I contacted many other ebay bidders and they too are getting no plants and no return emails or nasty ones. One email I received was sent by a lady that STILL has not received her plants after a month so she left negative feedback. It was from Plant ranch stating if she removed the Negative she placed on his feedback Then he would send her a refund. BLACKMAIL??? I guess i hit a sore spot. This is how professional he is, this is HIS comment about his customers: "...YES TODAY IS DEALING WITH ASSS HOLE DAY. AND PEOPLE THAT DRESS UP SONS IN WOMENS CLOTHES LIKE YOU..." The latter comment is because I had my son put on a CAPE I was selling so I could take the photo... I also made a joke in the ad " don't mind the hairy legs" I received negative feedback from him after I left this message here. So i wrote him and asked why good people are getting bad feedback. He is leaving negative feedback for those of us that have asked for money back or the plants we PAID for..... He also sent this THREAT to me: you have some real issues. thats ok tho its going to be hot at the end for you.. you keep thinking what you want. its too bad you can see the nice things in life. DONT EMAIL ME AGAIN PLEASE this is a formal request, further emails will not be tolerated due to such content What does HOT AT THE END mean???? He is in way too deep and is mad at us who ask for what is ours....Thanks for reading I am good person and don't want others to be at a loss for money. I have spoken to Darin on the phone and had him talk me through things, and NEVER was he curt, angry, or left me to believe that I was as dumb as I was...I am still learning, but with gentle patience, Darin has even talked me through other ebay problems. I always send a A+++ as soon as I pay for my plants b/c I have NO doubt that I am gonna get my money's worth and then some..... I have gotten extra plants, something "new" to try, all in the name of a wonderful business person. I have also dealt with Tracey,an employee there, and I know that she shares Darin's love of people and plants. I have read some of the neg feedback on the ebay website, and again here, at this site, and have to believe that the people who say these terrible things have no self-esteem of their own, and therefore can NEVER be satisfied. I feel very sorry for them, and hope that someday, they will feel good enough about themselves, that they can give their fellow man/woman a break, and not expect total perfection. Which of course is totally impossible anyway. I will continue to be a faithful and happy customer of Plant Ranch, and know that things will settle down soon, and Please think before you write....words can never be taken away, and really do hurt more that "stick & stones". |

All that for a little less than $30.00 including postage. I contacted them and received word that I could return everything. Apart from the lack of quality, there is the isue of deceptive advertising. The outfit reminds me of some companies that are no longer here, but resurface under another name. Buyer beware!!! I ordered in mid to late fall and frankly didn't feel like planting anything so I kept the bareroot plants wrapped and damp all winter where they proceed to sprout and leaf out! They may not make it outside but not due to anything Plant Ranch did. I just recieved an order of jasmine and honeysuckle, both are in great condition...small but very green and sending up shoots and leaves like crazy. Bet I'm gonna plant these this time! |

They would not reply to my e-mail messages, and in order to contact them I finally had to make a long distance phone call. I will not purchase plants from this business again. I have plants from 10 diffrent places in my yard all from this year and they are the only ones to all go - sure one or two from here and there but nothing like this. I sent an email to them about the issue and asked for replacements nothing. I sent another email to ask about a new order (a ploy just to see if they were really just putting me off or if they did not want to refund or replace) they responded within a few hours! I had plants from them for the last several years and they are fine it is just the newest shippment - they sent out dying plants and they died. Now I am out for a bunch of dead worthless plants. The weeping cherry was just a stick, and both the weeping cherry and the dogwood tree had masking tape with the tree type on them. The 3 dwarf mugo pines weren't more than 6" tall, which was fine--but the top 2" or so was already brown with dried up needles. I planted them, but the pines aren't doing very well, and I'm already planning what I will put there instead. It's too early to tell about the two trees--a friend told me it looked as if my young child has just stuck a stick in the ground. There are enough mail order companies out there that I do not expect to order from Plant Rach again. |

The shipping was slow and though I had e-mailed to request a ship date, the only reply I ever got was to allow two weeks for shipping. I believe it took closer to three weeks, but it was well worth the wait. I had ordered about 21 items and about 19 items were delivered. I will write back and request that the other two items be sent now, wish me luck! The trees, flowers, and shrubs all had good root systems and were green and leafy or at least showing buds. Would definitely recommend to the patient gardener. On June 26th, 2004, Heatherweh added the following: In continuation- Darin was very nice in his e-mail and agreed to send my plants immediately with an extra for the trouble! Very fast delivery! Everything was in tip-top condition except for the dwarf lime tree. I gave it a week and a half, and it turned brown. I emailed Darwin and told him the story and asked if he could send out another one. I got an email reply within 2 hours, he said that he would be happy to send another free one out to me. The prices are good and if things go wrong he works hard to fix the problems. I recieved prompt replies to my e-mails, I treated him with respect and he treated me with respect. I'm satisfied. On March 23rd, 2005, Crimson changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following: None of the 4 Paulowana trees I bought from him survived past a month, I tried everything potting them in Miracle Grow soil protecting them from any wind or cold... but in the end none survived, one never even got leaves.... and YES, THEY WERE DEAD, not dormant. When the "stem/roots" biodegrade into the soil it's obvious they are not in anyway alive. I have no doubt I will recieve a unpleasant e-mail for this entry, but thought the truth should be known. On March 24th, 2005, Crimson changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: Ok, I've gotta give them a A for effort, they genuinely seem to be trying to please. I would not be adverse to ordering from them once again, perhaps Empress Trees are difficult to keep alive when they are young. On April 22nd, 2005, Crimson changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following: Sigh... I give up. This is the last time I'm trying Paulownia trees. I bought two, through Ebay. They were the smallest ever, ice cube size. One died immediately, by the next day after recieving, the other is not growing or putting out any new leaves.... even after 2 weeks, full sun, Miracle Grow potting soil, daily watering. I give up! This is the 6th tree from the same grower, guess I'm a slow learner, all up to this have died within a month or less. No, I don't want free replacements and yes, I know I'm not being fair... that I'm going to recieve a e-mail from the owner of Plant Ranch right after this is posted, please don't. I don't want to try any more! I'm giving you the "benefit of a doubt"/ a neutral instead of a negative because you still seem to want to "try again", but I don't. I have always used Ebay to order and I've never been disappointed. I always get quality plants and fast shipping. The descriptions on Ebay are always accurate and I know exactly what I'm getting when I bid. I bought two weeping cherry trees last year and they are thriving. I just received an order yesterday of 5 forsythia plants, 1 dogwood, and 1 tulip tree. I put the plants in water overnight, as the instructions indicated, and the plants were full of life and ready to plant today. One other note, when I used Ebay to look for nursery stock, I always choose to search by seller (Plantranch). I don't even bother with the other sellers because I'm so pleased with the service I receive from Plantranch. They are good people. |

The redwoods lacked needles on arrival. I soaked and planted them anyway. They died. It is not worth mailing the dead plants back with the shipping and packing charges. I tried e-mailing but there appears to be a form e-mail that is sent to everyone. It was something about e-bay and that they would leave a good reply after I left a good reply. I do not use e-bay so I had no idea what this meant. I would not buy from them again.
