Astonishing daffodils, well worth the cost.

I don't know of any other company that 'does daffodils' as well as Mitsch. I have ordered from them, infrequently, since the 1990's. No one else does a catalogue like theirs with beautiful 'studio shots' of many of their offerings. No one else, of the highly specialized breeders, offers many bulbs within most everyone's price range. Over the years, I have collected some really unusual daffodils/narcissus from them, available from nowhere else. If you want something(s) truly unique, you'll find it here. I hope they will be in business for many, many years!

This is a very special place for very special daffodils..This is our third year of visiting Hubbard and the experience of walking through the rows of daffodils and visiting with Elise Havens and her husband Richard, the hybridizers who carry on the tradition of Grant Mitsch. We have purchased many of their bulbs and they have given us such pleasure each year...We look forward to our visit and talking with the Havens..Elise is a special source of information on all aspects of daffodils...and such a friendly lady...We just hope they continue to delight all daffodil lovers with the products of their labors...We surely appreciate it...Thanks so much..

I love these people. Not a bad word or thought comes to mind ever! I compete with my daffodils and the bulk of my blue ribbon winners are from Mitsch. I've met Elise Havens on several occasions and she must wonder who this crazy lady is thanking her for her wonderful bulbs. The new introductions are a bit pricey for me but there are always plenty of choices in the less expensive range and the quality of all their stock has always been fabulous. Have I ever had a problem?? I don't think so. No mislabeled bulbs, no lost orders or crushed boxes. Always shipped on time and in great shape. The worst thing that has ever happened was last year when my "freebies" were the same bulbs I had purchased some years back. So now I have two clumps of Goldfinger instead of one. I can't say enough good things about Mitsch. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!

A treasure trove of beautiful daffodils. The catalog will be sent free to American Daffodil Society members, but it's worth the minimal price even if you don't order. Color photos of many varieties and explicit descriptions of the rest. 2008 catalog notes that this may be the last full catalog and subsequent years may only involve a published listing. If you freak out seeing $60+ price for one daffodil bulb, be forewarned, but not all of the lovely cultivars are that pricey. A daffodil collector's dream. I've ordered from them many times. Include a substitution list as many cultivars are limited in supply. I've always gotten 1-2 gratis bulbs with an my orders.

Beautiful little catalogue and the order came promptly as promised. The bulbs were healthy, large, plump and just what I wanted! I would definitely do business with Grant Mitsch daffodils again. Highly recommended!

I would definately order from this company again. The bulbs received were very healthy and most were doubles. They were shipped right on time for my zone, and the contact both before I placed the order and after was excellent.

Wonderful, absolutely excellent quality, specialty Daffodil bulbs. I have dealt with this company for years and they sell only top quality bulbs. I have never been disappointed. Expensive, but definitely worth it. One must order from a printed catalog however. No web orders. If one is a Daffodil fancier; these folks have just "the ticket".

I have been ordering daffodils from Grant Mitsch for years, and they have excellent quality daffodils. Their selection is the best for unusual daffodils. They have colors (especially in the pinks and reds) that no one else has. If you are in Oregon in the springtime (mid-March to early April), a trip to their place to see their daffodils is worth the time.As a bonus, they are extremely nice people to deal with. They personally answer the phone and give good information. They once replaced somedaffodils for me that died because of a mistake I made - it was not because of any fault of the daffodils they sent. The daffodils aren't inexpensive, but they are delightful. I do order some more common daffodils from other companies, but I save the Grant Mitsch daffodils for close to our house where I can see them the best.

This is absolutely THE best source for exquisite daffodils. Grant Mistch has hybridized these beauties specifically for garden performance, substance, form ,fragrance and beauty. Grant passed away a few years ago and daughter and son-in-law have been carrying on the business.I read an article years ago which basically gave me the impression that these daffodils were different from all others. They are. I have been hooked ever since. I have ordered from this company for at least 10 years. I MAKE room each fall if I need it, just for them. I have called and spoken with them on several occasions (mostly after a walk through my spring garden to thank them for these flowers). Very personal service, hand written notes are not uncommon. The bulbs are cleaned and handpacked with generous au gratis bulbs! The prices are higher than the usual lot, but well worth it. The catalog is very well written, with honest comments about garden performance, vigor, etc. These daffodils simply outperform everything out there. I kept careful records and compared their performance to the usual lot. Grant's daffodils can last up to 21 days in great condition! I live in Maryland (zone 6b) and we can have nasty spring weather, everything from 10 degrees with 40 mph winds, to snow, ice, sleet, and 80 degree temps. No weak stems, poor substance, etc. I have never had a spring that I wasn't AGAIN in awe of these beauties when they bloomed. Also, colors and fragrances like you wouldn't believe. I have grown hundreds of daffodils over the years. I've pulled out everything but Grant's! If I could grow only ONE spring flower it would be Grant Mitsch's daffodils. This is a winner and a tribute to a great man and his love and devotion to these spring beauties!

The best US source of daffodil bulbs. A family farm/nursery. Wide selection of modern daffodils of all colors and forms. Bulk orders possible for landscaping using "seedling" stocks.
