I will not use this company again. I purchased a tree from them and paid for it. I was told PayPal had made an error. Even though the price was for both credit card and PayPal, and it was in the cart where the error occurred, not with PayPal. I guess they felt it was easier to blame PayPal rather than accepting responsibility. Nevertheless, I agreed it was an error, but felt that the company should honor posted prices. I tried several times to work out a compromise (maybe at cost or something), but they would offer nothing. This is a good indicator of what the company thinks of its customers and clearly shows its customer service philosophy. As one other negative poster commented, this company is a lot of talk, but very little walk. I have no confidence if something is not right, this company will fix.

The minute we received your order for (2) Pristine apple trees we noticed that the price indicated was $2.00 per tree totaling $4.00, we immediately went to our website to make sure that our pricing posted was correct, which it was, Pristine Apple Tree 2 year old $26.00. That it showed up in the cart as $2.00 said to us that it was more than likely a PayPal error, in fact it was an error from the website to the cart. When you saw that it came up to that amount if you had called we would have taken a look at how this had happened, instead you ordered 2 Pristine apple trees. We always put our customers first, establishing a comfortable relationship with them to the point that they can call us anytime with any questions they have, you are not a past customer of ours and probably unaware of this. We emailed you as to the problem, at which time you demanded that we “honor the price posted” and then felt it necessary to post a negative rating on Dave’s Garden before we had even finished discussing what had happened. The price posted was $26.00 not $2.00, the Pristine Apple Tree is a patented tree which by law we are not allowed to graft here at our nursery therefore we have to bring it in from the nursery that holds the patent. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you have a great growing season. "

I ordered peach trees in January, expecting them to be shipped in February. In March I inquired to status because our growing season was beginning. Told trees would be shipped soon but weeks later they were not. Cancelled the order, which cost me about $4 due to PayPal. Despite this, a box with trees arrived in mid-april. They were dry and appeared dead. Brown follage was on some. Had they been alive I would have mailed a check but the trees were dead so I discarded them.
I was disappointed and felt Johnson Nursery had little concern for me the customer. They talked a good talk but didn't walk the walk.

We feel the need to respond to your negative posting about Johnson Nursery because as you can see it is very RARE for us to have a negative posting. First I would like to say that every shipping season we will get one maybe two orders, that seem to just not run smoothly, yours was the one for the 2010-2011 shipping season. We received your order on January 3, 2011 via PayPal with the intention of shipping your trees in February as requested, our weather here forced us to push the ship date of your order back along with a few hundred others. We had the worst winter here in many years, snow and ice which actually closed our schools for 11 days. As we were trying to get back on track you called and cancelled your order which we promptly refunded back to you through PayPal in March. We went ahead and shipped you the trees in early April our of good faith to try to please our customer. The trees had just started to break dormancy when we shipped them and the leaves must have turned brown during the shipping process. We feel that you would have had some success with the trees had you planted them at that time instead of throwing them away, we did not expect any payment for these trees. We were trying to rectify a bad situation, but it was not to be. We think that 2 Negatives and 44 Positives is not at all a bad ratio, although we would like to be perfect, there is only One who is perfect.
