Comments regarding Just Fruits and Exotics

They have healthy starter plants and a decent selection. Plants are a little pricey for their size but not outrageous.

I've done business with Just Fruits a few times, and for the most part, I've been satisfied. However, my latest interaction with them left a sour taste in my mouth.

I had ordered a "3-gallon" muscadine from their Web site. Guess what? They sent me a 1-gallon instead! I told them about this, and they apologized that it was only a "2 gallon," and gave me 50% off. They said that the problem was due to "Web site" issues. However, I sent them a picture, and pointed out that it was NOT even a 2-gallon, but in fact a 1-gallon instead. They never responded. (I thought about disputing the charge with my credit-card company, but decided not to since they gave me a discount.)

Basically, they should've completely refunded my money for the muscadine. Worst of all, they are very deceptive, trying to pass off a 1-gallon plant as a 3-gallon, and then as a 2-gallon.

Last fall, I had ordered a "2-gallon" muscadine from them, and now I realize (which I didn't at the time) that it was in fact a 1-gallon size as well.

They still haven't updated their Web site to reflect the true size, so I have to assume that they are intentionally being dishonest.

In a nutshell, my advice is not to order any muscadine plants from them. Or if you do, please realize that they are all 1 gallon, regardless of what the description says.

Another minor problem I've had with them is that they can be difficult to reach by phone. However, all the other plants I've ordered from them have been pretty good.

Incredibly high prices, nearly double the average price I have seen shopping about 40 other nurseries (so far). I have never heard of any type of business claiming it cost them more to do mail order than the old fashioned way either.
