Maryott's Gardens

I made a large purchase from this company last summer, and with bonus plants received eleven cultivars. The plants were sizable, and the bonus plants were awesome. However, none of the plants returned this year. Ordinarily, I would attribute it to our Ohio winter, but all of my other daylilies are thriving, including those purchased from other companies in Texas, Florida, and California. Further, this company no longer sells daylilies, so I am unable to replace them.

I started this order back on July 22 when I goggled Bela Sara hoping to find a good price. I found Maryott's and a good price. I kept adding to the order and ended up with 37 daylilies. I had four orders all together and was about to put in a fifth one and realized I had run up a big bill and asked if he would give me anything on list #5 as a bonus, I read them off and he said you get them all as a bonus. The list totaled 96.00 and I got three of the weekly specials worth 230.00 plus he tossed in a few more, including two brand new introductions, selling for 100.00 each. These are excellent daylilies with good budding and branching! So when I got my order I had 15 bonuses all together! These Daylilies are all huge big double fans and triple fans. Nothing small, even the free ones are huge. I really loved my Maryott experience, I love the website and browsing there. I enjoyed talking to Bill on the phone and the emails from Marilyn. The communication was great and the order was perfect in every way. I could not have asked for more. Bill Maryott is very generous and very meticulous, he did not miss one word I said. Everything I asked for was there. :)) Amazing attention to detail, Great packing, Great Company!!

WOW....This was my first time ordering from Maryott's, but it will not be my last. Bill, the owner communicated with me as soon as he received my order. I was allowed to list my choices of bonus plants. My fans arrived on the promised date and they were huge. I ordered three cultivars and received two bonus plants. All plants were healthy and large. I received two or three fans for each cultivar. I may get a few blooms this season. I have never received such large fans. I am so happy with them that I am placing another order this week. I highly recommend Maryott's to anyone seeking large healthy plants and generous bonus plants.

I just received my order from Maryott's Gardens. This was my very first order from them and all I can say is "WOW"! Bill Maryott was very quick to reply to my emails and explained all my questions perfectly. The website is informative and very easy to use as is the ordering page. I had taken advantage of many of the BOGO's listed on the website as well as several other daylilies I liked there. I ordered double fans and was expecting double fans. My order exceeded my expectations in every way. I think maybe 2 plants were actually double fans, and huge ones at that. Everything else was either triple fans to clumps! Very generous with gift plants as well. Extra fans, extra plants, and 6 of his intros. I cannot praise Maryott's Gardens enough. They will always have my business and I am already working on my order for next year! I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for big, beautiful, healthy daylilies. My order looked like it was just dug this morning!

Absolutely wonderful company! I've ordered from them a few times, and just placed another order for this year. They send nice large healthy plants and are very generous with bonus plants. Shipping costs are the standard fees charged by other daylily farms, if not a little lower considering the amount of bonus plants and fans included.

Posted on August 27, 2014, updated August 27, 2014 Shipping is very high. One has to add $2 per plant as well as a substantial base shipping charge. Fans are average in size, with very few being more than a double fan. While bonuses are sent, many of the bonuses are Maryott cultivars that frequently are not suitable for other climates.

I purchased the collection of 30 varieties, along with another dozen Maryotts, received late June 2007, potted immediately, transplanted 60% to the new bed I finally readied in the fall. 40% wintered over in 5 gal pots in the non-heated garage, survived, and this past 2008 Memorial Day weekend, I finally finished planting all of my 2007 Maryotts. Those planted in fall 2007 are beginning to bud. Those that overwintered in pots, most became rootbound, appear as happy as the planted. I'm in zone 5 and now consider this a successful experiment, intend to buy another collection of Maryotts, and am anxious for this year's blooms. Oh, the shipped fan size is large, often more than just 2 fans.

I took advantage of their BOGO and received very nice sized plants with almost all having three + fans. The roots were beautiful and looked like they were just dug. I couldnt believe I got SIX bonus daylilies all in the same nice condition. I ordered from another company too this year and the plants were night and day difference. I will be placing another order shortly to replace the daylilies I ordered from the other company. I would strongly suggest if you are looking for daylilies and you want healthy nice plants to order from here. This is my first time ever leaving feedback but after my experience with the other daylily company I didnt want anyone to go through what I went through with the other company. I cannot wait to get my next order of daylilies! Oh, it has only been a week since I planted and the plants already shot up four buds. They also shipped really quick and I had a question about shipping and they got back to me right away. Very very happy with them. Strongly recommend :-)

This was my first time ordering from Maryott's Gardens. I was very pleased with their plants and loved all the bonuses. They have a beautiful selection of daylilies to choose from. This will not be my last order with them. Thank you so much for the beautiful plants. I am anxious to see them bloom in my gardens.

Posted on September 3, 2012, updated August 24, 2013 I think this is probably the best experience I've had ordering daylilies through the mail. The shipping is a little scary, and the plant that I've been drooling over for the last year isn't the cheapest one out there. The combination of the two (shipping and the cost of the plant) kept me from ordering right away, but then the weekly specials started, and I really thought I'd like the plant being offered... I read some reviews and knowing the weekly special would change soon, I placed my order. I received a confirmation email and the plants were shipped on the agreed upon date. When the box came it was like getting a Christmas present. :) I ordered one plant and expected to get the weekly special, and a bonus plant. What I got was 5 plants and 16 fans!! Every one of the plants sent were 3 fans, and the one I ordered was 4. The plants were planted 6 days ago and have new growth (anywhere from about an inch to a little over 3 inches). - The gift plants were off my suggested list of bonus plants, so they were ones that I was already considering buying. I can't recommend this company enough, only just remember if you order, you might get more than you bargained for. ;)

Received my first order last week. WOW! Great Prices and even better looking plants. I took advantage of their BOGO sale and was happy enough with the prices. Then I opened my box Friday and was over the moon with joy. I ordered 5 cultivars and 4 of them were on the BOGO sale. Mr. Maryott sent me 4 very nice bonus plants. I received 13 plants total and all were nice healthy clumps. I would give them a positive plus if I could. I have already placed another order and can't wait to get it. Best customer service out there and very nice healthy plants. Top rate company!

I just received my first order from Maryott's and I could not be more impressed!! Although I have read many stellar reviews for Maryott's Gardens, I was still not prepared for the overwhelming generosity that they show to their customers. I ordered 9 cultivars (12 plants as 3 were bogos) and received 21 daylilies total. The "smallest" daylily is a large triple fan and the largest daylily is an actual 10-12 fan clump!! As if this is not already generous enough, Mr. Maryott also added 9 additional gift/bonus plants to my order - most of which are 2011 and 2012 introductions - absolutely stunning cultivars. Maryott's Gardens is truly incredible and I will definitely order from them again in the future.

I had my first contact with Bill Maryott some years ago when he answered some questions for me about the prices of new daylilies, vs the price of irises, (which he used to hybridize). He spent a lot of time formulating the answer. So, I had received some daylilies in a trade that were the old washed out lilacs and wanted to replace them. I looked to Maryotts. I had a good size area to fill and went for the BOGO (buy one get one free) ones. I got Russian Temple, Set my Soul Afire, and Fashion Police. I got two of all those and an extra Fashion Police. AND bonuses of Bogota (100.00!)and 3 Exotic Design (42.00! each)!!!!!! I had sent Mr. Maryott an email saying as I had purchased BOGOs I did not expect extras, but if he was to include an extra I was doing an orangish area. He sent back an email saying he thought he could find something that would fit the bill. Did he ever. Above and beyond, Mr. Maryott, above and beyond! And of course, all the divisions were huge and healthy. Please, please, purchase from Maryotts, you will not be disappointed.

I took advantage of a few BOGO offers, and ordered some other daylilies to fit groupings I was working on. The plants were huge, clean, healthy and wonderfully packed. The Maryott's are remarkably generous and offer great service.

Plants were large with average sized fans for June, Roots were hacked on all 3 orders on the one side of the plants, thus they did not do as well as plants received elsewhere that were not cut off in this fashion. email replies were fast and friendly. Shipping average

Positive is no where near high enough for this company, sent huge fans and great bonus plants. I ordered twice from them this year and am looking forward to ordering again in 2012 to get the ones that they sold out of this year. I have ordered from different companies in the past but these are by far the best daylilies I have ever received. Super great company. A+++++

I just received my first order from Maryott's Gardens yesterday. When I opened the box, I was beyond thrilled by the big, healthy, generously-sized plants. The promotional plant was wonderful. And, yes, somebody at Maryott's does seem to know which bonus I really wanted and sent that one as a free gift. Using the web site is easy. E mails were answered in a timely and friendly way. The transaction the flawless. I could not have asked for more. Maryott's knows what customers want and delivers even more! Thanks for an exceptional job.

I received my first order from Maryott's this week. After reading the comments here and at GW I placed an order. I was still surprised by the size and the amount of gifts that I received. I would purchase from them again.

Posted on September 18, 2010, updated September 17, 2011 Just placed my 5th order this season with Maryott's because of excellent customer service, huge fans, more than generous bonuses and best prices. Marilyn and Bill are the best of the best and very personable.

The plants are big, big, big and in excellent health. The fans are huge up to 4 inches at the crown (single fan). The roots are plump and firm. No sign of any pests or diseases. The bonus plants are much more than generous! And they are as big as the purchased plants! All the order is here, packaged well (the box was crumpled, but not the plants!). These folks will be getting most of my business in the future! When it comes to daylilies, these folks grow #1, grade A, super duper, gee golly great plants!!! Can you tell they excited me?!

I just received my first order from Maryott's Gardens and I am so pleased with the plants I received. Though they sent a statement saying the plants were smaller then they like to send, I found these to be very generous sized plants with nice roots! I haven't been this pleased with a vendor in along time! I will have to make room for more daylilies so I can order from them again!!

I was very happy with the order I got from Maryott's last June! The daylilies were fresh and healthy. They were all more than 2 fans (ranging from 3 to 6 fans.) The Maryotts gave me an extra bonus plant because they said that some of the plants may have been smaller than usual due to weather problems (although I thought the size was fine) and the bonuses ended up being worth almost as much as the daylilies I bought. The Maryotts also said that the shipping charges ended up being less than they had estimated, so they credited back the difference to my credit card. The only negative was that Maryott's doesn't start shipping until June 15, but the plants all settled in and grew well and half of them even bloomed last summer! The daylilies were a great value and I would definitely order again. I am so glad that I took heed to what everyone has had to say about Maryott's and ordered from them this year! Wow! They certainly did not exaggerate! You get as much in bonuses as what you paid for and they are all so big and healthy! I will be a regular Maryott customer from now on!

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. These daylily fans are HUGE! The bonuses were very much appreciated, and amazing ones at that! I WILL be ordering from them again.

Posted on September 23, 2010, updated September 23, 2010 I LOVE, love, love Maryott's! I was a first-time customer this past August when I placed my order and was 'wowed' bigtime. Everything folks were raving about on here is true. They send huge,healthy fans and some even pushed out scapes that are just starting to bloom.....in late September! A couple even had little proliferations on them so I got a couple extra baby plants. The bonuses are extremely plentiful and generous. (When I totalled up the cost of the free bonuses Bill sent, they exceeded what I had spent. And he sent ones that I had really, really wanted but were too pricey for my budget!) I was so thrilled, I emailed him to find out if it would be too late to plant in my zone, because I wanted to order more lilies. He always responds quickly and cordially. Once he told me I could squeeze in another order before it was too late for planting, I did just that. My second order was just as wonderful and were planted last week. I can't wait til next season when all my Maryott lilies are in bloom, and most especially when I can place ANOTHER order! Waiting for that package is like waiting for Christmas. You just feel that excitement as you open up your box of lilies, looking at how healthy & big they are, and exclaiming with glee at the wonderful bonuses you were gifted with. I wholeheartedly recommend this company!

I ordered several plants this year and received such beautiful and huge ones and the BOGO sale was astounding as more fans than they said. The bonus plants and weekly gift special blew me out of the water and ended up sharing some plants for postage with a cple friends. I could not have been happier with their plants or service. I will be buying from them again,

We have placed two orders this summer from their BOGO Sale. Each time we have received large fans, many time clumps, with great roots. They are very generous sending multiple gift plants, often times sending new and/or recent Maryott introductions. Bill and Marilyn are two very nice people and offer great customer service. This summer was our first time to order but will most definitely not be our last time.

It was the BOGO sale and they STILL gave me two bonus plants: Kwanza Gold DF and Latin Rhythm DF. I even got a third "bonus": One of the Cinco de Mayo has a prolif and the Kwanza Gold also has one! Both seem to have survived the trip. They are definitely on my "To Buy" list

First time buyer. Amazed by the size of the fans. Ordered from the BOGO sale and got 3 free bonus plants - one of which is a three fan clump! Can't wait to see them bloom. Will definitely order from again.

I have purchased from them for 3 years and have never been dissappointed with any daylily from them. Bill and I email one another back and fourth with him kindly sharing some of his wisdom with me, they are wonderful people to do business with. On a scale of 1-10 they are a 20+, I have been told by Bill, he does not send anything he would not like to receive himself and I know this to be true! If you haven't purchased from them, go ahead, what are you waiting for, you will not be sorry.

If i could only order daylilys from one place it would be Maryotts. Not only are their plants HUGE, impeccably clean, packed to perfection....i can't say enough about this company. No one else compares and i've purchased daylilys from at least 15-20 suppliers. Their customer service is tops! And then to top it off, they are VERY GENEROUS. They send at least double fans and awesome bonus' as well. It's like getting a Chirstmas gift when their box arrives. Thank you Maryott's for such excellent service to us daylily lovers.

This is one fabulous daylily nursery! Bill Maryott is wonderful to deal with, and his bonus plants were eye-poppers! Since I live in Bakersfield and received the plants in July I potted them up for fall planting, and several of them bloomed in the pots later in the summer and through the fall! I guess it has all be said by others here in their feedback responses, but I would like to mention his wonderful website with fantastic pictures, ease of ordering, his email communications with me, and last but not least the gorgeous double and triple fans I received -- plus so many, many bonus plants. WOW! I highly recommend Maryott's Gardens.

Folks, you cannot go wrong by ordering from Maryott's! I purchased 5 daylilies, expecting to receive double fans and the special advertised bonus of Kazoo and BOGO of Lord of Riches. I did not receive double fans, but triple or better! Plus, they were wonderfully healthy! Coming from CA to KY, I wondered if they would be stressed from the trip, but they could have gone into the ground that day! Adding to my delight, were EXTRA bonuses likely totaling more than my order! I was and still am amazed! You can feel confident in ordering from Maryott's.

I was blown away by the quality and quantity of daylilies received from Maryott's! Plenty of extras fans, extra bonus plants, and the specials of the week! Beautifully packaged, like a gift box! They are definately at the top of my list to order from again.

I have heard several people praise the quality of plants from Maryott's for the last 2 years. I finally gave them a try when they offered a weekly special -Eyes Right Jones as a bonus plant on any order over $75. Now I too am singing their praise to anyone that will listen. I ordered 16 Fans and ended up with 46 fans and 2 prolifs!! All fans are large and healthy with great roots. Not only did they send the advertised bonus plant but 2 others - one being a new intro of theirs worth my total order. I am so please with both the plants and the communication that I just placed another order today.

I got my second order from Maryott's this weekend. I had ordered 14 fans of 4 cultivars (2 fans were a promotion bonus plant) and i received a total of 23 fans - Amazing seller, great service, terrific shipping - THE BEST!!!

I received my first order the other day (I ordered through the BOGO sale that it going on now) and was very impressed by the size and the quality of the plants. They sent two fans of each plants and a gorgeous bonus that seemed like it was intentionally selected to go well with the plants that I had purchased. Some other places might be a little bit cheaper but you definitely get what you paid for and more with Maryott's. Communication was excellent as well. Very, very pleased and will definitely buy from them again in the future - as soon as I have more room!

My order came today and the plants were beautiful! I had ordered on a special, and not only did they send my order and the special plant that I had wanted, but there were two more bonus plants! And these are not common or cheap plants, they are very nice and part of the higher end of the plants in their catalog. Not only were the plants top grade, but the service was too. The emails were prompt and very friendly. They let you know when your plants were shipped and the packing was wonderful. Maryrott's stands out from every other company that I have used. Hi Everyone. I received my first order from Maryott's today. The daylilies were the largest fans and so healthy. I could not ask for better. The bonuses were newer varieties and just as healthy. I really didn't expect so many bonuses either, and most were from my wish list for possible bonus plants. I will be returning to Maryott's next year. For the quality, quantity, bonuses and prices--you can't go wrong with this company and you can depend on them to answer your questions and reply to your emails/phone calls quickly. They are very courteous and helpful--I have extremely enjoyed my conversations with Marilyn Maryott. They get an AAA+++ all the way in every way from me.

I placed an order from one of the great deals they had advertised in the classifieds. They were great about emailing if something was sold out and letting me choose a replacement. I had forgotten when I had requested delivery and my email was quickly answered. The box arrived and I thought it was a mistake when I saw the size of the box. I wasn't expecting the generous size of the "sale" plants they had sent. I will definitely be a returning customer, sale or not. Very happy with my experience with Maryott's.

Wow is truly the only word I can come up with to descibe the size of the fans I received. They are the healthiest I have ever received . All of my question were answered promptly via e-mail. I could not ask for better customer service. I will be ordering from Maryott's again.

WOW. I got my first order from Maryott's today. WOW. Now, I buy a lot through mail order-- and since I like to garden, naturally a large percentage of those purchases are gardening supplies and plants. The daylilies I received today were far and away the nicest perennials I have ever received via mail order. I'll go one better: I can't imagine it's possible to receive anything better via mail order. The plants are huge. I mean, fans the size of my hand (I'm 6'3) huge. And the tops are green. It's obvious that they were growing in the field until they were shipped to me. The customer service was the same calibre as the plants. The nice personal email confirmation was a welcome touch. And the gifts... OK, I know a free fan or two is becoming standard in the industry. And it's a nice practice. But the gifts I received were nearly as many in quantity and higher in total retail price than the plants I paid for. It's so refreshing to find such an well-run company, determined to provide a top-quality product and excellent service. Bill Maryott and company have done so with aplomb.

Recently i received numerous plants from Maryott's and i absolutely could not be more pleased...communication throughout the process was wonderful and i feel as if i made a friend with shared interests...the plants were wonderful w/almost all greater than stated double fans, very clean and ready to grow...i even had prolifs on several plants! I've bought daylilies through a variety of vendors this year and i have to say Maryott's is tops! I can't wait to place more orders with them in the future. thanks, Lynda

I purchased daylilies through one of their sales in the DG classified ads and had a wonderful experience. Communication was excellent and when the daylilies arrived they were definitely much larger than the double fans advertised. I am so impressed that I will definitely purchase again, sale or no sale.

I was somewhat hesitant when I placed my order but was totally surprised when I received my daylilies. The plants were healthy and much larger than I expected. The bonus was also quite large and the communication with Marilyn was great. I anticipate a good bloom season next year, no waiting a couple of years for the plants to mature as these are already quite large. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
