Tracking info claimed the post office delivered the seeds on 9/7, Labor Day (however the post office does not deliver on the Labor Day holiday and I have not received the seeds). When contacted, Sommer Gardens responded to the effect that it was a Post Office problem and did not offer to resend the product, offer a discount on a future order or any form of adequate resolution. Apparently Sommer Gardens doesn't care about repeat business as long as they have your money. On September 10th, 2020, Lorenzo99 added the following: I compare the response of this company to that of another seed seller with whom I made a sizable order some years ago. I never received that order, which was not directly the fault of the seller - yet the seller chose to resend the order, a pleasant outcome which ensured that I remained a satisfied customer of that firm to this day. In this case we're talking about a total of 20 seeds, a minute fraction of what Sommer Gardens sells on eBay. This company essentially told me "tough luck, it's the post office's fault" - not a good way to get further business. On September 11th, 2020, Lorenzo99 changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: Managed to locate the seeds (due to an eBay glitch they were mailed to the wrong address). So the rating has been changed to positive despite the interaction being less than entirely pleasant. Company representative comment on September 10, 2020: On Sep 9, 2020 10:39 PM, Sommer Gardens responded with: Wow, it has been less than 24 hours since you first contacted me about your order and you are already bashing my company. As I stated in my response, USPS is having major issues right now with deliveries and I need time to research your order. As you noted, your order was shipped and mark delivered. I always work to resolve problems with orders, but it is not always done instantly. It takes time to research shipping problems. Before a resolution is made, I need to file a claim with USPS and that takes time as well. Perhaps a little patience would make for a smother resolution? I realize you were expecting an immediate "make good", even before I have a chance to research the problem with the delivery. Good grief, this just happened two days ago! As I stated in my message, because USPS is having major delivery problems now, I need to research your order first. During this period of turmoil at USPS, I have had other orders marked as delivered, but were not at the time, and then showed up 3 days later. I had a couple of orders that tracking showed they were never received at my local post office, and then two weeks later appear at the customers mailbox. It would help if you had a bit more patience as this just happened. Thanks for your understanding. | |

from Garrettsville, OH I've placed 3 online orders with Sommer Gardens through their website over the past several weeks and have been delighted with all of my Brugmansia plants. All were healthy, nice sized, well packed and received within 5-7 days of when the order was placed. I'm a very happy customer and am excited to see what new things are offered next Spring! | |

from Millsap, TX Today 9/17/15 I received the first half of my Order Looking forward to the second half.. This is my first experience shopping there.. I have know Fred for several ys.. I was Thrilled at the size and quality of what I received.. Amazing... some of the best plants I have received and will be bookmarking Sommer Gardens and defiantly shop there again.. from Long Beach, CA I have ordered many times with Fred and Sommer Garden. I have always been happy with the quality of the product sent. Their 10 cutting value pack can not be beat. Ridiculously fast shipping. I usually have my goodies in 2-3 days. I recommend them highly. | |
