We ordered the 3 giant plants and it comes with the 3 free early plants. It took 3 weeks to finally get them after I had to contact the company by email why it was taking so long to ship. The plant arrived in the regular mail in just a small cardboard box with no protection for the plants themselves. The roots were in plastic bags and the plants were sticking out which got smashed in delivery and were about dried up when we received them. I don't know what the shipping fee of 15.90 was for because there was nothing special. It wasn't even marked "Live Plants" on the pkg. either. We are keeping the plants because it isn't worth sending them back. But will never order from this company ever again. :(

After reading the reviews about this company I check and noticed that my credit card had not been billed. The order was placed over 2 weeks ago. I decided to cancel the order. Found the web site and their phone #. I called them and first got a recording to go to www.myorderlist.com. I did that and got a summary of the order including a date shipping which was into middle of May. I called the company back and a person answered the phone--very professionally. I told him that I had a pending order I wanted to cancel. I gave him my order number and verified my name, address. He told me the order was canceled. He gave me a cancellation number. So I have to give them a good rating on taking care of an order that had not shipped.

I saw the ad on tv for the giant tree tomatoe plants, great I ordered them over the phone and of course got the 3 big early's for the shipping also. Paid for express shipping, 5 to 7 days. Didn't get an amount on the phone they were taking from my credit card before the recording hung up. Well the commercial says they're plants. I got 6 peat pots with 6 seeds in the mail 13 days later. Tried to find a number of this place in CT. Couldnt find it. Actually found the number from another company in another state that gave me their number. I called them and told them I didnt even know how much my order was cause I didnt get a invoice. She told me the amount. And I was very unhappy with the seeds when the ad on tv says plants.I then complained to her about the priority shipping they charged me when it didnt come priority. She said it shipped in 2 days, I told her it didn't because it wouldve made it here in less then 12 and there was no priority sticker with the tracking number on the package. They are actually sending me a refund, Very misleading. I will never order off of another tv ad again. My best bet is to order off the internet where I can read and have the proof. We will see if I get my money back. oh yea, 32.88 for 6 seeds. Isn't that a hoot?

I also saw the ad on TV for these awesome looking tall tomato plants. If I were asked the question of: "What food can you live without?" the answer would be tomatoes!! Right now I have five tomato plants. Two of them producing different types and flavors of what I refer to as "a food I can't live without".So obviously I was intrigued to learn about a plant that could grow such big fruit and produce enough to keep up with MY demand.Of course I never believe in what I hear and half of what I see, and I'm an exhaustive researcher. So before I was to part with my hard earned money I went online to do my homework about this product. Here is what I found out: If you place an order for a mere $10 dollars plus S&H you receive, 3 Tree Tomato Nursery Packs (growing plants) and as an added bonus you get 3 Big Early Nursery Packs (plus more S&H). That means you pay $10 for the plants (and I'm using this term loosely) plus $7.95 for the first S&H, and the added bonus plants plus another $7.95 S&H for their gift to you!So that all adds up to a whopping $25.90.Now if for some reason you are not completely satisfied with the product you have received, the company has an unconditional satisfaction guaranteed policy. What does that mean?It means that you can return the merchandise in it's ORIGINAL CONDITION and NOT ALTERED.Now how are you to do this if you tried to grow them? Of course it's going to be altered, at the least you had to add water. The policy also states that the package has to be returned in a re-sellable condition. So after all the wait time to receive, test, and return the product to their high volume production company, and then for them to qualify you for a refund ($10 dollars) less S&H, they will ship out your unsatisfactory product to someone else?Is that the reason for sending back the package "Re-sellable"?Now say that you got damaged merchandise and you want to sent it back for a full refund ($10 dollars) less S&H. If you send them back the damaged goods (you pay the return postage) and they deem it damaged they will not issue you a refund but they will send you back YOUR damaged goods. People do your homework and if you have a craving for the fruit of the gods, go to the store and invest in good, quality, tasty tomatoes. You can't go wrong by going this route. Or do as I did and go buy plants that you can see if you have to have them everyday like I do. Yeah you also have to buy a pot, soil, and some fertilizer but I guarantee that it won't cost you as much as what has been stated previously. Plus you won't have to wait as long! Buyer beware...

I ordered three tree tomatoes and three early tomatoes after seeing their TV ad. When they arrived, instead of receiving plants, I received six peat pots with seeds (?) to start. Very misleading since they promised fruit by July 4th and today is April 30. I called the company and expressed my dissatisfaction and they said that I could return them within 13 days and they would give me a refund. When I asked how much I would get, I was told that I would only be refunded $10.00 and not the additional $15.95 S&H fee so I would be out that amount plus whatever it would cost me to return them.....why bother. I have reported this to my credit card company and will be contacting the BBB and some of my local television news consumer reporters to bring this to their attention

DON'T GET SUCKED IN LIKE I DID!!! This company also has a Canadian division. I first saw the ad for Giant Tomato Trees listed in a coupon flyer. I decided to order 2 plants just to give them a try. The ad clearly stated that I would be receiving plants not seeds! However when the arrived I recieved 2 small peat pots filled with soil with seeds pre sown in them. I wrote back to the compay explaining that this is not what I wanted and that it was false advertising and asked for my money back. I have never heard anything back from them. I did start the seeds and they did both grow. The plants however were by no means giant (2 feet) they did produce a few tomatos but nothing out of the ordinary. I want to warn everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

My husband ordered the "As Seen on TV Giant Tree Tomato plant" . I WAS very skeptical but I gave them a try. It DID take a while longer than I thought it would Not really happy about that but....... I rec'd them in GOOD condition. I followed the instructions provided and they sprouted very easily and I got 3 sprouts in 4 out of 5 starter pots. 1 pot did nothing. Not bad odds, I'd say. They grew to about 4" tall and I transplanted each sprout into 6" clay pots and all did well and are growing rapidly. I am now trying to decide how I want to plant them....in the ground or in lg. pots. I RATHER do the pots but I'm not sure how to go about it when they get larger. I know I need to stake them but I'm not sure how they differ from regular tomatoes in that regard. It would help if they would provide more in depth growing and care instructions for planting in pots. I can't wait to see how they progress from here.

I questioned my wisdom when I first received my plant packs but after watering and waiting for the seeds to germinate my faith was restored. Several packs had multiple plants which I divided when I transplanted and I had plenty to give away. I now have all of those advertised and they are growing like crazy, with several tomatoes already showing and lots of blooms. If they taste as amazing as the plants look I will be very pleased with the results and from the looks of the plants I will have the largest "TREE TOMATOES" ever grown. I also ordered the Pepper plants and they are doing fine too. Lots of blooms for the future crop.

Back in early March 2008, I ordered the Tomato Giant..Then in April, I finally got billed on my card, still yet to receive the plants.I came across this website 3 days after my card was billed, becoming worried about the order I placed. A week later, I receive a post card from the company saying my order has been delayed. Last Friday, May 16th, I finally received my SEEDS, which I was not at all happy about since it is now really too late for planting a new "crop" and being that when I ordered, I was "guaranteed" to have fresh ripened tomatoes for the Fourth Of July! Which I won't I'm sure...I planted the seeds on Friday and now waiting to see what is going to happen...I'll keep you posted how things work out...

All I can say is THANK YOU for this website. I just saw the commercial on CNN, and was about to order some of these for my grandfather who spends much of his time nursing tomato plants, and thought this would be a way cool gift. Thanks for warning me!

Although I never ordered the TomatoGiantTrees, I was about to when fortunately, I came across this website. It was interesting to learn Michegan Bulb was the same company offering this product. I had ordered from them several years ago and had failure after failure with their products. Anyway I also came across a website (Lipenwald, Inc.) affiliated with different companies selling their products including the TomatoGiantTree on T.V. Their E-Mail is support@lipenwald.com. I believe this may be the company you would want to talk to about any problems your having with this product.

I ordered the tomato tree in a pot. Received it, watered it - all according to the directions. NOTHING! Ordered again - VERY CAREFULLY followed directions. NOTHING!! Guess I'm a slow learner - ordered again, but this time I sifted through the soil and there was NOTHING in it - no seed - NOTHING. Tried calling, writing - just like the pot - NOTHING! Now, I saw the ad on TV for the giant tomato tree. Thought I'd go to the website to find out more and up pops Dave's Garden. Thank goodness!! I might have ordered it again!!!

I Purchased several Items from this co. several years ago. I believe at the time they were known as Michigan Bulb. They had such bad repore with ther items, and I was one of them . They changed there name to something else and so on . They should be permanetly put out of business. I couldn't get my money back nor would they reply to my requests They are not a reputable Company to do business with. This goes back to the 1980's

In April, after seeing the convincing commercial for the Gardener's Choice tomatoes, we ordered $48.00 worth of tomato and pepper plant seedlings. Upon receipt, they were wrapped in tight plastic, dry beyond belief and nearly impossible to open without spilling the loose dry contents (which they do warn you of doing in the instruction booklet). After finally getting them opened, I placed them (24 units) in a window planter. Following the directions, TO THE LETTER, we have been waiting for the seedlings to emerge from the dirt. In actuality, a few have. However, the advertisement and the accompanying paperwork do "spout" way more than the seeds!!! I have phoned the company repeatedly without success. From the minute of opening hour to the minute of closing the line is debusy. The answering machine does not take messages. There has been no reply to my extensive emails. Fortunately, we did not write a check for the product but used the charge card. We have canceled that purchase, as the product clearly states that it is GUARANTEED to meet it's claims of the advertising!!! I strongly suggest that NO ONE purchase anything from the Michigan based company "Gardener's Choice" and I will be writing to the media outlets that provide the company's advertising outlets, as well as the BBB, to hopefully assist in stopping this company from further defrauding and taking advantage of others.

Sent $25.86 to these crooks on March 13th. A small package arrived over a month later with twelve one by one pods filled with a soil mix and MAYBE some seeds. The value of the seed pack is about two dollars . I followed the sprouting instructions and after three weeks - nothing. The package was supposed to contain FOUR different types of tomato seeds. I could see one type of seed not germinating, but not four. They don't answer the phone or emails, so I will try to go through my Visa card for a refund. Boy do I feel stupid for not checking this company's reputation before ordering. The order number was 2895 in case the company wants to check into it. Tony Grimm, Hemet, CA.

I ordered two of their 'Tomato Trees' and received the seeded tomato pots - the instructions were very detailed as to how to begin the seeding process, but did not include watering instructions AFTER the seeding process began - I ve submitted an e-mail request to the Customer Service dept. and am awaiting an answer. I'll check back when (if ?) I get an answer.

I tried to order tomatoes today, they could not give me a date after that I would be in the area so that the tomatoes would not sit in the post office and I not be here to plant them or to water and harden them off. Also the shipping date was before our last frost date in our area. I told them to forget it.

Many thanks to all the commentators listed here. I am posting to re-iterate the disbelief expressed below as to why this company is still in business!?!?!? I JUST NOW THIS MORNING saw a fabulous ad on Discovery Times TV network for "Giant tree tomatoes" at tomatogiant.com - looked FAB, went right to the website, picked out some plants and put the total due for my order ($35 after they showed me some other cool looking plants) in my current budget worksheet. Just on a whim, before I gave up my CC number, I entered "Gardener's Choice tomato scam" in my Google-ator, and was directed to 370,000 website hits! Thank the great spirit for these rating sites, and I pray everyone else tempted to order these plants finds you guys like I did!!! Why does Comcast take money for ads from these people? Anyone know how to get their ads cancelled?? ATTENTION Mr. Mike Cox, MI AG - IF YOU READ THIS: dude, I voted for you before I moved down here to FL (due to NO JOBS IN MICHIGAN) PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS COMPANY!!!! Thanks Dave's Garden family! jewels ~ a gardener in Key West ~ namaste....
