I ordered two plants from this company on ebay. I paid for them by paypal on 6/2. I sent many emails with no return. Today I called and they said my order did not get picked up. In reply to why they never answered my emails they told me the person that takes care of that was off work with a broken. foot. They assured me my order would go out this week as a 2 day ship. I reserve any negative feedback at this time. I will stay positive and hope my plants will be in good health and will arrive soon.

On June 21st, 2008, DanceyTx added the following: I will remain Neutral on my rating for this Nursery. I paid promptly on the date I won the auction, 6/2/08. I never received a confirmation of my purchase or a date for shipment. I sent many many emails requesting information to no avail. Upon filing a dispute with ebay I was able to obtain an address and phone number of the nursery. So I did call them. Where is Customer Service today? I did receive my two plants today 6/20/08. They are healthy. I will not purchase plants from this nursery in the future.

I've ordered 21 plants from this company this month and sent them half a dozen emails concerning my order (NONE of which received a reply). I paid for the first half of the plants last week and told them to hold until the 23rd, stating there would be more added onto the order. I won my other plants and they sent me an invoice today asking me for a shipping price that didnt combine the orders. I sent them an angry reply but God knows they won't read that either. They complain about their high volume of emails but don't even own a phone for customer service support. I don't know if I'll even receive any plants at all, so far they seem like a scamming company.

The rose I received looked wonderful. Not being a big rose fan, it showed potential for making me a rose fan. Well, it turned out not to be the color I expected, not even close. I contacted Perfect Plant today to tell them of my dismay, not really expecting to ever hear from them again. To my delight, when I got home tonight, they had already credited my PayPal account for the full amount. THANK YOU Perfect Plant.

I am going to try this ONE more time here where maybe I can get a response.. No one replied to my last e-mails to the Sandi or in Ebay regarding this order. I asked, and Sandi agreed, to ship after Monday May 12 since I was out of town on business, and I couldn't (wasn't allowed to) pick the order up even though I live just a little over an hour away and was in Greenwood SC the week after my auctions closed. Instead the order was shipped Thursday May 8, and these tiny plants sat in a box for FIVE days on my porch in the sun. Both the little (and pricey at $18 each including shipping for a one shoot two inch plug) Gold Heart dicentras are not recovering nor is the clematis; whether they make it only time will tell. Two of the three brunnera are gone and no it's not time for them to "go dormant"!. Everything else is in my "nursery" receiving TLC and will have to stay there for some time before they can be planted in the garden. I have really gotten some great plants from Ebay and some people seem to have the knack for packaging and shipping plants and getting them to you healthy. Another seller sent me some wonderful (potted, not stripped) native plants and has e-mailed me twice just to be sure they arrived OK and are thriving! A grower in OREGON just shipped me a huge gallon Epimedium in full leaf for $16 including shipping, which is in the ground and putting out like crazy, but it really has become a coin toss as to what you'll get, in terms of both plants and service. I'll come here to Dave's Garden before buying ANYTHING again from an Ebay plant company to check out feedback for sure!! I will leave Perfect Plant appropriate feedback in Ebay beginning June 1, primarily because of the failure to respond to my e-mails and messages in Ebay.

We do our best to answer all emails. I am sure you can understand this is our busiest time. Because of this, Dave's garden messages rarely get checked. I have refunded for the plants you mentioned. I am sorry the order could not be stopped when you requested it to be shipped on a specific date. Your plants are guaranteed for a full year. If others fail we will replace them.

It is true we do not allow pick ups on orders. We are a small business that does not have facilities for visitors.

I have ordered hundreds of plants from PP. I have had a few problems along the way, but Sandi has resolved them all usually within 2-3 weeks. It is frightening sometimes when something goes wrong thinking there is no one out there listening. They do take a little longer than some to respond but have always resolved my issues. This is the second spring that I have ordered from them and my plants are doing well especially the 20+ clematis. The prices are reasonable the shipping is a little high but the orders are shipped Fed X and sometimes arrive in 3 days and sometime even on Sat. I am currently waiting on 4 orders from them and have had a few plants that did not make it that I have emailed for a replacement. I think when they see that you are a repeat customer they do not require you to pay shipping on the replacement. I never have had to in the past, but like I said I have ordered hundreds of plants in the last year. I love shopping on their Ebay site to see what is new. I am pleased with them and I felt that I needed to let you know of my experiences.

I ordered 25 Thuja Steeplechase trees @ $13 each = $325. They have an advertisement on the ebay page (for the Thuja) that if the order is above $300 you get free shipping and a 15% rebate, with the rebate posted back into your account within 7 days. They honored the free shipping, but the rebate is yet to materialize (2 weeks now). I have emailed them numerous times via Ebay, Daves Garden, Paypal and my own email account trying to resolve the issue but I have received no reply. So I am stuck with leaving negative feedback. This is a disappointing outcome to me as the plants they sent were wonderful, extremely well packed, with fast shipping and Saturday delivery! But the lack of the promised rebate and no email contact sours the otherwise positive experience. Hopefully they are just extremely busy and will rectify this oversight shortly.

On May 30th, 2008, barraboy changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: The refund arrived. All is well. I assume that they were just very busy and there was a delay with the refund. I would order from this company again. The plants were of high quality, well rooted and a very good value!

I ordered 3 bulbs off Ebay from PP and they arrived promptly and one has already started to grow nicely. The combined shipping rate was excessive but I am sure that is to suppliment the item sales price but they do clearly state the shipping rate so I knew what I was going to be charged and combined with the actual price paid for the bulbs it was a decent deal, but considering they are affliated with Wayside Gardens (that is another LONG lousy story which I will write up soon) I am satisfied with PP.

On June 16th, 2008, WinterStinks changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following: Just to follow up, I never said you WERE Wayside Gardens just affiliated with them according to Dave's is this isnt accurate then you should have this corrected. As far as your shipping is concerned $7.25 for one item and $3 thereafter is reasonable for 1-5 plants or so but if someone were to buy 15 for instance you would charge over $50 for shipping that is certainly excessive. I also am an Ebay Powerseller and that is certainly too way too much and your DSR shows it accordingly. Way too many Ebay sellers try to suppliment what they want to really want to sell an item for by overcharging for shipping and it turn bypassing the Ebay fees on that amount. While I will not argue Ebay and Paypal fees are not cheap, I also clearly can see what is going on and again I DID state even with the shipping I found your items a good deal and I found my transaction with you to be satisfactory and was trying to encourage others to give you a try as at least you did ship promptly, the items were as descibed and however i feel about your shipping policy/charges they are clearly stated by you.

I am hoping to change this rating but at the moment am getting really frustrated. I bought some plants from these people off of ebay. I bought three chocolate cosmos, one joe pye weed and three shasta daisy's. There shipping is really odd as they won't ship everything together. Seems a waste of there own money. They shipped some of the chocolate cosmos on a day where it ended up sitting in the post office all weekend. They were not alive when they finally got here. I emailed and they sent replacements......in two separate shipments, two arrived decent but were dead within a couple days. I have emailed twice now to see what can be done about this and they have not emailed back. I am not stuck with 5 dead chocolate cosmos (3 original, 3 replacements minus one that has regrown a bit from the roots) and one dead joe pye weed. I get that I didn't pay a ton of money for these plants, but I paid way more then I would have locally for there size. If they had sent healthy plants then I would probably shop with them again. I am very frustrated with all of this but mostly it seems that none of my emails get answered. When I emailed the first time for replacements it took MANY emails before I got an answer. I was told that my emails "slipped through the cracks". I guess it happened again. I will be glad to change this rating if things are fixed......I am not sure how that can happen now though. Shipping mid-late week is ridiculous. Plants sitting in a post office over the weekend are NOT going to survive. Arg.

On April 19th, 2008, allynacea added the following: Well, out of nowhere a joe pye weed plant arrived today. It had a note that said it was dormant....not dead. Odd since the one I got a few weeks ago was about 5" tall. It is growing a tad from the pot so that is something. I am not willing to change my rating though until all the plants that I ordered are here and alive. Once I have two more live chocolate cosmos than I will consider. I am still horrified by the amount of unanswered emails and am not sure I will shop with perfect plant even IF things are fixed but it would show some tact on their part.

My experience with Perfect Plant has been good. They backed up their product 100%. Since there weren't replacement plants to send to me, for plants that didn't survive the winter, they refunded my money in Paypal. I found that if you treat people with respect and are nice, usually, you have a good response. I was happy with their communication and their willingness to please me as a customer. I would definately purchase plants from them again. :-) C. Agnew

At first I was going to post a neutral (plants were tiny, only one was in a pot. For $18.50 for 2 plants, I expected a bit more). Then I received an email asking me to delete my "neutral" rating on Ebay, with a sarcastic comment that I can't expect them to send "mature" plants through the mail. Since I got email from other buyers telling me their plants were also tiny, it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. (I was also told that some won't post neutral or negative ratings about Perfect plant on Ebay because they're seen retaliatory statements from the seller). I've purchased plants online for years. This is my last time buying from Perfectplant.

I won 4 auctions on ebay, in fact I feel guilty for paying so little. The plants arrived quickly, they were packed well, good root systems, and a lot bigger than I had expected. They all came potted (the pots probably cost more than what I paid for the plants). Shipping charges were more than reasonable. My only complaint is that it took them a long time to answer an email question I asked after winning the plants, but it's no big deal, especially considering what I paid. I hope to buy more from them in the future.

These guys are like a Walmart plant store. They have some very good deals sometimes and sometimes the plants are small ..so-so. I have ordered probably a hundred plants from them.I only complained one time and they did give me a refund. My advise is stick to the plants that come in gallon containers. If you shop wisely you can snag some nice plants.

I live in SC, not at all far from Perfect Plant, maybe an hour away or so. I ordered several plants on their Ebay site and asked, via email, if I could pick up my plants at their location. I figured I would have an opportunity to shop further and to enjoy a ride with my family at the same time. I'd rather to have spent the money at the store instead of on HIGH SHIPPING. AS THE SHIPPING FEE IS OUTRAGEOUS, I also thought I would buy more plants once there on site instead of paying, now get this, 54.00 to ship $18 worth of plants. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I did NOT RECEIVE ANY RESPONSE from Perfect Plant. I was INCENSED! It is my opinion that Perfect Plant is LOUSY at customer service and like others who have posted here, I will NOT purchase from them again. NOT EVER!

On March 27th, 2008, MistyPetals changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: After reviewing the response Perfect Plant posted here and after placing and receiving additional plants from Perfect Plant, I realize they are trying to do better. For those reasons, I have decided to change my rating to neutral.
On April 8th, 2008, MistyPetals added the following: Stil neutral after ordering a plant on their Ebay site on March 19 and FINALLY receiving it on April, 8. That's almost month to ship 1 plant from SC to SC. By the way, I believe the only reason they FINALLY responded to me is because I sent an e-mail through thei DG e-mail on their page. THAT GOT THEIR ATTENTION. Oh, they never answered the emails I sent through Ebay. If not for this forum, DAVES GARDEN, I believe I would never have seen my plant nor the refund I requested. These people are shady characters who only respond when the heat is on from DG. Personally, I think that's a terrible way to treat the gardening public. I'm back to being very weary of their tactics. To assuage their guilt, they sent copper markers as a freebie. The stress and headache of ordering from Perfect Plant is simply not worth it, in my honest opinion.
On May 18th, 2008, MistyPetals changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following: I'm changing this rating to a NEGATIVE!!! Here's why...the plant I received is not an EBB TIDE..I ordered an Ebb Tide rose and now in the height of the season where I am patiently waiting to see blooms, I see a YELLOW bloom on an Ebb Tide?!?!?!?!?!!! Come on people. Change the name of the company already. After all if truth in advertising is the LAW, then surely your name would be more fitting as IMPERFECT PLANT. HERE'S WHAT I THINK HAPPENED. You guys NEVER HAD THE EBB TIDE ROSE, YOU KNEW PEOPLE WOULD CLAMOR LIKE CRAZY TO WIN THE EBB TIDE ON EBAY AND YOU LISTED ONE BUT YOU DIDNT HAVE ONE TO SELL. YOU WANTED THE MONEY an Ebb TIde would bring and so you CHEATED AND LIED. Your company motto must read -TO HE*L WITH TRUTH. ********************************** EVER HEARD OF MAIL FRAUD???. I have ordered plants form this company in the past through ebay and all the plants were in good condition except my last order. I ordered a hosta & Carefree Sunshine rose. The rose arrived with severe bs and the hosta leaves brown. Maybe the hosta is going dormant. It took two emails through ebay to received a $4.00 refund which did not cover the cost of the rose and shiping. Once burnt, twice shy is my motto.

Interesting information that Perfect plants is basically identical with Park seeds. Wayside, I had a lingering suspicion because some of the roses offered are so new that nobody could have offered them except a Canadian vendor ans Wayside/Park. IN any case, I got 3 big packages from them yesterday and the plants were perfectly packed: I was amazed - I wish Park/Wayside would pack their plants so well as they did these items I got via eBay. I cannot complain about the quality of the plants at all; with the exception of the bearded irises that were tiny and very dried out, the rest of the plants look great and healthy. True, the shipping price was way too high but I guess if I win a plant for $0.99, and calculate the average price adding this plant price to the shipping, I still have no reason to complain However if I could get only a few small plants , I maybe upset with the price of shipping. All in all I am happy with this purchase.

When I saw two leptodermis on their eBay site going for under $2 each this September, I couldn't resist, even though I had just gotten two others from another supplier. They arrived in just 3 days, were well packed and a decent size. They were not as well leafed out as the other source and show no blossoms yet (4 days later) as the others did, but appear to be growing well. If they make it through the winter, I think they will be a bargain. They also gave a shipping discount for buying two at once.

I purchased a Lime Zinger Taro. It arrived yesterday. The plant was poorly packaged. No plastic bag around the 3 inch pot to keep the soil moist. It had one dead leaf. I have e-mailed Perfect Plant with pictures of what I recieved and asked them how they plan to rectify this? I have purchased many plants on line in the last month and all arrived as advertised in great shape. This plant was clearly knocking on deaths door BEFORE they shipped it to me. In all fairness if they respond and refund my money OR actually ship a live plant as advertised I will adjust my rating. If I had checked here 1st I would not have purchased from them :(

Well, duped again by Park's/Wayside Gardens! I didn't know this was part of Park's until I went to pay for my eBay purchases and by then it was too late. Had I known, I wouldn't even have considered buying anything from them. I ordered a red mandevilla that was in a 4" pot. I also ordered 2 clematis, one was bareroot and the other was in a 3" pot. I pretty much knew what to expect when the box arrived since I've bought from Wayside before. This was even worse. The mandevilla was so tiny I could barely find it. It's now DEAD in the pot. The bareroot clematis was so old that it was crispy and crumbled.....DEAD. The other clematis was a sprig and yellow....DEAD. What really got me was two weeks later I was at Lowe's and they had the mandevilla in a gallon pot for $5.47. I also bought a Jackmanni clematis from Lowe's for $9.49 in a 2 gallon pot, both of which were far less than I was sent and they are thriving. I did not write Perfect Plant because they only give merchandise credit and you pay the postage to have the items replaced. The shipping is more than what I paid for the plants from Lowe's. I did write that Jay Johnson person that has been responding to every negative comment on Park's and Wayside. He basically blew me off and said he hoped I would reconsider being a "valued customer" after all these years. No offer of a refund was extended and he did not address the fact the plants were junk. I was also going to leave negative feedback on eBay, but Perfect Plant leaves retaliatory feedback even if you leave them a neutral and I did not want my 100% positive feedback to be tarnished. People leave them positive feedback just because they received the merchandise, dead or not or I assume they've never bought a healthy plant that lives. PayPal was of no help saying the plants were sent. I disputed the charges with American Express and sent them pictures of the plants. I got my account credited and I don't know if Park's/Wayside/Perfect Plant or PayPal ate it, and I don't care. At least you know that if you order plants from places like Direct Gardening or Burgess that you're going to receive dead plants, but for Park's/Wayside/Perfect Plant which was once a top of the line reputable nursery to send total junk at the prices they charge, they will go out of business soon.

On May 22nd, 2007, chunx added the following: Thanks, Perfect Plant for calling me liar in your response. I wrote Jay Johnson directly about the poor quality of the plants and the way Park's has gone from a great company to a company that is failing miserably. He responded to my email and not through this site. Next you say you're not part of Park's or Wayside. That's really odd since my payment through PayPal said Park Seed Company. I also find it very strange that your eBay store has a word for word description of your company that is EXACTLY the same as Park's including when founded and the guarantee. And yes, I did contact Perfect Plant and I was told that I would have to pay the outrageous shipping to get replacements. Why would I want more defective plants from Wayside/Park's and pay so much for shipping? Had I left you negative feedback, you would have done the same to me. Your company even leaves negative feedback to people that have given you a neutral. That stinks just like your tiny and usually deader than a doornail plants. At least this site gives people their real views on your junk from real gardners, people that have grown plants for years. I don't expect you to understand that and see that Wayside now has a negative rating (and well deserved) whereas it was a reputable supplier two years ago. Something is wrong there with the operation. Park's is also headed in the same direction per their ratings. At least you can't dispute that. As for your statement that you're not part of Park's/Wayside, that's just an out and out lie. My plants were shipped from their hometown and the payment went to Park's.

I'm so upset with these people, I could spit. I ordered three roses from their ebay store... one seems to be doing fine, another has been in the ground two weeks and shows no signs of life, and the third never arrived. I've sent them numerous emails with no response. At my wits end, I've opened a dispute of purchase case through PayPal. They have a 99% + rating on ebay so I'm surprised they have not responded with a satisfactory to solution to this problem, but I guess they do such a large volume of business that when things go wrong, they feel they can afford to lose one customer. And they just did.

On May 22nd, 2007, Peachykeen changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: I'm choking on humble pie today. It was my fault that I didn't receive the emails that Perfect Plant sent me. It seems Yahoo is indiscriminately downloading only a select few emails to Outlook Express. It's crazy... but this is what I found out today. I use Outlook Express to view my email, Yahoo downloads it to me daily except when it decides an email may be spam (even though I've received emails from a known email address (ones they've downloaded before)). Apparently Yahoo sends some of these suspect emails to the bulk folder on the Yahoo server and doesn't download them to my Outlook Express. I wondered if this might be the problem so I went to the Yahoo website and checked my bulk mail folder and sure enough all of the emails Perfect Plant sent me regarding the Julia Child rose were there. That doesn't explain why Yahoo downloaded the one they sent yesterday and all the others that I DID receive confirming my purchase of the roses, guess that's a mystery only cyber geeks can figure out. Anyway I'm going to give them another try because they did nothing wrong. One of the roses I ordered was deemed not suitable to ship -- that was the email I didn't receive until yesterday notifying me that I could chose another rose from their collection to replace it. Another rose I received and planted is looking dead (I didn't notify Perfect Plant of this because at the time I was too angry and thought it would be a waste of time since I thought they hadn't responded to my previous emails to them) -- they have agreed to replace this rose also. And the third rose I received and planted is thriving with buds. As of today, Perfect Plant deserves a positive rating -- they have done everything they could to resolve this situation and if they keep their word, they'll have a happy customer that will purchase from them again.

I ordered five roses, two bareroot and three in pots, two clematis, and two hydrangeas. They arrived quickly and were well packed. The two clematis and one of the bareroot roses failed to thrive. All others were doing beautifully. I notified the company. Immediately received an email from them that replacements were on the way. The replacements arrived FedEx two days later. They are doing fine. Customer service like this is hard to find. Highly recommend this company. When there is a problem, how the company handles it is the real test.

I have purchased twice from this ebay store and the plants have been completely satisfactory and shipment prompt. I suspect they are related to Park Seeds, as when I've paid via paypal, the addressee shows as ParkSeeds; however, not absolutely sure.
