Where do I start? I received a huge box of irises somewhere @ 50 plants give or take a couple. They were all nice fat healthy looking, labeled nicely, and very well packed. I'm thrilled to death with what I got and will be ordering from them again! If you haven't tried them, I highly suggest you give them a try!

Overall an ok experience. This was the first time I have ordered irises so I don't have a lot to go on except my experiences from ordering other plants. First, I received no confirmation when ordering except that my payment was received and that was through paypal. I did email them to ask if they got my order and they did reply back, so I was pleased with that. However, when my irises did arrive, there were two that I did not receive. No explanation whatsoever. The paper that was sent doesn't say why but does show that I wasn't charged. I had forgotten what I had ordered so I had to go back to the paypal form and thats when I realized I didn't get my entire order. However I have to find out if the money was refunded. The rhizomes themselves, vary in size, from large to small but nothing tiny. They are clearly marked. They weren't clean but I suppose that's ok. Once I find out if I have been refunded the money I would say I would buy from again. I suppose my biggest complaint ,like other posters have said is the lack of communication.

On August 23rd, 2008, cherrykist changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: I have changed my rating to positive. As stated before I found that I was charged for two irises that I did not receive. I emailed that company and explained what had happened. I did receive back an email with an apology and was told the two irises that were left out would sent within the week. I not only received the irises in question but two bonus iris as well Their communication/confirmation still needs a little work. All in all service was good and I will order again next year.

Totally happy with my purchase -ordered 12 and received 15. I did get substitites, but I agreed to that on the order form and requested and got fragrant rebloomers as subs. No communication with seller, but I knew that ahead of time from reading other feedback. This is a hobbyist selling iris at really reasonable prices not a huge farm with a hefty staff. Given that, I think this seller provides great value and service. My iris are of reasonable size, well marked with a Sharpie and were packed with care and a packing slip showing my order and substitutions. The website has great photos and you can use Paypal to pay or send a check as I did. The selection is marvelous and the descrptions are informative. I'm very happy with this seller and will order again next year. Good luck to Patrick at Greenhorn Valley and Thanks!

Rec'd my first order today from Greenhorn Valley and have mixed feelings. Two of my plants were substituted, but the site does not indicate my original selections were sold out. Most of the iris were reasonable size for the price (which are very economical), but some were small with no visible roots. I was also given several extra iris. No communication regarding substitutions or indication plants were in route, but do realize that this is an extremely busy time for sellers. Have great expectations the iris will do well and bloom next year and if so, will buy more from this seller.

Sent large healthy iris, even sent one extra. Only problem was they sent subs for two of the iris I ordered, but over all good transaction.

Very positive experience overall. The rhizomes were good size, and shipped at the correct time for planting in my area. I would have to agree with the previous post however about communication. My one complaint was there was zero contact and I had no clue for sure if the order was even placed properly until I received the box in the mail.

I received nice, healthy iris plants from Greenhorn Valley, most of very good size. The prices were very reasonable too. I must say that I was disappointed in Greenhorn's lack of communication. I placed my order online. I received no order confirmation, no response to my e-mails, and no shipping notification. However, I cannot complain at all about the plants I received.

I just received my order yesterday and was very pleased. My complete order was clearly labeled and nicely packed for shipment and the rhizomes were plump and clean with nice roots. Pat was easy to reach via email and responded promptly. I will certainly order from this company again.

Their on-line catalog seems to be unavailable today. I will now write them for a mail order catalog. I have earmarked their business as they had such great selection and wonderful prices. Hopefully this is still true. I will get back here later to report my experience with them.

On August 4th, 2007, ValzWorld changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: THREE THUMBS UP!!! I had to borrow a thumb! The plants arrived via USPS exactly when Patrick said they would, but I thought I was waiting for UPS so only got them this morning. I e-mailed him about that and he took the time to prompt e-mail me back that they were at my P.O. waiting for me. Beautifully packed, he sent me everything exactly as I ordered it PLUS three extras!!! I will definitely be doing business with Patrick and recommending him to any and all people looking for iris. His prices are great and so is Greenhorn Valley Irises!!! WOOHOO!!!
On August 22nd, 2009, ValzWorld added the following: Got my 2009 order of irises from Patrick a week ago and had a bit of a problem. The problem? A few plants were smallish and some had been substituted with pastels... after I wrote NO PASTEL substitutions on the order. I am developing a new iris bed from scratch down in Los Angeles and am not interested in having any pastels in it. So I immediately e-mailed Patrick, about this (and I was a little cranky). He called me early the very next morning. We chatted for quite awhile. Patrick was very caring about his customer relationship with me. Said that he had hired some teens to help him with packing and shipping this year and some of them were careless (care less) and had made a few of these sorts of booboos. Well today I received a box of iris to make-up for the booboos. On opening it, I actually gasped in surprise, because Patrick really outdid himself! THANK YOU, PATRICK! Please remember that he is a hobbyist selling his extras... He doesn't mean to not respond to e-mails; he is just busy out there digging, trimming, marking, packaging and mailing. ... Big, Beautiful, AFFORDABLE IRIS PLANTS! Patrick's prices are so great, and he has treated me so well; I recommend him to every gardening enthusiast I meet. NO ONE in a gardening mail order business has ever been as courteous, pleasant and responsive as Patrick has been to me. AGAIN, I must borrow another thumb: Greenhorn Valley Irises Three BIG Thumbs UP. P.S. Anyone interested in seeing WILLOWENE, my mountain garden can click on this link... //wrongwood.com/forum/index.php?topic=3659.0 Many of the iris are from Patrick's Greenhorn Valley Irises!
