Sweet Nectar Nursery

Posted on April 5, 2012, updated June 15, 2013 I thought I would give them a try since they have a dahlia I want. I ordered on Sunday, and got the plants on Wednesday! Very well packaged, very nice plants. I expected a dahlia tuber, but I got one already potted up and growing! That's nice because dahlias are a lot of trouble here in our cold spring. I'll definitely check them again when I'm looking for plants.

I've order from them for the past one or two years and have been very happy! I'll be ordering from them again this year, as soon as, I decide what plants I want. There are so many wonderful plants to pick from! Marilyn KY

Every year, my plants arrive perfectly packed, with great root systems at the exact time I requested. I have never lost a plant from Sweet Nectar Nursery. Susan has been great with her communication if something is out of stock and has made excellent suggestions as to alternatives. I garden for hummingbirds (get hundreds), and I'd be lost without Sweet Nectar. Greatest selection of hummer plants in one place!

I ordered two diermas and a small monarda from Sweet Nectar. They arrived when I asked them to and they look very good. The diermas may not bloom for a year or two, according to their website, but I think it will be worth the wait. I was very pleased with the condition of the plants and their website. I would use this company again.

I received my order in a timely fashion with all of the plants in excellent condition. Susan was a pleasure to deal with and even sent me one extra plant. One of the other items that I ordered was not considered to be a good plant and she wouldn't ship it. I will buy from them again without hesitation.

I will say that I agree, Sweet Nectar Nursery ships things on time, has great packaging and is very helpful. I ordered 7 plants of four varieties. One plant, although packaged well, fell out of it's pot. I searched the pot for roots and there were just none to be found. Susan promptly refunded me for this plant when I told her about it. Five other plants were great! They were fully rooted and well on their way. The other I am hoping that it will survive. It had a poor root system and spindly growth. I did not complain about this plant as it did have some roots and some life to it. I would try them again.

I saw a picture of a ‘Milkshake’ coneflower in a gardening magazine early in the year and immediately wanted it to be a part of a specific grouping in my garden this summer. I searched the internet and came across Sweet Nectar Nursery as a source for this plant. After checking here on Dave's garden, I placed my order for one plant on February 2nd and sent off my check. I received an email on the 6th of February stating that my payment had been received and my order was scheduled to ship the week of May 3rd, weather permitting. The message also stated that I would receive a reminder the week before that. Last week, on the 28th of April, I received that reminder. Today, May 5th, I received the plant I had ordered. I have never before seen a plant from a mail-order nursery so well packed and protected from damage during transit. It arrived in excellent condition with nothing broken off. I couldn’t be happier if the owner of the nursery had personally delivered the plant and installed it in my garden. My single-plant order seems to have been treated with the same respect as one numbering in the dozens and worth hundreds of dollars. I’ll definitely be buying from this nursery again, even if it means trying some plants I might not otherwise have considered. I might even have to add some new beds.

I ordered for the first time from this nursery. I wanted plants for hummers. My plants arrived on the date promised. I ordered a flowereing maple and it already has blooms on it! All of my plants were in excellent condition and I was surprised by the size. They offer some really unique plants and I will definitely order from them again.

I haven't ordered yet, but I'm soo excited to. I have just found this site and I can't wait to get my hands on some of these beauties for my bird beauties!

First time ordering, two plants, pot size 3". Received plants within two days (same state), incredible packaging, plants were fresh, perky, no wilting or damage at all. For size pot, was half expecting to receive a couple of rooted twigs, but these were fair size, healthy plants, bushy. Very happy. Will definitely use this company again.

I ordered some candy for my hummers that arrived on my door step so fast. I was delighted by the plants I recieved. They were in excellent condition, and the selection was a charm.

Healthy well-grown plants, an eclectic & intriguing selection, speedy shipping, very good packing and the big plus for me was that I received an email before the plants arrived telling me that 2 plants would need a few days in a sheltered location before planting and that 1 plant was still dormant but would start visible growth w/ warmer temps. The fact that the owner took the time (in spring, no less!) to inform me is as valuable a shopping experience as the info itself. I will return for more plants in the future. And for all organic gardeners: by next year all the plants will be grown under organic conditions (although I'm unsure about the certification...). I only wish I'd found Sweet Nectar earlier as she was sold out of a lovely dahlia and my favorite Asclepias!!

I received my order today and was extremely pleased. The packaging was superb, arrived as scheduled / ontime, and the plants are healthy and beautiful!!! I will be a regular customer and recommend this nursery highly... Thanks Susan :)

I ordered 8 plants for my hummers I can't seem to find at the local nurseries. Sweet Nectar shipped when I requested and the plants arrived in 2 days. The plants were packed better than any mail-order nursery I've ever bought from, and I've tried several from Dave's Top 30. The plants arrived in excellent condition, healthy, moist, well-rooted, all foliage intact, no spilled potting mix, and all 3 of the Justicia brandegeana have budding blooms. Sweet Nectar Nursery is a reliable nursery with non-inflated prices and reasonable shipping costs. I'll do business with them again...I hope you will also!

Outstanding! The plants I received where packaged extremely well and are exceptionally healthy! It is abundantly clear that this company takes great pride in their product and goes the extra mile to insure that the shipment arrives in top shape. What a wonderful experience I had with this site! I emailed them asking for suggestions since I am a novice, and I received a response from Susan within one day. We emailed back and forth and she was amazingly patient with my questions and just as helpful suggesting the right plants for me to order. The plants came very carefully packaged and each plant had a page of instructions, which I really appreciated. I only wish Susan was not across the country; I could really use her hand-holding as I learn how to garden. I will definitely use Sweet Nectar Nursery again. Oh, I forgot to mention how amazing the site is. Visit it and you will see what I mean.

my order was shipped on the exact date susan said it would be but was lost by the shippers. a week later when i notified susan that i had not received her package she immediately sent more plants. well today i received that box and the one that she sent 2 wks ago. escept for a small amout of leaf yellowing on one of the plants from the "lost" shipment it is hard to tell which plants were sent first. so that is a testament to excellent packing. plus the plants are just beautiful and so well rooted. and a more excellent communicator would be hard to find. this is a great company and i would not hesitate to order again. thank you susan.
