I have been going to Caldwell Nursery for several years. If you are looking for a hard to find plant this is the place to go. They have one person in charge of the nursery and if it gets busy you may have to wait, but it is well worth it, Caydee can answer all your gardening questions. You can also call ahead and she will have your plants waiting for you since it is a huge place and if your looking for a particular plant. I don't mind wandering around I could spend hours looking at everything. I love it.

I recommend Caldwell Nursery to everyone I know. Cay Dee knows more about plants, what grows in shade, sun, wet, dry, and she is very good at gaging the gardening experience of her customers. There have been times when I have been at the nursery and have asked about a certain plant and she advised me that due to my gardening abilities she would not recomend this plant for me. I would much rather deal with someone who is up front than someone that would sell me anything. There is nothing more frustrating or expensive than to purchase plants that require more knowledge in gardening and to have the plants die. When you go expect Cay Dee to be busy, take your time and stroll through the nursey and look at Cay Dee's gardens as well. This is not the place to go if your in a rush....this is a place to enjoy the common to the unusual plants, and get lots of gardening ideas. Too bad there is only one Cay Dee...she is a fountain of knowledge.

What a place! It is expansive with every plant an experienced gardener has ever seen and even more plants that are rare and unusual. Tropicals, antique roses, bamboo, perennials, native plants, orchids, water gardening, heirloom vegetables, funky succulents, concrete fountains and statuary, hard-to-find herbs, flowering vines, garden accessories and oh, oh, oh the daylilies. They really have it all. Plan to go for several days. This nursery was highly recommend by a friend from The Rare Plant Society and was definately worth the drive to Texas. Take a lunch as the grounds are well worth seeing from one of their many beautiful vistas. Pet friendly!!!

I have been ordering plants from CayDee for the last year and a half. I have had nothing but positive experiences in ordering from her. If there is an issue with an order it is taken care of immediatley, the plants always are it great shape when they arrive. Caydee always answers my e-mails in a timely manner even during the holidays when I am putting together my spring order.

I have been going to and buying from Caldwell's for years. I find they have many tropicals not found elsewhere. CayDee knows plants and how to grow them. Since she runs and manages this very large nursery by her self, you might have to wait for her but its worth it.
