I ordered several antique roses from them. They arrived well packaged and on time. They were all nice sized bare root plants. They should do well in the garden this year.

Went over to pick up a few potted rose bush's. They had a nice little selection. One of the bush's had a rose that bloomed and was fragarent (a great suprise!) and so far they seem to be doing well in the heat. Keeping my fingers crossed that they flourish!

I received my order yesterday and the roses looked healthy and ready to go! Communication was great and they coordinated with me when a substitution was required making suggestions that tied into the original rose. I can't wait to see the blooms! Thanks, Lynda

As usual, I did my bareroot shopping late and my usual sources had sold out of the varieties I wanted. After Googling through many rose sources, I found RYT. They were out of one of the ones I wanted so I ended up going with a substitute. However, they had Stainless Steel which was the one I most wanted and couldn't find here. The roses arrived in a reasonable time (given they ship once a week). I couldn't plant them immediately so I followed the nursery's directions on how to store them. I also followed the nursery's printed directions when I planted them and everything seems to have turned out okay despite my beginning garden skills. My order had a hiccup because of a credit card company screw-up and RYT was very understanding and put the order through again after I'd talked to the company (and without making me feel like a lowlife simply because my card had come back "declined"). Good experience. My only suggestion for improvement would be to put the printed directions in a clear envelope taped to the shipping box. That way one can find out how to store what one cannot immediately plant without having to disturb the plants in their packaging.

Ah- what a treat this company is! I live in Gilroy, CA and so am lucky enough to have visited Roses of Yesterday and Today a year or so ago! I purchased 2 potted roses from them- an Honorine de Brabant and David Austin's The Squire. They are just lovely! I would highly recommend to anyone! They have a wonderful selection of roses- including many of the old garden treasures that have become harder to find in recent years.

It was some 30-plus years ago when I first ordered a catalog from what was then Tillotson's Roses of Yesterday and Today. My mother vetoed any purchases then (I was 14), but I fell in love with old roses as soon as I began to read that catalog. Fast forward about 14 years, and I would drive up to Watsonville from Monterey every so often to visit the rose garden and unwind. I feared that Roses of Yesterday and Today had become only a memory, so I am happy to see that they are still in business. Now if only I had room for more roses....

I've never bought anything from them, but if you love antique roses and are in the Santa Cruz area in May, you owe it to yourself to visit their gorgeous garden in its full glory! It's free, and you can wander around to your heart's content.
