Row 7 Seed Company

Row 7 was recommended by a Facebook gardening group as having beet seeds that didn’t taste like dirt. I was intrigued & ordered some along with some squash towards the end of 2019. The seeds arrived in a timely fashion, but I was in no rush. I started the beets indoors & they germinated well, but grew very slowly for quite a while & seemed to take forever to bulk up once I transplanted them (but I’m unfamiliar with beets so have no reference). They are a pretty golden color with cylindrical roots. I tried them raw in salads, boiled & roasted, while I could still taste a very slight dirt taste they were absolutely fantastic a definite game changer for my fellow beet haters. As I’m getting ready to start my fall crop it reminded me I needed to write a review. The center cut squash I also bought due to the many years of struggling with the dreaded squash vine borer on my zucchini. So far it is borer free, and I have harvested so many squashes from my 2 hills (4 plants) that I’m having to get creative in giving/using them all up. Definitely needs its space & works better on a trellis. While the company itself doesn’t have very many seeds to offer, the ones I did purchase have been amazing & I will definitely be back to check out their newest releases.

Posted on November 18, 2019, updated August 3, 2020 I have had a very positive experience ordering and growing their seeds. I am extremely pleased with the Koginut squash. It is a delicious winter squash, and I had over 12 squash per plant. The experimental cucumber was good, but I planted it in a less than ideal area. The beets were very good and colerful. There are only a handful of seeds on the site, but it was fun to try new varieties. Will definitely order again.
