I was very impressed with the service and they really know their business when it comes to azaleas & rhodondendrons. The plants are very strong and healthy and the price is very reasonable. If you live in the mid-atlantic don't waste your time buying west coast or southern shrubs that you would find at lowes or home depot. I will return again next year!

I ordered several liner size rhododendrons, a gallon size rhododendron, and two other woody plants this spring. I am used to ordering small, young plants via mail, but even to me, the liner rhodos appeared very small - perhaps 4" tall, and not branched yet. They were all very healthy and vigorous looking, so this is not a complaint, just a heads up to calibrate your expectations. In contrast, the gallon sized rhodo was very impressive looking, with significant branching, a well developed root system, and two flower buds. You definitely get your money's worth for the larger sizes. Of the other plants, both were nicely sized, but one was significantly rootbound - still a good deal given the combined shipping with the rhodos, but I don't know that I would make a whole order of their 'non core' products as it were, the quality of those is much more average as opposed to exceptional. The packing was top-notch, with pots tightly wrapped in plastic to keep the soil from spilling, and strapped to the sides of the box to keep them from shifting. I liked the decision to pack the empty space around the leaves with hay, rather than paper or peanuts like I have seen other companies do. It did a good job, did not get soggy, and was easy to dispose of. There's no order form, you simply email your selections and around the ship date you get a phone call to give them payment information. Very personal service, and in all instances they were pleasant to interact with. On balance, I would definitely return to here for rhododendrons. The combination of selection, quality, and price is pretty much unmatchable.

I was very glad to find this nursery because I like to start with small plants. The price is cheaper and I can afford to buy more plants and I don't mind waiting for them to grow. It is satisfying. I bought 8 rooted liners and they sent me very nice plants with excellent root systems. And so quickly. I'll be a returning customer. And this fall I plan to send them some cuttings from my plants to root for me. One of my top nurseries.

I ordered 9 Ajuga Reptans (Black Scallop) and four gumdrop echinacea several weeks ago. I live in VT, and had wanted my order asap because the weather has been SO warm this spring, but they let me know that the Ajuga just wasn't ready yet as it wasn't grown to the condition that they wanted to send it. It was worth the small wait (and saved from a few bouts of light frost) because the plants are beautiful! they were packed carefully, but not OVER packed, which I loved. (I HATE PEANUTS!!! and overpacking) They looked like they had been freshly repotted as well. I have ordered from 5 companies this spring, and the condition of the plants and the packing job made me most likely to look to them first for future orders.

Hi personally visited the nursery. Currently they are growing 400 varieties of azaleas and rhodenderons plus some Japanese maples and a smaller variety of conifers. They offer liners, quarts, and 1,2,3, gallon sizes. The owners were extremely helpful. It is a very well run operation. Everyting is immpecably labeled by them personally throughout the growing cycle. so if you're as tired as I am of buying something only to find out when it blooms its not what it is labeled that doesn't happen here. They have plans to add another 400 varieties of azalea and rhodenderon Hybrids as well as native species) all grown and proven winter hardy here in Zone 5 western Pa. So if you are a tired as I am of going tthrogh the West Coast growers listings only to find very little stuff is winter hardy in the north no problem here. They will also do custom propagation work if you have a rare cultivar you would like to see preserved. If you're a azalea or rhodie enthusiast it is worth a personal visit during peak bloom.
