Great quality conifers, well grown, established plants that you can tell were grown in good light. Great communicators - Mark is awesome. Five Stars!

Originally ordered mid-summer, just before the heat made transport to the east coast too risky. Mark emailed and advised it best to wait until early fall. Received the tree this weekend and it is one of the most beautiful trees I've ever seen (the branching is so gorgeous). It arrived in the best condition of any tree I've ordered online (and have ordered probably too many from across the country this past year, though we do try to limit the travel distance). We're extremely impressed with Bloom River. Since this was our first order with them, I was a bit apprehensive about the wait, but I trusted the Dave's Garden reviews and definitely not disappointed!

I’ve ordered a variety of excellent rhododendrons from Bloom River over the past few years. I tend to order smaller plants and their smaller sizes have been generous and healthy. All my plants I’ve ever received were well packaged. Quality plants from a quality nursery.

An extremely LARGE AND FULL at 5 feet and 2 1/2 feet across - Corylopsis spicata (Winter Hazel) - this thing was huge and worth every penny! Shipping was extremely reasonable $35 for a plant that was $175, of this size, and the plant was in excellent condition. I got it out of the pot and into the ground and it is thriving. It seems thrilled to be here, is the only way I can describe it. Very happy and would order from them again and they are very personable and can be reached by phone easily.

I ordered two 'Bean Pole' yews, and they arrived in great condition and in a timely manner. I would purchase from Bloom River again.

I purchased now twice and both times was amazed of the beautiful healthy trees, much larger than expected (the last tree I purchased was supposed to be between 24" and 36" and was 51" and the tree is a semi dwarf slow growing conifer) at a very honest price. Shipping is always very economical, fast and very well packed, customer service is excellent with Mark taking the time to email photos of the tree he'll ship. It is as good as it gets, I'll always check with Bloom River Garden before purchasing else where when looking for one of my rare conifers. I just emailed Mark today inquiring about 2 more trees that I would like to purchase.

Posted on May 16, 2011, updated April 4, 2014 Overall, they are EXCELLENT. My friend and I placed an order for 7 Rhododendrons. They were shipped promptly, and I was impressed by the careful packaging and the quality of the plants. They were healthy and of good size. I would order from them again.

On April 4th, 2014, iykim added the following: I placed another order for a couple of more rhododendrons. Again, I was not disappointed. They arrive looking much bigger than I expected, and really healthy-looking. One rhododendron had many flower buds ready to blossom. Definitely a great place to purchase uncommon rhododendrons.

I have just completed an extensive order of hemlocks, japanese maples, dwarf hollies and ferns. Quality is the highest of any mail order company I have ever dealt with - large, extremely healthy plants. Packing is very well done, absolutely no damage even though these were all large and in some cases fragile shrubs, sent from Oregon to New York. Mark Bloom and his wife are both extraordinarily pleasant to deal with on the phone, freely giving extensive advice on plant selection and keeping me up to date on order progress. Mark obtains plants that are not on his website upon request, from other sources. His prices are reasonable. He is conscientious in what he supplies, on several occasions declining to ship something after he unpotted it for delivery, saying rootball was not in top shape. I cannot say enough good things and fully intend to continue shopping from Mark.

This is a first class organization. I have been dealing with them for a number of years and have always been satisfied with the product that I receive. Additionally, they have provided very good advice and other customer service.

It seems redundant to post yet another positive comment, but Bloom River really deserves it. I've ordered two hard-to-find evergreens, one last season and one this. Both were good-sized, beautiful plants and were packed meticulously. Both times I was contacted about a shipping issue, and the people were really pleasant. Last year's plant came through the winter with flying colors. The company has lots of interesting offerings. Highly recommended!

I placed an order for a Cedrus libani var. Stenacoma and it was scheduled for delivery the next week on a Monday giving it time to get out before the weekend. I was impressed how quickly everything was done and how well it was packed. The plant was beautiful and of good size! I would definitely order again.

This was my first experience ordering a tree by mail. After placing the order, I worried about the problems I would be facing if the tree didn't arrive in good condition. Bloom River Gardens convinced me that buying a tree by mail that I couldn't get locally is a good thing. They waited for the appropriate weather before shipping, advised me when the tree was shipped with a tracking number, and the packing was great. The tree arrived healthy and happy and met my expectations. I would highly recommend this company.

I ordered a 3-4 year Wisteria floribunda "Lawrence" and was very pleased with the plant that I received. It was very healthy and larger than I expected. The packaging was done very well and the plant did not appear to have any damage due to shipping. I also ordered the plant a couple of months prior to wanting it delivered and they shipped it exactly when I originally requested. Overall, my experience with Bloom River Gardens has been great and I would highly recommend them.

I ordered a Kentucky Blue Moon wisteria from Bloom River this spring. They sent a real healthy plant that was packed very well and got it to me in real good time. I'm pleased with my first experience with them and will definitely use them again. I planted my wisteria a week ago and it's growing already.

I decided to order daylilies from Bloom River Garden's because they had really great prices as well as great reviews on Dave's Garden already. I ordered two "Best of Friends" that I had planned to buy, then while on their website, I also decided to purchase two "Metaphor" daylilies because of the great info that they have on their website. These would be my first daylilies since I am new to gardening. They arrived in a great package that was moist and looked like they had been kept safe during shipment. When I examined the daylilies the "Best of Friends" looked biggest, and one of the "Metaphor" daylilies didn't have any green on top but I planted them all regardless. After a few weeks the one weaker looking "Metaphor" had not grown so I called up Val from Bloom River Gardens and was told that if I gave it one more week and it still did not grow, that they would send me another "Metaphor" right away. My new "Metaphor" was shipped today Priority Mail, and I'm looking forward to many beautiful blooms soon!

Top notch specialty nursery with some nice collectible conifers. Their web site is easily navigated and ordering is straight forward. My orders have arrived on time, well packaged, and match the online description . Email communication was personable and promplt. I plan on returning frequently to see what's new.

I ordered a rare, Japanese Maple from them last spring, which Fed Ex lost for 6 days in the heat of late May. The owner was very patient and kind to me, and reassured me that if the tree did finally show up, and the root ball was still wet, it probably would survive. It finally did show up, was much larger than I expected, twice the side of other Japanese Maples I'd received from other mail order companies. It was very sad looking - all the leaves were brown and shriveled. I planted it immediately, which the owner of Bloom River had advised me to do, and it did survive. It's my favorite plant in my garden - rare, and beautiful.

I recently purchased a 'Van den Akker' Chamaecyparis nootkatensis (Weeping Alaskan Cedar) from Bloom River Gardens. Their web site was easy to use and pricing, including shipping costs, were clearly spelled. The owners even e-mailed and called me to ask about my preferred delivery method and date. The tree, which was about 2-1/2 feet tall, arrived on time, in excellent condition, and exactly as described online. It was a very nice looking and healthy speciman. I was particularly impressed at how well the folks at Bloom River secured and packaged my tree. Nice job! I would definitely recommend Bloom River Gardens to anyone.

Wow! This was my first impression as I unpacked the plants I had ordered. They were large and healthy and very securely packed - among the very best I have ever received. I placed my order on Monday and they both emailed me and called to ask if I would like the plants sent that day. This is clearly a first class nursery in every way. I recommend them highly.

Plants were very nice, the nicest that I've gotten online, nicely packed also, sent quickly. Other sources have given me plants that have obviously sat around for a long while, but Bloomriver sent more ones I would pick out if I had a choice so I was impressed.

I ordered a Japanese Maple tree from Bloom River Gardens, and received a beautiful, large specimen. Because of the size of the tree, the shipping was almost half the cost of the tree, but it was extremely well packaged and worth the cost. There was no damage whatsoever, which was surprising due to it's size. Mark and Val, the owners, are extremely pleasant people to deal with, and very customer oriented. I defintely will order from them again in the future.

I ordered four Wisteria Vines from Bloom River Gardens and have never been more pleased with a plant order.I got a email confirming my order and emailed them back with a shipping request and what not and they actually picked up the phone and called me!! They are WONDERFUL! The Plants arrived today, and needless to say they are beautiful! Large four foot vines that have all of their leaves and are very green and healthy! I honestly cant tell that these plants just went through three or four days of shipping(with Fed Ex). I am very please with this company and will be doing more business with them in the future! I will also be recomending them to all of my gardening friends!

i recently ordered 2 conifers from bloomriver. shipping was speedy and the company contacted me twice to coordinate delivery. plants appear to be well grown and at least twice the size of the plants that i thought i would be receiving. considering that these were dwarf conifers that are very slow growing, i consider the plants that i received to be of an exceptional value. my first experience with them has been a pleasure and i look forward to ordering from them again.

Bloom River gives service that's personal and personable, timely and complete. I ordered two pieris with some trepidation, asking them to ship almost coast-to-coast. The plants arrived on time carefully packed, very much intact, at the size promised...and in beautiful condition. If you email a question or comment, you get a timely, in-person response. Truly nice place.

I received my order from this company recently and was extremly pleased when I opened the package--a beautiful, well-packaged plant. I was even more impressed with the communications I received from this company. I received personal e-mails confirming a fall shipment (I ordered during the summer), and again a week before shipment. You can tell they care about their plants and customers! I would most definitely recommend them!
