I placed two seed orders almost back to back for many different Eucalyptus seeds, and both orders arrived in a timely manner and very well packaged. I am delighted to have found such a source for so many hard to find Eucalypti. It's only been a few weeks and already I have some baby Eucalyptus plants from the seeds. I had done a lot of research to select just the perfect eucalyptuses for my situation only to realize that next to no one sold the varieties I had chosen. Suffice it to say that I was thrilled to have come across the Australia Plants website and see that they offered an incredible variety of eucalyptuses. It was a delight to be able to order hard to find seeds in a way that was far easier and more convenient than the seed banks I had been looking at. The order arrived very quickly and while two of the varieties are still stratifying, the one that I have started has had excellent germination and the seedlings are growing well. I can’t wait to start the other varieties and once these ones get growing out in the garden I’ll absolutely be trying other varieties from Australia Plants.

I wanted an evergreen, privacy hedge here in zone 7a but wanted to find something not so ordinary. I spent some time at Australia Plant's web site and narrowed my choices to a couple of hearty Eucalyptus. Other sites had indicated these would survive our infrequent freezes. I emailed asking which of the two plants would be most suitable. Mike responded within a couple of hours. It was clear he had carefully read my email and considered my plan (something many companies don't seem to bother with). He said, based on his experience, neither Eucalyptus would please me. He did recommend a couple of other varities but said he didn't currently stock them. Then, as icing on the cake, he recommended a couple of other trees I might like - neither of which he sells. Quick response. Honest answer. Didn't try to sell me something that wouldn't satisfy my needs. Highly recommended!

I Ordered some "baby blue" Eucalyptus seeds from Australiaplants.com. The service was prompt and he also quickly followed up an e-mail I sent him.. The seeds germinated quickly and are doing great!! I had a friend in Nashville TN who was looking for a particular Australian eucalyptus tree that we didn't know the name of, only a picture and Mike was very helpful and so quick to respond to my querying emails... quicker even than some of my own aussie nurseries... what a shame he hasn't got a nursery over here in Oz... he'd have my business thats for sure...

I wanted to get some difficult to find seeds from the Kimberley region of Australia, and Windmill Outback Nursery was able and willing to go to the trouble of hunting them down for me and notifying me when they arrived. Definitely above and beyond the call...

These guys are great. They have lots of informative information about their plants and great photos. They sell seed for mostly everything, but they also keep a fair number of small plants for mail order. They have an extensive number of cold-hardy Australian plants: Eucalyptus and related species (Angophora and Corymbia) are the main items because there are so many of these. However, they have Acacia, Banksia, Callistemon, Anigozantios (kangaroo paw), Adansonia, Calandrinia, Cissus, Clitoria, Dryandra, and many more Australian plants: the list is quite large. The descriptions and ratings are informative and helpful. They tell you about the climate where it comes from, how much water in the original areas etc. They have great pages on how their hardiness ratings are done, etc. They even spell out how quickly the various plants are known to grow and when they can be expected to bloom. I’ve ordered twice and have received good plants, in excellent health and with great shipping and packing attention. The really great thing is that if you write to the nursery they will provide a short answer. I wrote and asked about possible Acacia plants that might be borderline in USDA zone 8b (Conroe TX), I was interested in something with a little different look and was willing to chance it. The reply was great, they let me know that my ideas were “right on” as well as where they just wouldn’t work out based on their experience. Mike suggested alternatives and even took the time to look through odds and ends that weren’t listed in the formal catalog. They even have a Eucalyptus or two for zone 7, the fragrance from the leaves is great and for colder areas they explain which plants make good pot plants. I think one or two of the giant trees might make shrubs in zone 6 (e.g., E. cinerea, wonderful fragrant leaves). I’m a plant nut and am always growing new things, I deal with a lot of mail order places, buying daylilies, native rhododendrons, irises, ornamental grasses, etc. I tend to try a mail order place and move on to another because they all seem alike. This one gets my repeat business because the cost is reasonable, the quality is good, the variety is large, they have things you just can’t get anywhere else, and especially because they respond to questions and steer me towards success.

I tried to order the Eucalyptus cinerea and received this email from Mike at Windmill Outback Nursery, "The Eucalyptus cinerea quality is poor. I would be embarrased to send out something that looks that bad. Would you like a substitute of E. Baby Blue? These I would rate 10 out out a possible 10! I can adjust the price down to match the E. cinerea price. Please advise if this is OK with you or to just delete your order." Now this is service! Thank you Mike for your help! gardenbunny

It was a great experience! They helped me out with my order, giving me advice on what they thought would grow best in my area and were quick in both e-mail response and shipmant of my order. Plants were larger than I expected!! I had bought pots to get ready for the shipment and the pots I bought were too small! Very friendly, fast, and professional!! Carter.

I was very happy with the prompt response I recieved regarding Australian plants that would grow in the Chicago area. My kids needed Australian plants for a 4H project and I emailed Australiaplants.com and recieved a response. I ordered the plants and some seeds. The plants are doing great. The 4H kids are trying to grow Eucalyptus Neglecta from seed as well. The prices were unbelievably low.
