My 86-year old mother lives of her very limited social security. As a gift for my birthday, she ordered from one the New Holland's mail outs (early April, 2000). The check was cashed (of course!) and she has nothing to show for it. I was searching the web for a phone number when I came upon this site. I have attempted both numbers given. My mother is out about $30 she could ill-afford to lose. What's more, her trust level is damaged. Thanks for this informative site. Too bad we didn't find it until it's too late.

I placed an order with the New Holland Bulb Company back in March and have not yet received the plants ordered. I tried to call the numbers listed but they either ring and ring or are disconnected.

It seems the complaints keep adding up about this fraudulent business. I wish we had known about this site and all the complaints before we sent our checks to them. We placed two orders, one on 26 March and one on 17 April. Both checks have been cashed, but we have not received a thing. And if we do, I'm afraid of what we will get. Thank you for supplying the phone numbers, I will be contacting them as soon as possible.

Good grief, I too wish I had have seen this information before ordering from these people. We ordered the Mixed Hibiscus and the Hydrangea Hedge. They arrived and looked a little dry, but we added water and hoped to rescue them. We now have a bunch of dead sticks in the ground. It took a call to directory assistance to find a phone number - the number tells you they are closed. I agree that I too will never order from these people again!

I am usually leery of mail orders also but I had been looking for lemon grass plants for months now and when I saw that New Holland Bulb Co. had some I jumped on the opportunity. I spent less than $20 but it seemed worth it because of all the free stuff you are suppose to receive with the purchase. After sending the check and waiting I found this site with the all the complaints. I called the two numbers and sent a letter but have not made contact with this company. I put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I ordered some bushes and flowers in early February 2000; it's now early May. I still haven't received them! I will never order from this company again. They didn't have any problem cashing my check. But they do have a problem with sending out their orders.

I was very concerned when I learned that the parent company of Spring Hill Nurseries is the same as the New Holland Bulb Company. The New Holland Bulb Company should not be allowed in business. I received the seed mat, and nothing grew. I did not receive it until mid-June which was probably too late for planting. Still not one of the hundreds of seeds in the mat germinated. That is a miracle in itself! Consumers would be wise to contact their newspapers to inform them about companies that they are advertising are ripping consumers off!

I placed my order in May. They cashed my check, but it is now August and no sign of butterfly bushes or lemon grass. What an unprofessional company! I am so dismayed at the numerous complaints. I too was just looking for a phone number.

I purchased 2 butterfly bushes from New Holland Bulb last fall. They were very dry when they arrived. I planted them, but they never showed any signs of growing. I wrote for replacement plants this spring. They arrived today, June 1. Again they are in very dry condition, with dirt falling out. The date at the top of the invoice is 5/14/99. Either they wrote the order and didn't mail it timely, OR the post office kept them for whatever reason. Again, the plants do not appear to be healthy enough to grow. I will not order from New Holland Bulb again. However, I am going to use the phone number you provided and make person to person contact with the company tomorrow.

I'm also unsatisfied my order from New Holland, my order came after a long wait last fall (just two day before the frost hit us) in a cardboard that was badly wet down and when open I found a muddy mess of entangled plants. I had no idea what was what my invoice was in with the order so I could not even read it. Anyway, to make a long story short I put $75.00 of unknown plants into the ground and watch the frost destroy them. I will know in a few more weeks if any of the plants have survived the winter. I'm afraid that this is not anything I will do again. I'll use a walk in place so I can see what I am buying the next time. Good luck to all that have shared in experiences like mine.

I wish I had checked out this website before placing an $18 order with the New Holland Bulb Company for two "HUGE, GLORIOUS POUCHES OF PURPLE WAVE PETUNIAS" as advertised in the Sunday paper. The order was dated April 18; it's now May 25 and nothing has arrived. As noted by most of the previous writers, my check was cashed right away. On the next workday which is tomorrow, I plan to call the phone numbers I've found on this website.

I ordered the beginning of March, it is now the middle of April, and I haven't seen my order or heard from anyone. I found this site by trying to look up their number and never dreamed that I would find this much negative info. on this company. In fact, I didn't expect to find any. All I wanted was a phone number to call them at so that I could get my order straightened out. The planting season is passing me right by, I thought my plants would be in the ground by now. I too, regret that I did not look this company up BEFORE ordering. Unfortunately, I just assumed that since they put such an attractive, descriptive, well-laid-out flyer together, they must be a reputable company that handles their business in a professional manner. I spent about $60 with them, money that is hard to come by for my family. I have the cancelled/cashed checks from my bank.

I ordered 3 butterfly bushes from New Holland Bulb. Two months later I received three dead, shriveled plants whose only use is for my compost pile, but that too is unlikely, as I don't wish to contaminate the rest of my garden with some noxious disease. I don't think I'll be placing another order with new Holland Bulb again, and I'll direct my friends to follow suit!

Thank you for creating this informative page. I will NEVER ORDER from New Holland Bulb Company. My friend and I ordered Lemon Grass plant from this company several months ago. We never receive our plants. What frustrates me is that they had cashed our checks. Where is their conscience?

Like all your respondents I too have yet to receive the bulbs I ordered - it is now May 29th and they cashed my check on April 30th. It's ironic that they don't take credit cards - we'd all get refunds. I have tried calling the company but their phone is always busy - at every hour of the day.

I ordered from these people in March. I ordered the Butterfly Bushes. I finally got them May 31st. They were poorly contained and the box came creatively crushed. When I opened the soggy box, dirt fell everywhere. What was inside was a soggy mess of little hardly recognizable plants. I ushered them to my intensive care ward, I don't know yet if they will survive. I have my doubts. I too will never order from this company again. Apparently they don't list a real address or phone number because they don't want to be found.

I ordered a spring bulb collection from one of the flyers you get in the newspaper, and it took 4 months for the bulbs to show up! When I called (after going through information to obtain their phone number) the customer service person tried to convince me to cancel my order and accept a refund. The bulbs started showing up in November and continued through December, too late for me to plant. I won't be ordering from them again.

I recently ordered from New Holland Bulb Co. and received a package that contained unidentifiable plants. They were a green mushy mass. I cannot call back and report this because there isn't a phone number listed anywhere - not even on their invoices. I also received another part of the order yesterday and this was incomplete. If I had noticed that the phone number was not listed, I would not have ordered in the first place. These people spend a lot of money advertising, but don't put much in their shipping materials or in customer service.
