Warning: Do not do business with this company!!! I wish I had done more research before ordering. I love roses & we have many bushes on our property. Last fall I wanted to add more yellows & searched & found Merry Grow, they were in Eustis, not far from me in Georgia & what I saw I liked. The order was a little slow, surprisingly, but the roses arrived healthy, albeit small. We planted as instructed & when instructed & all seemed well untill a few weeks ago when 3 appeared to start dying. They are near other roses that are fine, so I turned to the company for help...only, there appears to not be any company!!! Their web page is gone, replaced by a login prompt for the page...thats it, just a login. and the phone number no longer works...GONE! They are most likely out of business, and it seems poor cust service was a major player in their demise. My advice to you would be to thoroughly research a company before doing business with, especiall online. Making sure theyve been around for a while would be a good indication the'll be there in the future. Then see what the customers have to say.

On May 14th, 2008, stricksw added the following: Update: 051408 I have 3 dying roses, that are Jackson & Perkins...it's why I looked back to Merry Gro & found them out of business. The flower growers(ie Jackson & Perkins) do not honor warranties for 3rd party companies like Merry Gro, so if you bought something from Merry Gro & there is supposed to be a warranty...you dont have anything.

Their local phone number is no longer working. The on-line service has problems. You can get an agent through their 888 online phone number but you can not speak with anyone in the company to get information on your order. My credit card has been charged but there is no information on the order and when it will, if ever, be shipped. The CS response is lacking and I would not reccommend this company.

I ordered nine roses from this company less than a week ago. The day they shipped, I got an email from the company stating that one of my choices was out-of-stock and that my credit card had been refunded for the price of that rose. The other eight roses shipped July 3rd and arrived July 5th. The roses were well-packaged and didn't appear to be stressed from the shipping ordeal (granted, they didn't have far to go - Florida to South Carolina). Several have buds. I was nervous about ordering from MerryGro after reading the several negative comments left here, but I must say I have been pleased with the service and the product. At this point, I would order from them again.

I just received my second order from MerryGro and am very pleased. I was able to ask for a later shipment date for arrival on a Friday. Both packages were put together very well. Each came in their own plastic pot should there be a delay in planting. All of them were about a foot high and full of leaves. Some with opening buds! I went with them since I was disgusted with other roses that died shortly after planting due to them not handling Florida weather. After much research, I decided to find a company that dealt with Fortuniana stock. It was this one or Cool Roses. I would have opted for Cool Roses, but they didn't have enough selection on their website. However, I am not disappointed with MerryGro so far. The 1st 4 plants received a month ago are flourishing and budding well. I am using a blend of sandy soil, top soil, peat moss, mushroom compost, Ostracite and Epson Salts. This was recommended by the local Rose Society. Light fertilizing every other week seems to be helping too.

There was a problem with my delivery and I was unable to talk top a live person, except for someone in sales whose sole purpose was to take orders. I could only send an email and receive a notice that someone would get back to me in 72 hours. Do not order from this company unless you can tolerate no customer service.

Purchased 12 Knockout Roses for Charlotte, NC! Roses were packed very well! During planting, I noticed that 3 had a tag identifying as FL Rootstock only! Needless to say, these 3 died off, while the remainder flourished! Sent a request to CS via email on website! Five responses that stated that theydid not have enough information to respond! Called Customer Service! Lady was very helpful and said that she would address issue immediately! Two days later, 3 replacement Knockout Roses arrived! They were great! Sometimes companies need to attempt to make a Trial Contact through their website response system in order to identify problems! Otherwise, People get Frustrated and will not go back! Overall, excluding the Internet CS, I am extremely pleased!

Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible. The worse customer service I have had from all the rose vendors I have bought from in the past. Through the past two years, I have spend THOUSANDS of dollars monthly on roses. You can read my reviews for other companies and see that this is my first negative on any rose vendor. I decided to try them during their closeout special and spend 130.00 dollars on roses. The whole transaction was done and completed on November 17. i kept checking for an updated status and it never showed that anything was being done with the order. Usually it would have stated what the status was and this would allow you to plan your gardening accordingly. After 10 days, I saw my status was still unchanged and the plants hadn't even been pulled yet, so I called. I was assured that someone would call me back. Okay nothing no call back. I called again the next day accompanied by an email, and again, I was told someone would call me back and again....no call...no email..nothing. This morning again I checked the status to see if my roses had at least been pulled to ship out and the status hadn't changed yet. So I called again and was told the same old story.."someone will call you right back"..You guessed it..NO CALL BACK AGAIN. Now I had a massive order in my "cart", close to 200 dollars but I wanted to wait till I knew that I would receive the first order. Now I see, that the special prices are gone, my cart cleared out and I still have no roses or not even a call back on my order. As someone else posted, they need a real customer service department that can answer calls on the spot. None of this call back deal. It just leaves me very frustrated. I will change my feedback if my issues are solved. I think at this point I am going to cancel my order. Marta Acaba Tampa Florida

On November 30th, 2006, BeeVee added the following: Again, I am waiting for that "phone call" or an email. Still nothing and still no customer service available. I still get the "someone will call you right back because the order should have been pulled through by now". Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard that before..7 times now???? Sent email number 3...nothing back from them.
On December 4th, 2006, BeeVee added the following: Update: Nothing back from them. I've already placed numerous calls since my last posting and now I told the call service rep to let them know that if I do not hear back from them within the hour, I will call BBB and just go ahead and have Visa reverse my charge. Take this as a warning: DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. They might have been a good vendor before, but now since I believe the business is up for sale, they are just not caring what they are doing. They have even locked up their message boards so one can not address any issues. This is a terrible way to run a business. My 130 dollars worth of roses will not be able to get planted by my landscaper, who arrived today to get these roses planted. A mess...take my warning about this company.

Ordered three Melody Parfumee on Sunday and recieved them on Tuesday. They arrived descent looking (two barely had any leaves). Just found out that the company is on the auction block. Should be interesting to see if they continue to opporate as before and if they are going to address the customer service issues stated before.

I got home last night and found a package with two healthy roses that are in bloom. However, I ordered those plants almost two months ago. Now I have plants that I can't really plant outside or they will go into severe shock from the hard frosts we have been getting (Zone 4). I don't know what to do with them since I have no place in the house where they could get sunshine, and I have no sheltered spots to place them. Sleet/freezing rain is expected this weekend, along with 50 MPH winds, so even if I wanted to plant them I couldn't. By next weekend, we will probably have snow cover. Hardening them off before planting is not practical for a variety of reasons, so I am in a bind. As I stated, the plants arrived in beautiful condition - I just wish the shipment could have been made in a reasonable amount of time (or delayed until next spring if need be).

Ordering and delivery time outstanding. Packing was the best I have encounterd for flowers. Most important, the Roses themselves were healthy, sizeable and would highly recommend this company.

I placed an order for 5 shrub roses at Merry Gro Farms and then called about an hour later and tried to add on to it to save shipping. Understandably that was not possible. I was very willing to pay the additional charge for a separate order. No problem so far. But some insane reason someone in their company decided to cancel one of my 2 orders without my knowledge or consent. It just never came. I kept calling and asking where my order was, asking someone to please call me and finally someone emailed me that they canceled that order. No one ever called. There is no one to ask to speak to even. The only number you ever have is for a call center. I finally re-ordered the 5 roses I am so desperate to receive under the stipulation with the order center that they would pay for the faster shipping since they delay was their mistake. Again I asked for confirmation that the company would do so and said I would not be responsible for the additional shipping and no calls or responses again from customer service. The worst part is that they have billed my credit card $80 shipping on 5 little roses and will not cancel it or address the problem.I have even written to their forum begging for help and no one will respond. All that is available is a call center person and that is it. They have no resourcses at all available to their customers and can only pass messages on that are never answered. It is a nightmare doing business with Merry Gro Farms because there is absolutely no customer support. This is just unbelievable.

Although their selection is somewhat generic and their shipping prices can be a little on the expensive side, this company knows what they're doing. I have never seen packing like theirs before: It is perfect. Truly a model for other shipping companies. The plants are perfectly wrapped in breathable plastic. The soil is covered in a thick layer of moist moss to keep the plant well hydrated during travel and the box and pot are desiged to meld together such that the box can be turned any way without damaging the plant. Their plants are also extremely healthy and large. Mine arrived fully leafed out, with several buds. I will definitely consider ordering from them again. One point of confusion: The website said my plant was budded on fortuniania root stock, but the packing label said the plant was a "New Generation" rose, which in Jackson and Perkins terms means the rose is growing on its own root. I wasn't sure what to make of this, but I'm not a Southern Gardener so the root stock didn't matter all that much to me.

I ordered from Merry Gro based on the other comments here. I have ordered from many other websites. I was never as surprised as when I received this shipment. Outstanding quality roses super well packaged. I will never buy roses from any other supplier again!

On August 30th, 2006, bulldglit added the following: My roses are doing wonderful here in West Palm even through the long humid summer. Not a bit of black spot or other disease on any of them. After all these years, I finally have a rose garden. They bloom continuously! Since I have no more room in the ground so I am doing pots now. If you live in Florida, forget the stores, buy from MerryGro which is in Eustis Florida. You will not be sorry

Amazing service. President Andre responded to each and every email. All plants arrived in perfect condition. I have purchased over a dozen rose bushes - specifically fortuniana rootstock for zone 11 - I purchased mostly hybrid teas and a few floribundas. Packaging was superb. Found website video clip informative regarding Fortuniana rootstock. Highly recommended.

I love the 2 cannas and 3 rosebushes I ordered from Merrygro. They arrived in excellent condition and have been growing very well. Will definitely order more.

On October 4th, 2005, admodeva added the following: I wanted to add that the Disneyland rose I got from them has been the star in my garden this summer. I expect to wait a few years before a rosebush will really shine but not so with this one. Also this company has the absolute best packaging, no soggy newpapers or soil flying around with this place.

I ordered 6 Flower Carpet "Apple Blossom" roses from this company. I received large (as large as I would get at my local nursery), healthy, beautiful rose bushes. One of the best packing jobs I've seen and I've ordered from many online nurseries. Great price, too. Will definitely shop here again!

Just received 3 fantastic Rose's "Radiant Perfume", "Aromatherapy", and "Honey Perfume". I don't know who they hired to pack these but I would like to hire them for my company. The Roses are fantastic. Will do much more business with this company.
