Posted on July 23, 2012, updated July 23, 2012 Posted on July 18, 2012, updated July 23, 2012 I ordered two Berlin Lamps and one ornate mailbox (4-12/2012) - total cost around $3100. Tuscumbia Iron works say 6 weeks to fill the order, and charges my credit card a down-payment of $957.50. Six weeks go by and no products have arrived. I figured "OK, maybe there's a back-log for some reason - these things happen, surely it'll be here by 8 weeks." Wrong - 8 weeks come and go - and still no lamps and no mailbox. In between I call and speak with the receptionist (Sandra) - she assures me they are working on it. Another couple of weeks pass - no e-mail updates, no phone updates. I call again - and am now finding that it's harder to get a hold of these folks. Most of the time I have to leave a message - but no one calls me back. I do get a call back eventually, and the receptionist assures me all is on schedule. In the meantime, my card is charged the remainder of the amount due (i.e., $1944 on 6-17-2012) - but still no sign of the order. As more weeks pass I make more calls - now most of the time no one answers; if they do answer it's always that "it was shipped" that it's "on it's way". . . I call again and leave a message - get no return call. I call again, no answer. It's now approximately 14 weeks now - so I call my credit card company to dispute the charge - and that's where I'm at now (7-17-2012). UPDATE: got my money back from the credit card company. No word from Tuscumbia. MY ADVICE TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BUYERS: DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, NOT ANSWER YOUR CALLS, AND WORSE YET NOT SEND YOU WHAT YOU PAID FOR. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE ENTIRE DEAL - RECOMMEND YOU DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE LYING DOGS.

On July 23rd, 2012, kodiak427 changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: The company rep is in fact correct that the items were shipped and did arrive on 7-23-2012 - - 14.5 weeks from the time of the original order. All of this could have been avoided through better communications. I called many times - but did not receive any response - either by telephone or by e-mail. When one says they're going to deliver a product in 6 to 8 weeks time - well then that's when I expect it to be delivered. And if there's any type of delay that should cause that time to be extended - well then that's fine - so as long as you communicate it. But when you charge my card, and don't communicate the delays, and don't answer my calls or e-mails - - I'm sorry, I'm going to react and that's why the Negative rating. The company rep is correct - the items are very nice; I'm changing my rating to Neutral.
On July 23rd, 2012, kodiak427 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: After looking over the items - they look great and are well packed. It really looks like the company takes pride in what they do and how they ship the item. I'm willing to write this off as a simple miscommunication - and am changing the rating to positive.

This claim is not correct, the items were shipped to the gentleman on July 11th which was 7 days before this claim. The items were shipped by Roadrunner Transportation, the tracking/pro number is 242045912 and can be tracked at http://www.rrts.com. If you track the products then you can see the date the items were shipped. It does appear from the shipping comments that Roadrunner tried to deliver this on both the 16th and 17th. The shipping date can be seen when tracked.
I am not sure how long Roadrunner keeps it's online tracking information available online however if any potential client has any questions regarding the claims of this shipment then we will be happy to provide documentation.
We do regret that this client was unhappy with the service they received, I am sure they will be pleased with the products. We do strive to hold good communication with all of our clients and if a call comes in outside of our regular business hours or while we are either on the phone or with a client then we do hope that a voicemail will be left and we will call back as soon as possible. We did attempt to reach the client earlier today (before this was posted) with his tracking information.

After reading the negative comments about this company, I decided to check it out. The DA of North Alabama has absolutely NOTHING on file against anyone named Coble and the BBB gave them an A- rating. I have always had a quick response from these people and they certainly don't sound nor act like "Rednecks" or "Low Lifes". The only problem I have had with this company is it is sometimes difficult to reach the owners personally because they are usually at a job site installing products their customers have ordered. So, I don't really consider that a problem as there is always someone in the office who relays messages to them, I consider it just simply good business that an owner cares enough to travel to another state to a job site to insure it is handled correctly and professionally.

Tuscumbia Iron Works is yet another morph of the thieving clan of redneck Coble's . Don't be mislead by their BS. They lie with impunity. I was part of the court ordered restitution (from Southeastern Archtectural Metals) and I am still waiting on my money. All of this change is yet another attempt to defraud the public. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE LOW LIFE'S!!

No, I am not Robert Coble. I have never owned or worked for Southeastern Architectural Metals or Coble Metal Works. I am an honest businesswoman. I work hard to insure my customers are satisifed. I started my business in May of last year and have hundreds of very happy clients. I go above and beyond to make people feel at ease making a purchase over the internet. I do not recall ever speaking to someone named Regina in Canada. I have looked through all messages from phone calls and all emails. I have no records of a Regina in Canada. I do not know what her problem is with me. I wish that she would contact me so that if there is a problem I can resolve it. I know that no one has purchased anything from me in Canada with that name. Please disregard. Thank you. Devin Coble

I first contacted Tuscumbia Iron Works (TIW's) on 8/22/07 and the Owner was extremely helpful and responsive. I ordered antique lamp posts, globes, and wiring on the following day. The posts were not in stock, therefore TIW's ordered them with an estimated minimum lead time of 6 - 8 weeks. We emailed each other occasionally for status/updates. I just received (10-29-07) the posts and associated accessories and everything is fine (exactly as we agreed to in the TIW's contract). TIW's had some delays due to weather, etc. I have been pleased with their professional and responsive service. I intend to do additional business with TIW's and recommend the company to my friends.
