I have experience with three types of vertical growing systems. My favorite is the EZgro system. The kits they send you are complete with all necessary parts plus grow mix. The pots mount on standard 3/4" electrical conduit supplied with the kits and cut to size. The pots are hard plastic and UV protected. The most important part of a vertical growing system is probably the grow mix. EZgro pre-mixes their grow mix and it is about 75% perlite and 25% vermiculite. It is just about impossible to overwater this mix. The hydroponic type of fertilizer sent with the kit is easily mixed and used. Just pour the water/vertilizer mix into the top pot and it filters down through the lower pots. It is a drip-to-waste system as received but I have devised a simple system to catch the overflow and use it to fertilize other plants. I have never had any problems with the EZgro components which have been in use for three years. The company has always been very prompt and responsive. I can highly recommend the system and recommend you start with either the 3 pot economy system or the original 5 pot system. Once you get familiar with the system, you can expand by just purchasing extra pots ($5.95 each) and cut your own lengths of 3/4 inch conduit for mounting and mix your own grow mix and save some money. The pots are very solid and should last many, many years.
