very poor customer interaction.

I made a sizable order on line. After waiting 2 weeks ( delivery stated 5 to 9 days) I sent an email to see if the order had been received and shipped. NO reply, A week later I sent a second request for order status. NO reply. At the 5th week I sent another email cancelling the order if they ever decided to look at it. Guess over the years they have gotten so big they dont need online sales.

I ordered a bamboo plant from this company last spring. They informed me that my choice was out of stock but that they had a lovely healthy substitution available. I decided to go with it. When it was shipped it took about 10 days by regular mail to get here. It looked like a child had stuffed it in a used cardboard box to ship it, and the plant consisted of 4 little twigs with NO ROOTS stuck in a pot. I had paid 35 dollars for that, plus shipping! An information sheet encouraged me to give it lots of TLC and it would miraculously come to life. It certainly did not, and I sent an e-mail to inform them of my displeasure. About a month later they responded, and sent yet another substitution (so I have no where near what I wanted initially). They kept me guessing as to when it would be shipped and never answered an e-mail afterward. It finally arrived, badly packaged but at least alive in August. Do yourselves a favour folks, and avoid this one like the plague!
