I order twelve trees on 09/03/18 for a total of $121.70. My credit card was promptly billed and I waited for my trees. After several weeks, I began to call the number on the web site to see when my trees would arrive. I left several messages but never received a response. Finally, in January, 2019, I sent an email requesting a refund after receiving an email from Paulawonia Tree Company stating the weather had been bad at the companies location and I would get my trees in the spring of 2019...no date specified. It is now 02/05/19. I have received no response from the company and no refund. Make your own judgement of this company based on my experience.

I ordered 24 Paulownia elongata trees from this company, despite all the misgivings that I always have about ordering from companies new to me. The website seems a bit cheesy, which didn't help, and the company was quite late with shipping the order, which also didn't ease my nerves. Plus it's in Texas. I can say this because I am from Texas. Also, the website does not offer payment by PayPal, which even my credit card company praises as being a very safe option. The upshot is that the seedlings were delivered late last week, and I am delighted with them. They are nicely leafed-out, and the room system is healthy. I repotted them pretty much immediately into plastic nursery pots (each seedling was shipped in its own peat pot) and left them in cardboard boxes outside in anticipation of a rain shower. Today, the leaves are up and happy, and the plants are looking perky. I can't speak for how well these trees will do where I live, but I also don't approve of reviewers assuming that if something goes wrong after planting, the fault must lie with the plant or the company. These are good seedlings, and I'm an experienced longtime gardener, though I have no experience with this tree other than seeing it locally from a distance and being bowled over by its beauty when in bloom. Planting is always a gamble, but I feel good about this gamble. Anyway. despite all my fears, the order was a success. PS: If you order, and it's taking a longer time than promised, I'd suggest chilling out, given that you can apparently plant this tree anytime in summer. I won't plant outside until I have transplanted one more time and the trees are once again rootbound or close to it. From what I understand from researching the tree, that shouldn't take long.

I have ordered trees over the last 2 years and the only problem I experienced was in having to cut the tree back off at ground level if it failed to grow per their instructions in the first month of hot weather and my trees died. They promptly replaced my trees and I must say were very courteous. I tried just planting in the ground immediately after receipt and let them grow the first summer and I will cut them off at ground level this spring. I feel they will do just fine as they should have developed a nice root system over the winter. I have to say this company is very customer service friendly. Happy in Canyon, Texas

I ordered 2 Paulownia elongata trees about a month ago. The order was filled and delivered promptly (I got them, a week later) and I was sent an e-mail to let me know they were on the way. They were packaged very well and arrived with no dirt disturbed or dried out, no crushed leaves, no bent stems - one of the trees had a few little nibbles out of it and I found a snail at the bottom, bult no major problem. At first, everything went downhill from there, my 2 year old picked all the leaves off one and then I left them outside a little too long on a 32 degree evening and the other one froze. Luckily, the company had sent with the order 2 incredibly detatiled instruction sheets, so I just kept a close eye on them and followed the directions to a 'T'. Three days ago, both trees showed new growth! The frozen one is developing new leaves right where the old ones turned brown and the other is developing a new stem! Obviously these are very healthy plants if they can take so much abuse from an inept person like me and still thrive. I don't know how the elongatas will ultimately do here in my zone 5 corner of the prairie, but if I even get a good sized bush that dies back every winter I will be very happy with that. This company gets an A++ for service, packing/shipping, and growing and shipping what are obviously healthy and well taken care of plants!
