First year on my new place so I had to take what was in stock. They had 2 antique varieties which looked to be good for my area. David was very good in his communicating availability and shipping procedures. I got the trees exactly when I wanted and they're great looking. I will be glad to deal with them again in the future.

I learned of Century Farm Orchards from a video. “Pa Mac” from farmhandscompanion.com recommended him. After an email or two to Century Farm Orchards, it became apparent that David Vernon is knowledgeable, and as someone else pointed out, is willing to go the second mile. Being new to apple trees, I had many questions, and David answered them all. I ordered 8 trees. From the time I placed the order, to the time it was shipped, I changed the order twice. The trees were sent on a Monday, and arrived the following day in perfect condition. The whips looked very healthy, and were packed with great care. He has very helpful videos on planting and pruning trees. I would heartily recommend Century Farm Orchards.

I was looking for a couple of "old-timey" apple trees and found this company. David was very helpful with suggesting certain cultivars for what I desired in fruit and after I received my trees I was equally impressed by the quality of the plants. I have two more apples on order which were not in stock when I ordered mine - definitely looking forward to getting them later this year. All 5 trees took off after being planted and recuperated well after some deer browsing. (They are now swaddled in electric fencing) A 5 star experience all around, and glad to see that customer service is still practiced nowadays :).

I recently received trees from three different orchards. By far, Century Farm Orchards gave me the best quality trees for the money. Dave discounted some that were smaller than his usual stock, and they were twice as healthy and tall as the next grower. I love his site and learning about the history of the fruit perfectly suited for my location. Ive got a list of what Im ordering next time ready to go. Dont hesitate to make this your go-to orchard for quality trees, great variety, careful and prompt shipment, and super communication. Thanks Dave!

I ordered ten apple trees from Century Farm Orchards. You get a discount for doing so. David was very helpful, and responded quickly to my emails. The trees were shipped immediately, and were safely packaged.. They are shipped bare root. They look healthy. Looking forward to my new orchard. He has instructional videos telling you how to plant and take care of the new saplings. I am pleased to strongly recommend Century Farm Orchards. Many thanks to David and his family for their excellent service, and their efforts to restore the old Appalachian Apple trees. Bill Wilcher

Purchased trees from Century Farm Orchard in 2012. These small, bare-root whips were SO MUCH MORE VIGOROUS than the garden center-purchased trees I had tried a couple of years earlier. Selection is wonderful. Trees are healthy, strong and vigorous. Service/communication is fabulous. I love that this farm is preserving heritage varieties. I eagerly anticipate purchasing more trees from them in the future, as I get more space cleared on my property. One more thing - the planting instructions and pruning videos provided by CFO were so helpful - thanks to the owners/operators for helping their customers succeed with our trees. I encourage anyone planting apple trees to buy from Century Orchard Farms.

Ordered 67 apple trees from Century Farm Orchards, received specimens of superb quality - all conscientiously packaged and with care. Shipping costs were so reasonable, was quite surprised to receive trees the very next day after they left their nursery. Had several email communications with owner David Vernon. He was always prompt to reply, professionally friendly, knowledgeable - even concerning the most obscure apple varieties. He was willing to take time out of his busy schedule (he's also a high school chemistry teacher) to offer useful tips, share information he has accumulated in the many years of running this outstanding business. It's refreshing to encounter such intelligence, honesty and integrity all in one place. Not usually open to the public, apparently Century Farm Orchards holds "Open House Events" the first 4 Saturdays during the month of November. Am planning to attend one of these, hope to have the honor of meeting David Vernon in person.

I ordered three apples and a pear in the fall of 2012. David was so nice and helpful. He answers emails quickly. The trees I received were the best of stock and there was much helpful literature included. It is the end of summer, 2013, and each tree has grown very well. Super positive rating for this company.

I contacted David with a question about grafting some old apple trees on some property I have in Virginia. These trees are 80 years old and are on their last leg. He told me exactly what to do and I sent him scion wood early that next year. I picked up 10 beautiful grafted apple trees from Century Farms and they are thriving in a new orchard close to the old apple trees that were grafted from. David is honest, fair and goes the extra mile to explain your question. I would not hestitate to use Century Farms for any of my fruit tree needs.

I ordered several apple trees from David Vernon in March of 2010. The trees arrived in approximately a week and a half. They have survived a dry summer and a colder than normal winter and are in good shape. Century Farms is a good place to do business with.

This is my third time buying from Century Farm Orchard. In all I have purchased 18 apple trees. Whenever I think I need a few more, I immediately think of David. If you ever have a chance to visit his open house held each Saturday in November, do it! You get to taste many different varieties of apples, there is a wonderful planting demonstration going on, a chance to buy scrumptious fried apple pies, and samples of apple cider. All this from a family farm. My first order of apple trees from 3 years ago are extremely healthy and I am looking forward to getting apples from them next year. David willingly shares his knowledge of pollination recommendations and growing and pruning techniques. This farm is highly recommended.

Have just finished planting 16 apple trees and 1 pear tree that were shipped to us from Century Farms. The trees arrived in wonderful shape....They were bundled so they wouldn't be damaged in shipping and their roots were enclosed in plastic bags to prevent them from drying out. They arrived on time, were packaged extremely well, and contained a printout with details on planting. Century Farms has a website that includes videos on planting and pruning your trees and they were just what I needed to get the trees off to a good start. My experience with the company says that they are top notch and I will order from them again. I dealt with David and found him to be very professional and helpful.

I bought bare root apple trees from Century Farms this spring and travelled to their farm to pick them up. My order was 8 trees and David helped me with varieties and availability through several emails. I found his farm to be very interesting and he and his father to be the best of people. They have a huge variety of trees available and can have almost any variety grafted and ready for you. The trees were excellent and are all alive and doing well. Trust Century Farms for your apple and pear tree needs.

1st time purchase of apple trees. Dave (owner) and I traded several emails, helping me choose appropriate varieties. Each step of the way was educational and very professional. I actually travelled to his nursery to pick up the trees - they are in great shape, and with the trees he gave me more info to be successful with them. A great experience.

Just received six bareroot apples (whips): one modern (disease resistant) and five heirloom southern selections. They are well grown and sized, very well rooted (many fibrous roots, not just a few main roots), well pruned for shipping, well packed, and shipped exactly when promised. Additionally they were responsive to inquiries by email (regarding selections and rootstock/framework) and scrupulously honest, later finding and crediting a discount I had overlooked.
