I just purchased 5 Leptodermis Oblonga plants from Goldfinch Gardens, and it was a very positive experience. Mr.Bossley went the extra mile with his excellent service and communications, and went as far to arrange a special delivery/pickup for me. It's easy to see why he has a spotless 813 positive feedback rating on ebay. I definitely plan to buy from Goldfinch in the future, and would recommend this company to others.

WARNING! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS BUSINESS! I placed an order this past Saturday through their website and used paypal and have not got any confirmation of order or been able to e-mail them. The e-mail they have listed is returned undeliverable. I have even tried through Garden Watchdog and filed a dispute through paypal to get my money refunded.

On October 5th, 2005, acwtim added the following: I still have received no response from this nursery through Gardenwatch,Paypal, or regular e-mails. Paypal does not guarantee 100% reimbursement, so beware when using paypal to order plants.
On October 13th, 2005, acwtim changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: I finally received my plants and they were very good size and quality with great shipping. Best prices I have found. The only reason I can't give a positive is the lack of customer service. No e-mail responses or phone calls until I refused the charges and was contacted by Mr Bosley on the phone.
Company representative comment on October 31, 2005:
The customer says he ordered on the 1st of October - It came to
me as a Paypal order (as do all my orders off my webpage). We
have the vast majority of our sales as auctions which end on
Sunday- since it did not clear until the 5th of October, we did
not view the order until the Tuesday after the 5th (since Monday
was Columbus Day and we could not ship priority mail)
Wednesday the 12th - the package went out Priority Mail.
Mind you now, I have my own personal cell phone listed on my website
as well as my e-mail address. I know sometimes people do not
correctly spell the e-mail address - I never received an e-mail
or phone call from this customer.
The day after it was shipped - he did a dispute on his Paypal money
and this was the first I knew there was a problem - and on the
same day he contacts, not me, but this site to complain.
He got his plants and was happy with them as you can see here,
but despite my many calls and e-mails, he would not answer me.
He got his plants free of charge.
Anybody ordering from me - please know in advance - I do things
the old fashioned way: You trust me and I will trust you. If there
is a problem - contact me fisrt, not this site to complain.
If he would have only done this - there would have been NO PROBLEMS
(and who needs problems ?)

I purchased 2 roses via the website that were sent by mail....a nearly wild and a morden blush. Both arrived healthy and they were a nice size. Fast delivery and well packaged. Asked a question via e-mail and got fast helpful response. Nice website. I am pleased with my plants and would happily buy from this seller again.

In February I ordered some varieties of Brunnera, Heuchera, unusual Forsythia, and Songbird Aquiligia specifying they be sent after April 20. April 23 the owner e-mailed me to ask if I wanted them sent since he was expecting 12 inches of snow in Ohio and was concerned about my planting in such terrible weather in PA. We agreed to wait a few days. The plants arrived in good shape wrapped in paper towels with plastic around them. The site states that the plants are all quart or gallon size and certainly he saves a lot of weight charges this way. One must get the plants in the ground right away when they arrive. I noticed one error which the owned has agreed to replace. He very thoughtfully even included an extra plant he said I might enjoy trying! I was really impressed with his concern, knowledge, and clear love of what he is doing. The prices are very reasonable. I am still waiting for the replacement and will post when it arrives. Great company! I will order again.

On May 4th, 2005, gardadore added the following: May 4, 2005 As promised the correct plant arrived with an additional gift plant. Fabulous customer service!

I visited this nursery several times and found the selection to be OUTSTANDING. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable about perennials and botany in general. It is definitely a nursery and not a garden center and that is why they can keep the prices so low - I found mayn plants (gallon size and quart size) much cheaper than the discount stores - and they will actually replace items that don't make it one full season. For price and variety - this is it !

Just visited this nursery. I enjoy seeing how the plants are taken care of before I get them. This is a small nursery where the plants have taken over. Not too fancy, but there were a few unusual plants. I personally like this type of shopping. Browse at your own risk, you never know what you might find. The owner was present and helpful. Not too helpful. There was also an Amish girl there who appeared to be an employee. There were a few half round houses packed to the brim with all kinds of plants. I should mention that I was probably there a little early for this area. You should know your stuff if you want to shop quietly, otherwise I'm sure the owner could help you with any questions. If you like pristine garden center type nursery shopping, this is not for you. If you want interesting plant opportunities, and some info, you might want to give this place a try. I'm going to recommend to my garden club, and go back later in season. I purchased a variegated Brunnera, and a Knautia that is supposed to be pastel. I'll update if it is. The Brunnera was well grown, and had adequate roots, not root bound. The Knautia was freshly dug as I waited from a bed. These were 2 year old looking plants. I paid less than ten for both gallon size plants, no shipping. I was disappointed they didn't have a few of the plants I wanted, that they had on their site. Namely an Astrantia, and a blue poppy. Maybe later. They have a rather nice web page. Also when I asked for directions on line, I got an immidiate response.

I ordered some thornless blackberries from these fellows; oddly enough they are not on his site (perhaps he is now out for the year.) Hopefully he'll have them again as they are very vigorous and alive looking; and were a good price. I got them along with a CD catalogue of his; a first for me there! Hopefully my sister won't throw it out as she has all the paper ones.
