I ordered pink & red lilies. The price was good and the order arrived as stated & and in a healthy condition. This spring when they bloomed for the first time they were orange. All of them. I waited before complaining because, I thought maybe some would be orange, and some red & pink. But they were all orange. I called, and they said they would reship this fall. They were very nice about it....

I can't complain to much, cause I did get healthy bulbs...just wouldn't have planted orange flowers in front of a purple flowering bush...And they are resending the order. So in the end, I will be better off then I would have been had they gotten it right the first time.

Just keep in mind, you get what you pay for. If I chose to pay more, I probably would have gotten the right order the first time.

I ordered some bulbs on October 9, 2007. I never received and email confirmation about my order. After a month, I checked my order status on the website and it said "canceled". No emails or phone calls ever received and no bulbs received. I did email customer service. Let's see if they respond. There is a phone number to call but only on weekdays.

On November 22nd, 2007, Lseattle changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following:

I changed my rating to neutral instead of negative because I never received a product. One week after my original post, I received a post card from New Holland Bulb saying my order was canceled because the bulbs were Out of Stock. 5 weeks is too long to wait to find out something is Out of Stock. The company needs to send out more prompt communication.

On April 13, 2001 I mailed an order for twelve (12) blue moon hydrangea hedge plants. To my surprise, the check cleared on April 24, 2001. There I sat on may 28, 2001 wondering where my plants were. So I got on the internet and saw all those complaints and had to catch my breath. I also saw that the parent company was Foster & Gallagher. On Tuesday I called Foster and Gallagher. It took two (2) transfers, but I finally got someone who could help me; so I thought. She did find my order, but stated that New Holland didn't have a ship date yet. So she gave me new Holland's Customer service number and instructed me to call and ask when they plan to ship the plants. I have tried to call this number 10 times today. Each time I have called the phone rings maybe seven (7)Or eight (8) times then disconnects me.I tried calling foster & Gallagher back, this time they only transferred me one (1) time. The lady took my name, order # and phone number and said she would have someone call me back. That was at 1:00pm today. It is now 6:15pm and no one has returned my call. Tomorrow I will call Foster & Gallagher back and request to speak with a supervisor….

I too bought from this company. I placed my order back in March, the check was cashed promptly! I still don't have any flowers today May 25, 2001. We recently bought a house and have done a lot of landscaping, we are waiting for the Hydrangea Hedges to complete our landscape! Needless to say I don't think I will be receiving them anytime soon, or even alive (from what I've read!)

My office manager ordered bulbs from the New Holland Bulb company March 20, 2001. As of May 8, 2001 her check has been cashed but we have not received any bulbs. We were able to contact the company, who was friendly and promised a refund. They said that our bulbs should arrive by July and that we should refuse shipment and then a refund check would be sent.

I finally received the purple wave hanging plants that I ordered. There were supposed to be 48 plants but I could not find anything other than a green rotted mess in brown paper sitting on top of plastic holders. They arrived regular U.S. mail. They had been dead for some time. After 2 months I was disappointed and called the number above. A very pleasant voiced woman answered and I shared my findings. After questioning me about them really being dead she offered to replace them or send a refund in 2 to 3 weeks. I opted for the check and I'll let you know. I do not know how they make money. [Update] I received a check 3 weeks after the complaint for the full amount.

I have used MBC and New Holland and for the most part received what I had paid for. What do you expect to receive when you only pay a few dollars for plants? If you want good plants then buy from your local garden center where you can see what you are getting and paying for. I feel there are a lot of cheap people complaining because they did get what they paid so little for. When I received anything from these companies that was DOA a phone call usually did the trick and my money was refunded or a new plant sent though I must say sometimes for a 2.00 plant I just didn't take the time.

I ordered the 3-in-1 Butterfly bushes. They took forever to get here, and when they did they were dead and dry. I planted them hoping they may live, but to no avail. I called the company's number listed on this page and got through on the first try. The representative was helpful and asked if I'd like a replacement or a refund. I asked her if she thought there was a chance the plants would be in better shape next time. She said they've been having trouble with shipments to California, because the boxes are marked perishable and there is some kind of infestastion that is causing the plants to be held up in the inspection station for an undeterminable length of time. She suggested I request a refund, which I did. I should be receiving it in 2-3 weeks by mail.

I came upon this website looking for info on Holland Bulb. I, too, ordered a butterfly bush in April and it died. I want to thank the person who supplied the toll free number. I called it, got through on the first try, and was told that my money would be refunded. Let's see how long it takes.

We also ordered the Butterfly Bush 3-N-1 only to have a withered mass show up in the mail with little soil in the pot and dangling roots in a box. I've called the company and requested new plants. We'll see how good they are the second time around!

I currently have a pending order with the New Holland Bulb co. that was placed 6 weeks ago and should of arrived by now. After reading the various responses from other customers though , I really don't expect much, if anything at all . Fortunately, I am leery of mail order businesses, so my order was small enough to just write off to poor judgment. My concern about the order is what brought me to your web page, and I think it is superb; full of information for the wise and/or wary.

I received my shipment of butterfly bushes a couple months after placing the order with the New Holland Bulb Company. All the bushes appeared to be dead upon arrival, and I took it upon myself to nurse them back to health for over two weeks, but to no avail. They're still lifeless. Thanks to an Internet search engine, I was able to quickly find a toll-free phone listing for the company. Although I didn't connect on the first call, I got through on the third attempt and spoke to a courteous representative who agreed to refund my credit card account. Time will tell whether the company follows through on the credit.
