I bought two 'Mikawa Yatsabusa' from Dune Lane in 2014. Was very pleased with the quality, so purchased a 'Yuri Hime Sport' and a 'Sharp's Pygmy' today. Mike helped me find the right cultivar for my particular application. Knowledgeable and professional. Top notch trees at fair prices.

I recently purchased two Japanese Maples from Dune Lane Nursery. One is a 3 year/gallon Inaba Shadire and a 5 year/gallon Orangeolla. Mike, one of the owners was extremely prompt in responses to my email questions and he was also very honest with his prices and shipping.

I received the trees just last week and was happy when I opened the shipping box to find some nicely branched trees with pretty nice graft unions. Since the ground is still frozen (Northern Ohio) I had to pot them up and wait to put them in the ground until spring or whenever the ground thaws out. Mike sent a follow up email to make sure I received the trees and reminded me to pot them up ASAP.

If I had to sum up Dune Lane Nursery in two words they would PROFESSIONAL and FRIENDLY. I will be purchasing again in the very near future.

Recently I purchased two Japanese Maples from Dune Lane Nursery. Mike worked with me to plan the best trees for my area and the time of delivery. When they arrived last Wednesday I was impressed with the health of the trees and the incredible packing. I have ordered Japanese Maples off the internet before from top maple sellers and these were by far the best I've ever gotten.

Emailed questions about Jap Maples and varieties available for my area. Immediate response with all questions answered. Paid for trees thru PAYPAL and trees arrived in great shape and I was very impressed with them. I think I got a great deal on these trees. Plan to take a trip down to their nursery next to purchase more trees.

Our experience with Dune Lane Nursery could not have been better! From the excellent customer service to the helpful advice on planting and maintaining the new tree, Mike, the owner, provides the extra personalized care that is no longer available with most larger-sized nurseries. Our initial consultation via phone regarding plant selection and current stock was informative and professional. Mike is passionate about his trees and equally concerned of the customer's satisfaction. The Japanese maple arrived in mint condition, no small feat considering it was over 5' tall and was shipped to nothern Indiana during a normal heat wave. We strongly recommend Dune Lake Nursery.

Very clean graft, the tree was extremely well packed and after a couple of weeks the tree is still doing very well despite the extreme heat this time of year in the Piedmont of Virginia. I think we will set, yet another record for the hottest summer, The fact that the tree came form one confederate state to another confederate state is part of the equation for success. I also think a tree can adapt to a cooler climate more readily then to a hotter climate. So if you are hitting warmer temperatures their trees have adapted, if cooler no worries. I can only wish my other trees were as nice.

A superb family, a superb nursery. I recently bought two Japanese maples (Red Dragon & Tamukeyama) from Mike. I am so impressed with the entire purchasing experience that I can never say enough good words about Mike and the trees I received. He surely knows the best way to nurture his plants and pamper his customers. This is my first time buying from Mike and I'm not surprised at all to read all the possitive feedbacks from other customers. I'll definitely get more trees from Mike.

P.S. Of course, Bridget is behind Mike all the time. She deserves the honor as well.

My husband and I have just completed what we hope are many transactions with Mike from Dune Lane Nursery. After MUCH research into Japanese Maples and wonderful correspondence from Mike, we decided to drive the five hours to visit his nursery. We were looking for an Inaba Shidare and Crimson Queen. What we found SURPASSED our wildest expectations. Mike not only has thousands of maples to choose from, but he is extremely knowledgeable and has taken wonderful care of all of his plants. The colors, sizes and types of maples are worth the trip. I cannot express how happy we are with the 20 maples we came home with. He has a large selection of beautiful coral bark maples, virdis maples, and all kinds of red maples. Best of all he is patient and very willing to help you pick out just the right one or ones in our case! My husband and I are already planning on another trip. Absolutely our best nursery experience yet! Great job Mike!

My husband and I were in the market for Japanese Maples. We learned about Dune Lane Nurseries from a friend. We contacted Mike and he gave us an extensive tour of his gardens and nursery. What a magificant wonderland of plants and trees. Mike's knowledge, care and abilies were obvious throughout our visit. He is extremely kind and was willing to spend time explaining the exact care the Maples needed. His prices were by far the best we have found anywhere. However, we are willing to pay extra for the customer service that Mike provides and fortunately you don't have to with Dune Lane Nurseries which I think makes it our "secret garden". I would certainly recommend this nursery to future customers!

The japanese maples were healthy and priced reasonably for the size (appx 3 or 4 yr old plant) even with the shipping charge, which is getting higher every year. I mail order Japanese Maples to get a variety to add to my collection and have gotten burned a few times.

Apparently this is a family business and consequently there is some delay in getting responses to email. All in all, a good experience which is not always the case in mail ordering plants.

I am placing a second order this week!

I ordered a Japanese Maple from Mike at Dune Lane Nursery. He provided the best mail order customer service that I have received from any vendor. More important, the tree was properly packaged, shipped when the weather allowed and arrived in great shape. Most important, the tree was an outstanding example of this cultivar and less expensive than cultivars of the same size purchased from other mail order vendors. I very strongly recommend Dune Lane Nursery.

I just received my 6 japanese maples from Mike. I can't even begin to tell you how pleasureable this experience has been! Packaging: excellent! Some dirt in tact around the roots with wet paper towel & newpapers rubberbanded around. I received them promptly as well. Service: beyond what I ever could dream from someone! He wasn't entirely happy with the growth of 1 of them so he sent me an extra of the same to make up for it! In my honest opinion, not necessary...it looked fine to me! On top of that, he was concerned I didn't have enough 3 gallon pots to pot them up in so the next day he sent me out 10 3 gallon pots free!!! On top of that he has taken the time to explain the soil I should use & the fertilizing practices that I should maintain. Mike is a dream & will be ordering from him again & again & again!! Thanks Mike!

We just bought a japanese maple from Dune Lane this past weekend. The experience could not be better and the tree could not be more beautiful. We found Dune Lane through an internet search to learn more about varieties. To our surprise, they are located near our home and Mike from Dune Lane bent over backwards to arrange his schedule, on a weekend, to meet us on a day and time convenient for us. When we arrived, I was struck by how many trees and plants Dune Lane has available. Mike spent over an hour with us proudly showing us his varieties and available stock and educating us as to what he would recommend. And the price is so much better than you will find anywhere else. What a fantastic experience and what a pleasure it is to have met Mike. We will be buying many more trees from him in the future. I suggest you do the same.

GREAT experience with Dune Lane. Totally worth the trip and effort from Chapel Hill, NC. The coral bark maples are planted and already provide a dramatic impact. We were in the market for 6+ coral bark maples for our landscaping project post house construction. Retail prices everywhere within our area were ridiculous AND nobody had the number we wanted in order to line a stone walkway. After internet research and many phone calls, we contacted Dune Lane. YIPEE. Mike said they had thousands I think, but that he feared shipping so many to us due to the potential cost and damage. So....I drove about 9 hours roundtrip to pick out our trees on a Saturday. Mike was most helpful and it was so nice to hand pick our trees from such a huge selection. THANKS Mike and Dune Lane!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I had questions regarding which japanese maple(s) to order and concerns regarding shipping and planting time. Mike was very helpful in both respects, not just responding to my email but actually calling me. I wasn't available so he left me a voicemail with his home phone number! Can't say enough about the proactive, friendly nature of customer service. I literally wondered if I was the only customer they had... but clearly I'm not. :) The trees arrived October 8, exactly when Mike said they would, and they are GORGEOUS. Much bigger than I expected too. I ordered a bloodgood and a coral bark. I also got a follow up email to make sure I received the trees okay and he provided me with planting tips in the same email. I could not be happier- oh, and the prices were great too! I paid the same price for my last bloodgood and it was less than half the size of my Dune Lane trees. Thanks for a great transaction!!!
