Great selection and healthy plants sent. I have made a few orders from this nursery and have never been disappointed with the quality of the stock. I have had no losses and can only say that this nursery should be on everyones list if interested in beautifying their landscape designs with the queen of the garden.......the iris

We placed an iris order with Chuck last year for the first time. When we received the order we were very pleased with both the size, and the condition of the fans and rhizomes. Once planted they started to grow almost at once. This spring (2008) most of the plants gave us a nice show of blooms. We placed an order this year again and can't wait to receive it.

This is my second year ordering from Chuck, all I can say is he stands by his word. Although I did not get all that I ordered, he sent many subs/extras and bonus gifts to make it up. Absoultely wonderful customer service, for sure I'll be ordering again from this company next year!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL shipment from Chuck! Big fat rhizomes that almost crawled out of the box and drag themselves to the garden ! A mere 8 days in the ground and you could see they were thrilled to have a new home! My very first order was a large one and although I was not able to get what I really wanted because of MY OWN tardiness at submitting my order, Chuck was very generous with his 'freebies' and worked very hard with me to find some 2nd choices ! Because I want everything on my wish list the next time, I have already compiled an order double the size of the last one, including all of his recent intro's. Since I have so much land, I think I'll just have to add a couple more before I send off my order and payment in January 2006!! LOL It is my hope to visit his gardens in June 2006!

I placed a large order this summer and being so HOT some of his plants did not have new growth , but Chuck replaced the few that did not make it to others that did (I also was given a choice to pick replacments ) most were much more expensive listed on the web site and he gave me a few free ones also . I was very pleased with the service . The Iris plants that I want that did not make it I will order next year . I must also say Chuck has a beautiful collection that makes it hard to pick just one .

I have always been very pleased with the irises I have ordered from Chuck. His introductions are great plants. I have had excellent success with rebloom on his SDBs in particular. All plants have been correctly identified and were received in excellent condition.

I have just rec'd the Iris from my first order with Chuck Chapman. I am extremely impressed with the quality and size of the rhizomes, as well as with the service I rec'd. I am relatively new to this Iris "obsession", so part of my order was a collection of TB's and a collection of SDB's that he had on offer. The Iris Chuck selected for me were beautifully varied in colour and I am looking forward to seeing them in my garden next year. I am so pleased that I am already looking through his catalogue again and making plans for next years order! I highly recommend this seller. Debby

Daniel, Very surprised that you should give a negative just because Chuck didn't have the TBs that you wanted. For one thing, the ones you didn't get are very common, can be purchased anywhere. Chuck specialises in his own hybrids and has won many prizes and medals for them. His iris are very popular. You have to order in January to be sure of getting all his iris that you want. I have ordered often from him, always too late so often don't get what I wanted. Tant pis. Another year. Chuck is a very generous person. Always lots of donations to iris society sales. A group of us from Manitoba visited him a couple of years ago. he stopped what he was doing, showed us all around his gardens and even let us name one of his new iris. My favourites of his are Ruby Eruption and Forever Blue (a rebloomer). first saw Forever Blue one late Oct. at a meeting at RBG. Couldn't believe there was still a blooming iris so late in the year. Don't know how to verify this, but Chuck knows my email, as do all Davesgarden people. Inanda

On August 30th, 2004, inanda added the following: Received my Chapman order last week. All just fab, very healthy looking, good fat rhz. Can't wait for next year bloom time. Good extras too. Daniel, Look at it this way. Maybe you didn't order fast enough. Somebody else ordered earlier and chose the same iris that you wanted. I'm looking at his catalogue and thinking I should order right now, for next year, to be sure of getting all I want - weather/snow willing - of course. So I don't think your negative rating was fair. Chuck isn't a huge iris supplier of others irises. He is a hybridizer. Choose his own iris, you will love them.

I was a bit disappointed because two of the irises I really wanted(Conjuration and Beverly Sills)were not available even if the catalogue said so. dlessard

I just received an order of bearded iris from Chuck and they were very large in comparison to another company. If he does not have what you want is stock(due to weather etc.), he takes the time to phone you personally and asks what he could do if your choice is not available. Will throw in extras and upgrade at No extra cost. Definetly my first choice for Iris. There is no risk of small dried up stock arriving.

If you are looking for the largest selection of all forms of iris then this is the place. Mr. Chapman is an iris breeder of note and likes the small ones so his selection is large of those. However he also has the latest , plus a good selection of the tall iris too. His plants are healthy and he is always very generous with his freebies.
