I've visited this nursery many times and received mail orders, also. It is what it is "Goodness Grows". Many beautiful plants, a clean nursery, and the staff is helpful and friendly. It is like a garden paradise. I love the photos on their websight and on facebook. Thanks to Rick and Mike!

I always remember going there when I was a child when my dad used to work there. I recall their garden being such a magical and enchanting place to visit. When I visit now, I still get that child-like feeling when I'm sorting through the great variety of plants and flowers! Rick and Marc are very great and knowledgeable people who know their stuff...Marc will be greatly missed.

The plants I got from them were GREAT! Better than some you find for sale on a bench. Everything I have ever gotten from them has just done wonderfully, except the one bush my dog slept on....

Goodness grows has always been great to me...Their plants have always thrived and the service is always excellent...The negative poster above should have probably checked their website/catalog for their hours, as they do close on Sundays in the fall and winter...

My track record with plants was bleak until, happily, I discovered Goodness Grows in Lexington, GA. Their healthy, hearty plants consistently live up to (and usually exceed) all expectations, while helpful tips from the staff enable shoppers to get the most benefit from their purchases. It's one of my favorite places to find the perfect gift for any occasion.

Goodness Grows is the top perennial plant nursery in the southeast. Marc & Rick are very knowledgeable about the plants they grow and are two of the hardest working individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. The company name they chose depicts what they are trying to share with everyone. And, yes, on occassion they take a day off usually on Sundays after the seasonal rushes when they have been working 70-80 hrs. a week. I would say, give the guys a break, if you want to visit the nursery on a Sunday, call ahead.

I wanted to reply to a member who had some questions about their hours. The hours change a bit during the seasons. The best way to make sure their open is to give them a call.

GG is one of the best nurseries I have ever visited. Knowledgeable staff. Wide range of plant selections. The layout is wonderful--gives me many ideas. It is worth the 3 hour drive (one way). I try to visit there at least twice a year and have never been disappointed.

A trip to Goodness Grows is always a treat for me. It is just like visiting a beautiful garden, only plants and flowers are for sale. If one is looking for an old fashioned plant out of the ordinary, chances are, Goodness Grows will have it. Even if I don't buy anything (which is hard to do), I always feel the trip was well worth going the distance. The employees all go out of their way to help you find your selection and to offer suggestions. I do advise calling before going to be sure they are open, as I have found that almost all nursery's hours can vary with seasons.

My wife and I have been to Goodness Grows in Lexington, Ga on three previous occasions. We always had a great experience and really enjoyed each trip. We also purchased several plants which seemed to always thrive when planted. We also got several great ideas for our yard that we have used and love. All of these trips were on Sunday afternoon, but today we made the 50 mile (one-way) trip and were very disappointed. The nursery was closed. They had a cable across the road but no sign explaining why. It was about 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. Are they no longer open on Sundays? Was it just a vacation? Did they close early? Why were they not open? We just drove 100 miles and wasted our Sunday afternoon and we probably won't be back unless we just happen to be in the area. Thanks, Dondi Brown

When I lived in Athens they were my number one supplier. It was always a delight to visit their nursery, which has display gardens that are lovely at any time of year. The gift shop is excellent for birthday and Christmas presents for the garden and home. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and full of suggestions. Go in the spring and be inspired!
