Conifer Kingdom

This was my first order from Conifer Kingdom and I was satisfied with the 5 plants I received. They were shipped when promised and REALLY packaged well for shipment and arrived in four days. The plants are of fair size for the price and in good condition. I also received a "free" small conifer. I would order from them again if they have a plant I could not find locally. A couple did not have labels but it was obvious what they were. We'll see how my new acquisitions do.

I’ve been ordering from conifer kingdom for a number of years. Their quality is good. The past two years they’ve changed their shipping and it’s a problem. They used to ship in spring based on where you live. Now, the ship based on their location in the PNW. That’s a huge problem for those of us in colder climates. They’ve shipped hundreds of dollars worth of plants to me while I’ve got 6 inches of snow and ice in the ground with no sign of spring for a while. That is not spring for me. This means babysitting plants for weeks before I can plant them. If you are in a colder climate, DO NOT accept their description of shipping for spring. It is based on their convenience, not yours. Insist on a different shipping date in extra notes or you’ll be getting your plants way too early. I’ll remember to either note future orders or wait to order but it’s a big disappointment from an otherwise reputable company. Definitely give them a chance for their great plants but do not allow them to dictate shipping times.

Healthy plants and incredibly well packaged. I purchased 10 Hick’s yews from Conifer Kingdom. I requested shipping ASAP which happened. Despite the weather being in the 90’s F with humidity also being in the 90s AND the in-transit time being lengthened because of the I70 closure in Colorado these guys made it to their new home in Indiana from Oregon in top form. They had been in transit at least 8 days and I expected to see some dried out evergreens. They were so well packaged, no loose dirt in the box, all plants secure, and the soil was still damp. The new growth was yellow from the lack of sunlight but that greened up after a few days of sunlight.

I always like to wait to post reviews to see how the tree over-winters. I ordered an Alaskan Cedar last spring. It was packaged extremely well and is still doing great. We'll be ordering a few more plants from them this year.

First time customer with Confer Kingdom and couldn't be more pleased. I ordered a hard-to-locate Ginkgo which arrived healthy and leafed--so I can still enjoy its wonderful yellow leaves for a few more weeks--and Conifer Kingdom threw in a healthy Whipcord for free. Great products, great customer service. I will be ordering again in the future. Thanks!

In spite of: A: Covid B: Every nursery, at least in this part of the world (N.E.), being wiped out of most plants due to Covid gardening. C: This nursery being very close to some of the terrible wildfires in the Pacific northwest. D: These folks suffering smoke from said fires. E: They're having heat waves as well. F: Having a tree shipped about as far across country as you can get from their Washington state location... We received a lovely, burly, healthy looking Acer 'Spring delight' this past week, well packed for shipment, not a leaf out of place. Very impressed, especially given all the above!

I've been wanting to order from Conifer Kingdom for many years but they are just so far away that I never took the leap of faith. However I needed a P. pungens 'The Blues' for a very specific spot and could not source one locally so I made the leap. It arrived so happy and healthy looking- still damp after five days on the road and this in mid-August when any cautious gardener would have postponed the order until fall. I am so happy I found my tree, so happy I ordered from Conifer Kingdom and will most definitely be ordering more from them in the future. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a very happy customer.

Everything from plants available ,communication with customers to web site design is exceptional. The only regret I have is not finding them sooner.I have ordered from them consistently now for several years and not one time received a less than great plant.

I ordered a few trees last spring. Each was in good shape after shipping and each was as represented online. Each survived a summer of heat and drought. An obvious strength of this nursery in the diversity of conifers. Another is that some larger trees are available that are simply out of reach by any other means.

My order arrived yesterday & once again I was blown away by the absolutely beautiful and healthy plants the folks at CK have once again sent me!!! Exceptional service & always, always top quality conifers & Japanese maples. I have never been disappointed in the several years I've been ordering from them & I will always make room in my gardens for more of their awesome plants. Thanks so much CK folks ... I have transformed a rock garden into a dwarf/miniature conifer garden over the last year. I could find no local nurseries (we have visited both large and small) with an adequate selection, so I turned to the internet. Conifer Kingdom has provided a wide selection with the information on size and hardiness that I needed, prompt service, and excellent shipping. The trees have come in great shape and have done very well since planting. I will continue to use them.

I ordered a 'chief joseph' lodgepole pine, pinus contorta, from them back in april, and it arrived right at the start of may. It arrived in decent shape with only a few brown needles, but after about a week it was wilting and starting to yellow. At about a week and a half to two weeks, i uprooted and thinned out the root ball to see if that would help it. But after about a month it was completely defoliated. I had it in a mix of bark/compost, perlite, and bonsai clay, which has been a good for my other pines amd conifers, bit i believe i may have waited too long to clear the rootball, or it may have contracted pinewilt, though i thought that would take longer to kill it, never had a plant die so fast. I called the company and emailed them pictures of when it first arrived and after 3 weeks. I dont remember who i spoke with,but he was courteous and agreed it may have been water logged and refunded me half the price. The free juniper i got from them is doing great however. I give them a neutral rating as of now because of their good customer service and great selection, but i can not be sure if it was my fault the tree died or they sent a bad plant, i will definately try to order from them again come fall and see where that goes.

Posted on April 14, 2014, updated March 31, 2015 Conifer Kingdom: Wow! I am rather inexperienced with conifers, having gotten interested in them over the past couple of years. I actually found this company when researching conifer gardens on-line - Conifer Kingdom was highly recommended. The website is fantastic - full of information and the selection is ginormous. I emailed them back in January to inquire about the best time for ordering for spring and they got back with me right away. I ordered 6 trees (various conifers, a thuja,and a Japanese Maple) and they arrived as scheduled in late March. And they were huge - I ordered BP's and 1's because that's what my budget allows - the plants are in great shape and gorgeous. And they also sent me a free gift and it was the biggest of all, what a nice surprise. When I came home and saw the package on the porch, I thought, "how can all those trees be in there", and when I opened the package the trees were packed with such care and there was indeed room for them and the packing peanuts. Clearly they know what they are doing :) Also, there are many sizes (some specimen available) and prices available - I very much appreciate having those options. I already ordered and received a second order (a Pinus strobus 'angel falls' and two japanese maples, 'orangeola' and red dragon.) I will continue to order as my budget (and yard space) allow. If you're going to mail order conifers this is the place. They have great promotions, solid pricing on most selections, high quality and top notch variety.

I have placed a few orders with this company in the past. I have always been happy with their selection and the plants have always been good sized, healthy and beautiful. However, this past weekend I had such a good experience with them, I felt they needed some public recognition for their amazing customer service. This past weekend I placed an order. Afterwards, I had a question about the order and sent a follow up email about 1:00 am Sunday. Because of the timing, I figured they would answer me Monday or Tuesday. Imagine my surprise when I checked my email the next morning and already had a response. They actually answered my question within 2 hours of receiving my email! and in that two hours they had already fixed the issue and had a solution. Seriously, if you love conifers, Japanese maples and great customer service, you need to order from Conifer Kingdom. I know I will order from them again.

They shipped a slightly bigger tree than was listed on their website. Arrived healthy and undamaged. Perfect.

This spring I ordered two trees from Conifer Kingdom (as a first time customer)—a Serbian Spruce and a Vine Maple. They had a great variety of specimens including a variety of sizes to choose from on their website. Both of the tress I ordered arrived exactly when I requested and they were both very healthy and carefully packaged. In fact, they even sent me a third tree as a “thank you”, which I thought was very nice of them. I would definitely recommend them and I will be sure to order from them again.

It is 40 inches tall and 27 inches wide, a beautiful, full little tree. I am an avid collector who purchases JMs regularly. I would strongly recommend this company.

Just received my first order and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the plants and the packaging. They all arrived safely along with a free gift. Thanks very much and you will definitely be hearing from me again soon!

I bought three trees from them recently, and they were magnificent. I'll definitely buy from them again. Highly recommended.

First off, I emailed the company asking about a couple of plants and if they would work in my area. I had a representative get back to me within a day or two, apologizing for the delay! I was given great information and ended up ordering 2 mini spruces (daisy white) and a dwarf gingko, along with 3 gold beret barberries, a hydrangea and an elderberry. My order was processed quickly and shipped very soon after. The plants made the trip from Oregon to Wyoming in about 3 days and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. These were some of the most well-packaged plants I've received. They were moist, but not too moist, wrapped well in plastic bags and cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. They strike me as a good, family owned business that actually cares about their products and their customers' satisfaction. Everything was exactly how I imagined and I'll certainly order from them again.

I ordered two Metaseqouia 'Waasland' from them (size #2). Their shipping charges are very reasonable and they arrived on the East coast in 5 days. The plants were in excellent condition, no sign of shipping stress, and had terrific root systems. Very pleased.

So far, I've only ordered one plant from Conifer Kingdom, but what a plant...a huge, healthy, heavily-branched, beautiful Japanese maple, reasonably priced, and so well-packed that it made the journey clear across the US with nary a broken branch. Their selection is totally awesome, too, stuff your neighbor isn't growing in his yard. I'm doing some major renovations to my landscaping in Spring 2013, and guess who's going to get my orders?

An excellent option for any gardener interested in the best conifers and Japanese maples. My order of about a dozen plants was shipped well, quickly and arrived in great shape. The plant offerings range from cheap to pricey but many of these plants I have not seen before available anywhere. The quality of the plants really stood out - a labor of love would be a good way to describe this owner(s). I'll order again soon.
