This is our 2nd year ordering from Baker Creek. Really like everything about the company and am happy with their seeds. We did get some different tomato seeds mixed in with the ones that we had ordered but this turned out to be a blessing and we have ordered the mix-up seeds this year because we liked the tomatoes so much.

Plan on visiting them sometime and my wife & I are very pleased to do business with them.

I want to say that I am new to gardening, but Baker Seed has made my start rewarding and so much fun. the people at Baker Seed are so friendly and helpful. I tell everyone about this fabulous company. I hope to visit them in person soon. The information they give me on the seeds is so helpful. I never knew that there are so many varieties of seeds. The only problems I have had we of my own fault from my lack of experience but I am learning. I have made my garden bigger for the last three years because I want to try something new in the way of plants. This has turned out to be a wonderful hobby for me. Great selection of rare heirloom varieties. They have a very interesting catalog with fantastic photographs. My order arrived super fast and they even included bonus seeds. They are not certified organic, but offer untreated seeds that are all open-pollinated with no PVP or hybrid varieties.

Just starting with an Heirloom Garden, and found these guys. There shipping was prompt, and I received them perfectly. I hope I get a good germination result from these seeds, and will definitely will be ordering from them again.

I think this company is the BEST! Incredibly fast to ship the seeds, I have always been sent 1 or 2 free packages of complimentary seeds, have had good luck with everything, and they stand behind anything they send. Received my seeds and a hardcover book three days after placing my order. Faster than expected! They charged me $3.50 for shipping and it cost them $7.48. I can't complain. Great selection of seeds. I will be back for more next year.

I love this company, the seed always germinates, the packets are beautiful and the people are amazing. They make you feel like family and they care about you. I love that there are so many varieties to choose from, varieties you would not find in other catalogs. It's so much fun to try something new. I have been buying from them for the last six years but this is my first review of them. This is a great company to do business with. For me their shipping has always been fast but I try to order very early in the season so I don’t get caught in the spring rush. This past order arrived in just 4 days after placing it. Their customer service has been outstanding! If you do happen to have a problem with an order they will fix it. They are one of the most honest companies I have ever dealt with and that’s why I keep going back :)
I don’t mean to be rude but to those that have had a germination problem I’m sorry to hear that but some seeds are just plain hard to start. If you start indoors use a heat mat it will help drastically. I planted habanero seeds from Baker Creek that were 3 years old and the germination rate was still very respectable.

My order came very quick. I am excited, this will be my first year at our "farm" and my second garden since I did a quick one while moving in last May.
I was a bit puzzled by my order, the catalog said $3.50 shipping but my online order was charged $7.95 (with no other options). Huh.

I have ordered from Baker Creek for 2 years now and am getting ready to order some more seeds this year. My experience with BC has all been awesome. I received my packages quickly both times I ordered and had amazing results of germination. The only thing that would probably help with a first time gardener (which is what I consider myself) would be a little bit more detail on growing instructions. Most had pretty good instructions, and even if they didn't it only tooks a few minutes to google what I had questions about. The things that attracted me to BC in the first place was that all the seeds were GMO free, heirlooms and that even though they were not labeled organic, they have said that all of their growers use organic growing methods. A good potion of their growers just can't afford the price tag that comes with being certified. I also feel that the seeds are a good deal. The seeds stay good even if they aren't that years seeds. The first year I didn't realize that you could store your unused seeds in a sealed container in your freezer, and I thought the seeds wouldn't be any good. Everything produced, and I am going to try the seeds I have left over from my first and second order to see if they grow. All in all, they are an amazing company that I have talked to all my friends and family that would listen. Way to be awesome Baker Creek!

This is my forth year dealing with Baker Creek. They have always shipped fast. I always get what I ordered. And have never had any problems with germination. I will continue to buy from them.....probably forever

This is a fantastic seed company. Out of all companies around selling seeds, Baker Creek has the best germination rate, highest quality, and definitely the largest collection of seeds offered. What brought Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds to my attention was the fact that they signed the non-gmo seed pledge, and over the past summer I certainly was not disappointed. Thank you so much for all the work you do in providing these seeds to the public.

I dislike rating any seed company negatively. Maybe they have too many irons in several worthy fires.

On Jan 4. 2013 I ordered several varieties of tomatoes, winter squash, and peppers from Baker Creek. I am an active member of another site where we grow and discuss processing the hottest peppers in the world. "Supers" or super-hot peppers, are often very difficult to germinate. I'm also a member of another site where we grow and discuss tomatoes. I've been growing from seed for a long time. I order seed from a lot of companies. I do save seeds. However, in order to be able to save and share seeds, the seed has to germinate and grow into a plant. Baker Creek seed did not germinate; when I recently contacted the company via email they said they'd refund, substitute, or reimburse me for the seed order, as they will do that for one year within date of purchase.

I decided to give them another chance but not with the same seed that did not germinate this past spring. I communicated with "Randel" via email. He was grateful that I was giving them another chance and even though I was losing $1.75 on the substitution order, I just wanted substitute seeds. I didn't want the same things that didn't germinate upon repeated attempts at germination last spring.

Randel told me that he would be or a sales rep would be in touch with me when the new substitute order shipped. Yesterday, 6 packs out of the SAME ORDER, of 12 packs of seeds, that I placed on Jan 4., 2013 that 1. did not germinate and 2. I didn't want to try again (and again and again and again) came in the mail. Randel was not "in touch with" me; no "sales rep was in touch" with me: they just sent "something" out.

At this point, I just want them to reimburse me. I feel like Charlie Brown kicking a football that Lucy's going to jerk out from under me with this company.

I have ordered several different types of seeds from different orders. I have never had a problem with the orders. The seeds have all germinated well. And I will be buying more seeds from them in the future.

I purchased several packages of seeds from Baker Creek for a few years now. They are a great company and the product is good, better than some others that I have bought from and definitely better than what I can purchase locally. My friends are amazed that I am able to purchase seeds from all over the world, especially the tomatoes from Russia and the peppers from Asia and Europe. The Rampicante squash is particularly interesting and the only one that I have ever planted that is bug resistant. I have them growing on my 6 foot cedar fence from top to bottom. People walk by and stare at this unique plant, which is also very tasty especially grilled. I have my fingers crossed with the black tomatoes and will wait and see whether they are better than some of the hybrids I obtained from other seed companies.

The bottom line is that I like this company and hope they keep in business.

Ordered Scarlet Runner Bean and Tendercrisp Celery seeds from Baker Creek. Had high success with both types and am very happy with my purchase. They sent a bonus pack of melon seeds with my order which was a very nice surprise. Will definitely order from them again.

I have been growing vegetables from Baker Creek seeds for the last three years. I always have great germination rates even on seed I have saved from previous seasons. This spring I planted peas I had left over from 2011 with at least 90% germination rate! This year I planted over 50 melon and squash plants. I sprouted twice as many between moist paper towels placed on top the fridge, just incase some didn't make it. They all sprouted, every single one. No offence to anyone who has had germination problems but it must have been something you did. I really like their descriptions of the different varieties and they seem accurate to me. They have sent a free sample pack every year with my order. I don't know what else I can say except, I love Baker Creek and will continue to recommend them to family and friends.

My grandson gave me a gift certificate from Baker Creek. What a great company!! Their service was very prompt and the seeds nearly jumped out of the soil. This first-rate experience generated a second order and they came through like the first time. Professional, polite, and friendly.

Baker Creek was very professional and prompt with the seeds. I received them well before the stated delivery time and had no problems with germination. Also, the complimentary seed packet was much appreciated. I can't wait to try them.

The majority of my seeds from this company did not germinate. I have had to replant all of my beans with other seed and over half of my melons. I started many pepper varieties indoors and got average germination on them but not excellent by any means. I am very disappointed...I have never had this many seeds not come up before. I am sure it is not a planting mistake of mine or an issue of timing because I planted other seed at the same time from elsewhere and all of that stuff came up while the Baker Creek seed did not! I would love to be able to give this company my support in the future by ordering from them again because I believe in their mission, but unfortunately I am not confident in their seed.

I ordered a good amount of heirloom seeds from this company. The order was shipped promptly and contained MUCH more seeds than stated. One pack contained 60 seeds, and was only supposed to contain 10! I had great germination and all my plants are growing well. Will definitely order again!!

I always order through Baker Creek because they have the highest germination rate of all the seeds I plant. I can't wait to receive their beautiful colored catalog each year. Fantastic international and hard to find selections. I have never had a problem with shipping and their rate is very cheap. I also appreciate that the staff personally signs my order and says thank you. This truly American company is really something special!

I got my seeds in five days! Plus, they sent me a free pouch of red romaine seeds, which coincidentally I have been using a lot in my smoothies. I am very pleased to say the least. I will be continuing to use this site to order my seeds from now on.

I've been ordering from Baker Creek for years - LOVE them. From a few packets of seeds to several dozen I've never had a problem. Germination rate was excellent.

My go to place for hard to find herb seeds. All of the seeds I've ordered in the past have germinated and done well.

Responsive and helpful customer service. Once they accidentally sent my lettuce seeds instead of chard. When I emailed them about it they told me to keep the lettuce seeds and then sent me the chard.

I ordered some seeds from Baker Creek and received them within 9 days. I received every seed type ordered and they added in a free Carrot (Parisienne) seed package. Thank you for a good experience and I will be using you again.

I ordered seeds from rareseeds.com back in April- its May 10th and I still have received NOTHING. It is now too late to start the tomatoes and peppers I ordered so the growing season is wasted as is my money and the supplies I bought to grow these seeds. This is my first experience with this company and it will also be my last. Extremely slow shipping and lousy customer service. I DO NOT recommend this company and next year I will return to Burpee for my plant and seed needs.

My experiences with Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds have been nothing but great. In addition to their philosophy, their products are always superior to other seed companies in germination and performance.

Though I am in Texas, I feel like I am dealing with my neighborhood farm store. Such customer service and attention to detail is rare. At age 70 I don't write too many fan letters, but consider this one.

Received my order in a very timely manner. Quite pleased with the selection and service. I won't comment on germination rates because I believe there are more factors involved than Baker Creek has control over. I will more than likely order from them again.

Their prices are reasonable. Their delivery is prompt. Their seeds germinate. Their collection of seeds is very extensive and diverse, which is fun and adventuresome. It is also most useful, as I garden in a somewhat difficult environment (central Texas, with drought, heat, etc.) I am able to find seeds from plants which thrive in similar environments, and expand the range of what I can grow here.

This is without a doubt the #1 seed company around. Great seeds.Great and fast service. The most kind and friendly people around. They also care about preserving our foods. These things speak well of the character and morals of this company and its people! Oh I 've been gardening since the early 60's when my dad made me. I miss him.

Excellent customer service, super-fast shipping and high quality products. This is my second year ordering from Baker Creek. Besides, their catalog is so superb that I keep it handy all year long. Can't wait to start this year's seeds!

I like shopping at Baker Creek and I trust in the customer service. I buy from a few places, but the bulk of my seed comes from Baker Creek. I have the best germination rates here, the shipping is affordable, the selection wide and the customer service great. I have only had a few, small issues, over the years here. Once there were weavils in my beans, but within 3 days the company had replaced the pack with 2 packs free from weevils. Every seed company I have bought from has had some small issue here and there- that happens; I don't mind as long as it is fixed and I am acknowledged. This is the main reason I shop at Baker Creek. I do wish the company would add more planting information on seed packets. I know DTM is not supposed to be accurate, but I find those numbers useful as a guide. They should be on the packets of seeds.

Got everything i ordered in 6 days plus a free gift pack of lettuce seeds. Very happy.
