I have ordered from this company for many years and never been let down. This year 2017 they sent my order asap just in time to get planted.. I will continue to order from them for years to come. The best sweet corn I have ever raised in 50 years..

I have ordered online plants for years. I have never had a bad experience before my order with Sweet Corn Organic Nursery. I wish I had researched them before ordering, as I see on here and on Yelp they have bad reviews for their live plants and mixed reviews for their seeds. I ordered in two separate orders (because after the first order went through, I realized I needed more and I forgot broccoli)- Your Order Contains the Following Items: 2 x Dill (Bouquet) Heirloom Herb Seedling 2 x Genovese Basil Heirloom Herb Seedling 1 x Dark Green Flat Italian Parsley Heirloom Herb Seedling 1 x Blue Lake Pole Heirloom Bean Seedling 1 x Lavender Heirloom Herb Seedling & 1 x Dill (Bouquet) Heirloom Herb Seedling 1 x Green Sprouting Heirloom Broccoli Seedling 1 x Genovese Basil Heirloom Herb Seedling Therefore, by my count and their BOGO deal, I was supposed to receive 6 dill plants, 6 basil plants, 2 parsley plants, 2 beans, 2 lavender, and 2 broccoli. When the package came, weeks later, it was a very small box. Inside, the "seedlings" were shockingly small, to the point where it looked as though the seeds had been planted and sprouted during the shipping! I am not exaggerating when I say that these "seedlings" were less than 1/2" tall. They were packed in potting mix that disintegrated upon unpacking, leaving bare root tiny seedlings, and I didn't receive even half of my order. I received two tiny lavender sprigs, two tiny parsley sprigs (honest to God, I have received larger parsley on plates in restaurants), two basil sprigs, and two green bean leaves. These were each packed inside the same little pot, so the BOGO ad was disingenuous at best. I wish I could upload pics. For >$60, this was a huge shock and disappointment. Needless to say, I didn't receive ANY dill or broccoli at all. And I was woefully shorted on the basil. The "seedlings" were a joke. I expected to receive the same size of plants that I at least receive at the local store, which are healthy and at least 2 inches tall with more than one leaf. THAT is what I expect for a seedling. This company has no way of meaningful contact. Email is unresponsive and the phone is too. I have never felt so cheated out of my money. What a huge waste. I wouldn't even want replacements and my order completely fulfilled because the quality and size of these plants are so crappy that I just want a refund so I can try to get replacements elsewhere. If I wanted barely started seeds, I would have done it myself at home for less than $10. What a ripoff. Avoid at all costs.

I really like this company. The resource dept. is great , they answered all my questions. The sweet corn seeds all sprout. The packages explain exactly how many seeds I purchased, like when I ordered them! What makes them better than the rest is the excellent sweet corn they sell. In my 40 + years of gardening I have never ate better sweet corn. Being from the corn belt that's saying something.. I love the fact its Organic, open pollinated and tastes far better than anything else on the market. They get 2 thumbs up and a big slap on the back for all there hard work..

so upset-I will NEVER place another order online till I do a THOROUGH look at reviews. Wish I had seen this site before I ordered. I got a box today from Sweet Corn; it is less than 1/3 of what I ordered. Called them-voicemail boxes are full, I cannot leave a message. Great. Tried to email them not 1x, not 2x but 3x (at info@, bryan@ and kim@) All three emails came back as undeliverable. Calling my bank now and placing a dispute. I'm not even sure if these plants are what they are labeled, I'm no expert but I know what lavender looks like and this seedling does NOT look like lavender. ugh. DO NOT SHOP HERE unless you like headaches and have money to throw away.

Granted, the plants I ordered were described as seedlings. But for $5.98 I expected a plant with some decent roots and more than six or seven leaves. I felt I wasted $50

When I first checked out this company, the reviews were all positive with one neutral. Now that I see all the negative press, I feel obligated to share my ongoing experiences. I ordered their 6 plant minimum along with some of their fertilizers but it was about 1.5-2 weeks before my shipment was confirmed. Calls and emails went unanswered during this time until I was actually notified and was told they were switching offices. Once confirmed, I had my shipment on the day specified so no big deal. To say I was pleased would be an over statement though. The seedlings were small and looked weak. The most important instruction page was the very last page which I happened to miss so I didn't unpack my plants as needed. I lost two of the twelve seedlings almost immediately and planting was another shot in the dark. Maybe it is because I am new but the soil medium fell apart in my hands leaving the few roots there were exposed. I stayed positive though and stuck it out. All transplants in the garden have survived except one. Not really sure what happened to that guy but 9/12 surviving? I'll take those odds. My problem now is that my plants really are not growing but again, I am new and the weather here may be a culprit. Everything is green though and the MegaSea has definitely made a difference. I am trying the MegaFish tonight for the first time and possibly using the MegaPepe and MegaMater too. A few things that may help others...Bryan and I have emailed one another quite a bit. He has helped me frankly more than I would expect but that is what companies that what to keep customers do right? At the same time, things seem off at times. I am not sure what the name of the business is---on the website it is one thing, on the fertilizers it is missing 'corn'. Also, while Bryan is a constant...the website has his business partner as one name but on the paperwork sent to me it says another name. I find this odd but then again, maybe stuff is going on and the business is truly in flux hence the turmoil some have experienced. In the end, I will try them again if by summer's end I have lots of crops from their plants and fertilizer regimen. If not, then I may not. If I do, I will just remember to order sooner or put a call into them to see what is up before I order. To date, the jury is still out.

Posted on June 3, 2011, updated May 29, 2014 Posted on May 23, 2011, updated June 3, 2011 This company had a very nice selection of vegetable seeds. Especially, some of the harder to find corn varieties. After reading some positive reviews of the soil amendments sold here, i ordered some of the organic MegaSea and MegaMator.to use in conjunction with my hydrolyzed fish oil. I will update later in the growing season to report on my experience with these items. The shipping was fast and free. I would do business with Sweet Corn Organic Nursery again.

On June 3rd, 2011, Pitcom added the following: i ended up placing a second order to replace some corn that did not germinate well from another vendor. I ended up getting some of the serendipity corn, and received much more seeds per pack than advertised on the website. The shipping was very fast. All of the beans i planted that i got on the first order germinated well.
On May 29th, 2014, Pitcom changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following: Ordered a few packs of corn seed this year. Each pack was short seed count by 8-17%. I have good success in the past with this company and am dissappointed to see theor seed packs short. Company has not responded to emails. If they fail to respond I will probably purchase my corn seed elsewhere.

I will start by saying that my experience with SweetCornOrganics was during last year's gardening season, but seeing that people are having the same experiences that I did I had to leave a review this year. Never having heard of SCO I placed a $300 order in April of 2013. By the end of May I had no plants and no way of contacting the company, emails went unanswered and the VM box was always full. I posted a negative comment on their FB page threatening to contact my credit card company which finally got notice from them. I got an email and a phone call, they were nice and apologetic and did finally send my order. Half of it was wrong and what did arrive was not in great condition, small, broken, dry. After a second shipment - still in poor condition - I gave up trying to get my money's worth. It was not until the surviving plants started to grow and reap fruit that I realized that some of them were not the varieties that I had ordered. Overall a very bad experience that I would like to save others from.

I ordered from Sweet Corn for the first time last week. The plants came, some ok. some not ok. dried leaves and roots on some. I followed the instructions that came with the plants. I am not a novice, but by the next day I had lost a third of my order. Tried to email, but they did not respond. Called after that but still they did not reply to my voice message. I wont be giving any more orders to a company who ignores customers.

Finally received my order from this company and I am very disappointed with the plants I received. They are so tiny and frail. I mean less than an inch of growth on 4 of them and barely 2 inches on the other 4. These tiny plants were wrapped tightly in plastic and very dry. It was raining the day I received them so I couldn't put them in the ground. I tried unwrapping one to water it and the soil around it just crumbled away and I was left with a bare root so I had to repot it. I poked holes in the other tiny packages and set them in a bowl of water. I have them planted now and and I think maybe half of my plants will not survive. I feel I've been ripped off, not just because of the casualties, but because the pictures on the website showed what looked to be strong healthy 5-6 inch plants. I have tried to contact the company 2 times since my delivery and they haven't responded. What a waste of money and these weren't cheap!

It's been almost a month since I placed my order with Sweet Corn Organic Nursery and I have yet to receive my order OR any update regarding the order. I have emailed and called (only to be sent to voicemail) and don't know how else I can get in contact with customer service. Frustrating!! I planned an area in the garden just for the plants I ordered and don't know whether or not I should just give up on this order and file a complaint through Paypal to get my money back, and purchase plants elsewhere for the empty space in my garden...

Ordered vegie starts in February to be sure I'd have them in good time to plant. Was told they'd ship out April 15th or soon after, good enough for my NorCal location. April 15th came and went, at the 1st of May I gave them a call and was told it would "ship out this week." Didn't actually get them until almost June, then because it shipped in two orders both with the same confirmation number from the post office (methinks) the second order was lost and had to be reordered which meant I didn't get them until mid-June. And wow, these starts were tiny! They had a long way to go yet. Also, I order asparagus beans and they sent asparagus, so that had to be corrected. Long story a little shortened: I ended up buying vegie starts (actually young plants) from a local nursery to make up for possibly not having a harvest until August and I'm glad I did. I have since found that I have also been sent the wrong zucchini, eggplant, bush bean, and tomato as well. On a positive note: the customer service people and Bryan are super nice and I think genuinely want to send you the right stuff in an appropriate amount of time, but for some reason things keep falling through the cracks, as another poster quoted. Another positive note is that their MegaSea fertilizer is amazing, it dissolves quickly in water and my plants have really thrived with it. My last comment is about the website: it seems to be suspended (9-21-13).

Posted on June 2, 2013, updated July 12, 2013 So disappointing. Ordered both seeds and seedlings. Shipped far beyond my planting date for spring seedlings. I called twice and was told they were going out "this week", but shipment arrived late-May for items that should have been in the ground before mid-April. The man I got on the phone said he didn't know why they weren't shipped out earlier. Most seedlings that arrived were little more than sprouts and barely survived shipping (fell out of strapping)... but asparagus seedlings looked very nice, even though I couldn't get them into the ground until late May due to late shipping. Some of the others recovered, many did not. They reportedly ship double your order to make up for shipping losses. On some seedlings, this means 2 separate plants, on others it just means unthinned seedlings. Seed packets were far under count (they sell packs by count not weight). Packs said to hold 60 held 31 (30-50% less than advertised on many)... and I only had patience enough to count the big seeds. Reported the problem and... nothing. The phone number listed on the website does not work... use the number listed on the blog that is linked from the site to contact them. Seed packets are wax envelopes inside plastic sleeves, stapled to an information card. Fine if you are planting all at once, but very inconvenient if you are planting in batches and want to keep the seeds in their original envelopes (I like Johnny's re-sealable envelopes for this). Poor germination on charmant cabbage, culinary sage, chanterais melon, and black beauty zucchini. Good germination on lettuces (of course) and cucumbers. Others too soon to tell. Not everything was bad, but the poor customer service (yes, some orders will "fall through the cracks", but you remedy that with good customer response) and regularly under-count seed packets mean I won't be ordering from Sweet Corn again.

On July 12th, 2013, ehofen changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: Update: I heard back from two of the folks at Sweet Corn and Kim, in particular, was very helpful in resolving my concerns. She took care of all of the problems I had with my order, and even followed up to make sure that my seedlings are coming along well. Apparently, the company is growing by leaps and bounds this year and, as expected, my order just feel through the cracks somehow. This happens. But, I was very pleased with how responsive they were and took care of everything without a complaint. What great folks. One important thing to note: they are one of the only organic and heirloom seed sellers I have found that offer free shipping! This is especially helpful for us backyard gardeners who might only be buying a few seed packets at a time. I think that this applies to their other items as well... even their organic fertilizers, which I am eager to try. My final advice: Give Sweet Corn a try. You'll save bundles on shipping, and their company is small enough that you'll still receive that personalized customer service that made such a difference with my order.

WOW...what GREAT tomato plants.....packaging was also a 10 out of 10......I am jealous...I have been growing my own tomatoes from seeds...for 20 plus years....I have never seen plants this stocky...and beautiful..(my Sungold Cherry tomato plants get too tall prior to planting in the garden)....I also used MEGA MATOR.....MEGA SEA and MEGA FISH for the first time...GREAT could not be happier.....in a terrible growing season I had a steady supply of tomatoes...and I give the soil amendments from SWEET CORN ORGANIC the credit...can not wait until spring 2012.....

I was introduced to Sweet Corn Org. Nursery by a friend. I was a bit skeptical so I only agreed to split a bag of their Mega Mater soil amendment. I had 50 tomato seedlings so I had to spread it a lot thinner than was recommended. I saw results in a couple weeks and they just kept coming. I've been gardening in flagstaff for 15 years with mixed results but this year it was all good. One plant (Gallina) is approaching 7' and many others are approachjing 6'. the plants are holding each other up by interlacing leaves. The stems are sturdy...bigger around than my fingers. And the blossoms! One cluster has 16 flowers (Stupice). The fruit is starting to ripen now, less than 60 days after the seedlings went in the ground. They sure chose the right name for this microbe mixture...MEGA. I'm kicking myself now that I didn't get more.

I ordered seedlings/transplants for the first time since Garden.com closed down many years ago. Man was I impressed!! First of all, the USPS damaged the box, but nothing was disturbed. Plants arrived timely and healthy. The "mega" samples they included to give my plants a great start were useful and I even used it some of my own seedlings that I started from seed. I will absolutely be ordering from Sweet Corn Organics again!

We have been extremely pleased with the live plants, soil amendments and MegaSea products that we've purchased here. They had a wide variety of plants that I had been looking for. Protective packaging for live plants was great and very creative. The instructions for transplanting were very thorough and all the plants came with the needed supplements in sample packaging. All of our transplants have been thriving, with no setback. My favorite supplements so far are the MegaSea and MegaPepe. We've struggled with our peppers this year. Within 2 weeks of adding MegaPepe, the plants finally have begun to grow and thrive. Seed labels are very thorough and specific to the particular variety of seed inside. When I called to clarify something, I was pleasantly surprised to have the phone answered by the nicest man. Help was instant and extremely fruitful.

I purchased some of Sweet Corn's Mega Peppe and Mega Lawn, Mega Sea and Mega Fish and it worked FANTASTIC! My peppers are thriving and I even put it in my flower garden and they are blooming like crazy. My lawn was looking pretty dry and faded eventhough I watered it a lot. I put the Mega Lawn on it and later fed it with the Mega Sea and Mega Fish and it has greened up so much, I am the envy of the neighborhood. It's great! Love the products, and will continue to purchase them. Can't wait to try out the Mega Mator. I love their packaging as well. I'M SOLD!!

I recently tried Sweet Corn's Mega Mator and MegaPepe. The MegaMator is GREAT!! I am having my best tomato year in years. I am a small market gardener and have over 60 tomato plants in the garden. It works great in our Arizona soil. My plants haven't looked this green/vigorous or had so many blooms and small tomatoes in a long time. Will definitely keep using.
