Have purchased from Donna for 4 years now - her seeds have been true to description with excellent germination rates & generous amounts for her prices. very reasonable mailing costs & good packaging. I will continue to purchase from her & hope she can continue with some of the MD & VA varieties like Scarab that Mr. Wyatt discovered & named.

I have been purchasing seed from Chuck ( when he was still with us ) and Donna recently, and I am always well pleased with the seeds I buy from Heirloom Tomatoes. I have e-mailed them a couple of times for advice, and they were very helpful and prompt to answer my questions. Great place to purchase your next pack of excellent seeds. I Highly recommend buying seeds from Heirloom Tomatoes.

Wonderful selection of tomato seeds. I received my order in a very timely manner - well packaged and seed packets are well marked. Amazing selection of heirlooms! I am a very satisfied customer and will do business with this vendor again.

Donna was a delight to deal with. My initial product inquiry via e-mail was answered promptly and very courteously. I sent off my check with an order and within 2 days had a reply that my seeds were in the mail. Shipping was well within what you'd expect ($3.00 flat rate). Start to finish, no more than 5 days had elapsed. Soooo, you can order with confidence here. I'll let you know what kind of germination rate(s) I get from the seeds, but so far I'm very pleased. A+ rating Donna!!

I placed an order in the spring. Service was very good and the germination was good. A good place to buy varieties that are hard to find. JD

I ordered several varieties from this web site and was happy with the service I received. I ordered hard to find varieties and found the site's decriptions were usually similiar to my results. The Opalka tomato was not as expected, but I notified the company and received a credit for a future order.

I ordered quite a few varieties from Donna's Heirloom Tomatoes in 2004. I didn't plant any of them until January of 2005. I planted 10 varieties and had excellent germination. However, out of the 10 varieties I planted, four were obviously crossed. I had both RL and PL foliage present in those four varieties. I contacted Donna, and she was VERY apologetic and offered to replace the seeds immediately. She assured me that after Mr. Wyatt passed away that she was in contact with heirloom tomato experts that warned her about some crossed varieties that Mr. Wyatt had in his possession when he died. She discarded them immediately and sought out other sources for seeds. Today, she obtains all of her seeds from Seed Savers Exchange and Tomato Growers Supply which are two VERY highly regarded sources. Unfortunately, crossing happens. Unless blossoms are bagged no one can guarantee 100% seed purity. Seed companies are at the mercy of seed savers and depend on them to save seeds properly. I do appreciate Donna's honesty and her offer to replace my crossed seeds. Because of her integrity, I will order from her again. If my replaced seeds turn out to be the variety I ordered (and not crossed), I will change my rating to a positive one.

Ordered seeds from Dona's Heirloom Tomatoes and they were mailed out in less than a week. I was very satisfied! Donna was extremely responsive and even sent me a follow up email to let me know the day of shipping with a list of my order.

Living in Greece, I ordered 17 hard-to-find heirloom varieties . They all arrived impressively fast and in good condition. A very good experience with Dona's Heirloom Tomatoes.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Chuck Wyatt. I had ordered seeds from him several times and had no problems with the orders. I don't know how he managed his business but I had the feeling that he was doing it as simply as he could pretty much by himself. The number of tomato varieties that he offered had to be a daunting task to keep track of. The seeds that I recieved from him were packaged and labled well. The seed themselves looked very good and I had excellent germination rates, almost 100%. In tribute to Heirloom and open pollinated tomato varieties, I am in the process of developing a web site with pictues and descriptions of the ones that I have grown. www.angelfire.com/ma4/tomatoes/home.htm

I live in Australia and the seeds I ordered from Donna's site(and paid for already by credit card) are currently detained in quarantine. I specifically asked before purchasing the seeds whether there would be any problem and I was told NO PROBLEM. I purchased these seeds for a Xmas present and as my Aussie Dollar isn't worth much at present I actually paid about double for them. I have sent about 5 or 6 emails and have heard nothing back.

On November 7th, 2002, SkyBeetle2 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: I have had a response since my first posting from both Donna and go_vols which has enabled the seeds to pass inspection. A huge THANKYOU to all involved for making this possible. I look forward to seeing these amazing tomatoes when they grow!

I ordered seeds from him early last December. I never heard from him nor received the seeds for ten weeks. During that time I sent two enquiry e-mails and got no response. When I finally threatened to go after him for fraud I got an immediate response which was defensive and not at all apologetic nor nice. He said he did not want to do any more business with me but would send the seeds. I declined as I had already sequired seeds elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with the seeds...once they finally got here. On his site he says to expect about a 17 day wait from the time you send your order until the time you receive your 'mater seeds. My order took possibly 3 times his estimate. Still, if you read the introduction on his web site, you will get the sense that he is not your typical businessman. I'll order from him next year again, mostly because of his vast selection and good prices, but I'll just order a little earlier.

This winter I ordered many packs of seed of which one was ”Brandywine Red” tomato seed from Chuck Wyatt’s Heirloom Tomatoes. The seeds he advertised were to be a completely different variety (from the pink) with regular leaves. After germinating a couple of seeds, I noticed that the real leaves were that of the potato leaf version not the regular version as advertised. One could only take this as false advertising or a mistake was made fulfilling the order. I had to emailed Mr. Wyatt five days in a row (due to a lack of response) to bring this to his attention and ask if it’s possible to get replacement seeds? His finally responded, By saying “DON’T WRITE ANYMORE”! Keep in mind we’re talking about an item that only cost me $1.50. His cost must be pennies plus postage. I have since returned the seeds to Mr. Wyatt explaining that I already have grown that strain and was looking for the advertised version. It’s been four weeks and still no contact from Chuck Wyatt’s Heirloom Tomatoes. Due to this abhorrent, deceptive and careless business attitude, I will never order from Chuck Wyatt’s Heirloom Tomatoes again!

On May 7th, 2002, greenpants changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: On April 23rd, 2002 I wrote a negative report on Chuck Wyatt’s Heirloom Tomatoes. It is now May 7th and after six weeks I just received the Brandywine Red Seeds I sent back to Mr. Wyatt Along with my letter. Mr. Wyatt was kind enough to send four different strains of Brandywine Tomato seeds as replacements. I’m grateful he sent the seeds and made good on this transaction. Unfortunately, I’ll have to look forward to growing these seeds next year. The question that now bugs me is whether I would order from Chuck Wyatt again? Ah!, Mr.Greenpants is a softy, and I’ll probably give him my order again next year. Mr. Chuck Wyatt is strange fellow, but he showed me something today, it’s called integrity.

I ordered from Chuck this year for the first time. I became concerned after placing the order in early January, seeing the money charged to my credit card shortly thereafter, and seeing neither hide nor hair of my seeds for a long period of time (6 weeks?). The seeds did, however, arrive in time to plant them in the greenhouse and I am pleased to report that the germination rate has been excellent; almost 100%.

I ordered tomato seed from Chuck Wyatt's Heirloom Tomatoes in early March 2002. My credit card was billed immediately but I never received the seeds. After one month, I sent several e-mails and never heard back. I then called and was chewed out by Mr. Wyatt for bugging him. I doubt I'll ever receive the seeds I ordered.

I have been ordering for 4 or 5 years now from the incredible selection of open pollinated tomatoes offered. The seeds (and the firm) have been reliable enough that Wyatt has been my sole source for tomato seed the last 2 years. Chuck Wyatt was a regular participant in a gardening forum that I participated in years ago and I respected his knowledge and well reasoned opinions. I have the highest regard for the quality of the seeds and the timeliness of delivery. The variety descriptions offered are (in my experience) both accurate and helpful. This may be my favorite seed house.

Chuck does list an extensive selection of heirloom tomatoes to purchase from, but there seems to be some difficulty in receiving the seeds in a timely manner. I ordered seeds on-line from his website on January 9, 2002 and have yet to receive any seeds (its March 18th now.) After having cruised the web to see if perhaps this was just my problem, I was saddened to find several references to other people having the same problem. He sells varieties that are worth the wait, but I am about to miss my planting season. Other purchasers should be aware of this possibility.

Chuck Wyatt sells zillions of varieties of tomatoes on his site at //www.heirloomtomatoes.net. Good prices, great seed, and outstanding selection. From the obscure to the common, Chuck really has it all. Definite thumbs up.

Their selection is immense, their comments seem knowledgeable and honest, and they organize present list ordered in several different ways (color, heat tolerance, etc.). We ordered a fair bit from them this year, but for the first time so we have no feedback yet except that the order was timely and correctly filled (and prices are quite reasonable.)

This may not be the largest offering of open pollinated and heirloom tomatoes in the world, it IS the biggest selection I have found on the web. This is clearly a mom and pop operation, no fancy four color seed packets, just variety with few frills. My order had a four-week turnaround from order to delivery. I am content with the size of my order and speed of turn around.
