They sent the wrong supplies, then they lost the replacement order. I needed a pump and hosing to help keep my pond from freezing. I've maintained this pond with the same beautiful Koi for 20years. Now the pond is frozen and who knows what I will find inthe spring. I wont be able to set up the new pump if the order arrives anyway now. It;s been almost 2 months since I placed the order. Terrible service. Stay away from this place

Ordered 2 pond lights and a remote control in 9/13, received only 1 light and it was broken, and the remote didn't work at all. Contacted them 5 times over a 2 month period, was promised replacements, and then it was back-ordered, then they were going to issue a full credit. They did nothing, so it's now in dispute with the credit card company. 1st order I received from them they were good, but I guess if you have any problems, you're wasting your time getting them to honor their commitment!

I have my pond now for 3 years ,I purchased everything from a local garden center.this year my hubby and I wanted to build a koi pond about 20 foot by 25 foot with a 15 foot stream with waterfall..we started to research at our local library but got confused with all the different points each book was reffering us to do,some said make the pond 2 feet deep and some said to make it 6 feet deep and than some books mentioned fish were not good with plants and than some books said plants are fine.so then I thought what about the internet.we are both in our mid 60’s and wanted to do this as a retirement project.so we went on the internet and searched the word pond project and came up with azponds.com.so on there site they have a box that said click here for tech support through a email.so I basically wrote what I wrote above.azponds wrote back within a day first lets start out with “yes “ you can have fish and plants in the same pond ,what you want to do is build a bog pond at the top and connect it with a stream .the waterfall will flow into the bog pond were that will be a nitrogen pond breaking down all the bad impurities in the pond.than for the main pond put the lilies in but use a nycon protective net to keep the fish out of the dirt, they also have a net protector for the water hyacinths.in my second email back we discussed the depth ,they recommended 3 to 4 ft but if we lived in a really cold region 5 ft would be better to give the fish more to move in the cold months.we live in ny so its not to bad ,temps usually the past few years didn’t go below the mid 30 s or so..so we decided to go 4 ft deep..in our next email we discussed filterration ,well let me tell you this is confusing.we went back and forth with many emails on this and we decided to go with there recommendation because we are getting old and maintance of the pond we wanted very little.so we went with there empeor aquatics complete pond kit.when we received it I thought we purchased something from the future but we put our trust in there opionojn since there were a big help from the get go.it took 3 weeks to build it and hook up all the filtration.my son did all the digging and my brothere did all the plumbing, hes a plumber by trade.wowww did it turn out beautiful and we look forward to getting the fish and naming them.unfortunatrely they don’t sell fish but they went out of there way to find someone near me to get the fish and the plants.so I would like to say azponds rocks .they run pond contests each year so ill be entering that one look for susan in new York state and please vote for me .i could use the free fish food for a year they offer …Susan and Brian

10 days ago I called AZ Ponds and asked for advice on selecting the right pump for my pond. 850 gallons, 60 foot of tubing (1.25"), 4 foot waterfall drop. The person at AZ Ponds quickly suggested I buy the Laguna Max-Flo (6 foot of head height). At the time, I didn't know better and bought it. Of course, the pump is way too small. I returned it at my expense. It makes me mad to have to return the pump, wait for a credit on my credit card when their advice was so far off the mark. When I mentioned this to them over the phone, their response was, "I know the person that took your call and they wouldn't give you bad advice." Their customer service is terrible! I'll never do business with AZ Ponds in PA!

I purchased a Laguna Pond Vacuum online and received the product about 10 days later. I opened the box and followed the instructions to assemble it, charged the battery pack overnite and then tried to use it. It would not run, i checked battery and it was fully charged. I called AZ and the person on the other end sounded irritated. I explained what was going on with the unit and he just said to send it back. Well, I packed it up, and sent it back as requested, then emailed to ask when the replacement would be sent. no response, I then asked if they would reimburse me the $ 39.00 for shipping. again no response. I checked to see if it was delivered and yes, it was signed for by Albert Zimmer, so one more email about the unit and refund... but no response. I contacted paypal and asked for them to mediate the shipping charge. the response from az was it was a warranty issue and they did not have to take it back, but did so as a gesture, but would not refund the shipping. So no apologies, terrible attitude, and I am out 40 bucks with no product. AX Ponds is now minus one client and hopefully others after this post. What a terrible way to run a business.

My wife and I recently decided to put in a pond. After doing a good bit of research we were still a little confused. "Chris" at Az Ponds was a huge help to us. He set us up with a Laguna filter system and was availible to help walk us through the few questions we had once we got it. We are very happy with the results! :-)

It's a very long story but the bottom line is that "Mark" at AZ Ponds recommended a specific pump for a fountain application after I gave him complete and accurate details of the application and, of course, it didn't work. It didn't even get the water out of the fountain. I then moved the pump right to the edge of the pond and it could only produce about a 1' fountain (6' - 8' requirement). After contacting him, he told me that it was the wrong pump for that application and that he would never recommend it for that and to send it back - once I contacted that department for the required Return Authorization. Here are the notes ... I have been directed to you for an exchange by Mark. I was initially given the recommendation of the 5800SEQ23 for my fountain application and it is a dud – provides about an 18 inch fountain at best – and that’s when I totally re-plumbed the application to place the pump up at the pondside essentially at water level. After speaking with him several times, we now have settled on the ½ HP ECO series stainless steel pump that you offer on your fountain package – as long as that pump can be adapted to my existing fountain which uses 1-½ inch poly tubing (he wasn’t sure how it ties into the ECO-Series fountain). Please reply with the details on if there will be any problem adapting that pump to my fountain and also regarding the return of the 5800SEQ23 and crediting my MasterCard. Also, if it will work for me, I’d like to get the ECO pump on its way ASAP. Thanks, and after two months of avoiding my calls and leaving me on perpetual hold ... This is the fourth and final time (by phone and email) I will be corresponding to you with this issue. You obviously receive the mail but apparently only respond to orders. My next correspondence will be by way of copying all this material to attorneys general and to the BBB. Your call. which got this reply ... I have not seen any emails from you sent to this address besides today. I forwarded the email to Mark and he will get back to you tomorrow. He is en route back to the FL office. Sorry for the delay Neil and, you guessed it, that was the last I heard from them. Good luck if you decide to do business with these clowns.

I wish I had read the many negative reviews here before placing an order. I placed an order on June 1 and my credit card was charged the following day. I received a one-line email that the main item was on backorder and they hoped to have it in a couple of weeks, even though it was indicated as being in stock when I placed the order. They did not give me a choice of canceling the order. I finally received a partial shipment on June 14, even though the person I talked to on the phone the week before told me that the complete order had shipped. I called the next day and the person I talked to was quite rude and said they always charged the credit card right away even if the item was not in stock. He told me that the remaining item was going to be shipped that day. I called again the next day for a tracking number and they still had not shipped it and did not seem to know when they would. I asked for the order to be canceled and the money refunded, and was told that they would do so and confirm by email. I still have not received the email. I will be calling my credit card company to contest the charge.

I had ordered a G55T8 germicidal bulb for my pond clarifier. I talked to the salesman on the phone and he said I would be better off just ordering on line. I looked up the kit on AZ pond website, and saw that they had the bulb I needed in stock for $109.05. Well, me being the dummy, I ordered it. When it got here I installed it and it worked for about 40 days and then blackened into soot. I tried getting hold of AZ ponds to voice my complaint and as of yet, I have had no response to my email. I have looked up other suppliers and I found that the bulb they sent me was an Eiko G55T8 which sells for $25.00! It is a Sankyo bulb that they sell for their pond kits, but jacked up to over three times the price. And, like I stated, I still have had no response, no replacement, and no nothing from them. I feel like the bulb should have lasted much longer than it did, as it is listed for 8,000 hours.

I ordered a Laguna 315 watt de-icer combo kit for my pond. I had looked at several web sites and AZ ponds appeared to have the best prices. The free shipping was the deciding factor for me. When my package arrived I opened it to discover what was sent was not what I ordered. They sent the wrong kit which did not include the same items I had paid for, too small of a pond net, and other items I did not need or want. ( the kit received wasn't even the same price). I immediately contacted them about the problem. To the credit of AZ Ponds, they did admit the wrong kit was sent and said they would ship out the correct order. Here's the reasons for the negative rating. (1) during two phone conversations, the persons representing AZ Ponds were very "short" and gave the impression that I was bothering them (two different people). (2) I was told to repack the original kit sent, set it outside the door and UPS would pick it up. When I asked questions about addressing the package, and when I should set it outside I was told UPS would address it, and to "just set it out" as they pick up Monday -Wednesday "I think". The male party on the phone sounded like "you should know this" and seemed annoyed at my questions. Anyway, I repacked and set it out Wednesday morning. (had to bring it back in that night and Thursday night since it wasn't picked up). It was picked up Friday. (3) I feel AZ Ponds should have expidited the shipment of the correct kit, which they did not do. After all, they did admit it was their error in shpping the wrong items. In fact, I contacted them on a Tuesday, and the correct kit wasn't shipped out until two days later. Total time to get the kit I had ordered and for which they had already been paid was approximately 14 days. (4) NEVER....at any time, via email or phone conversation was even a simple "we're sorry" expressed. I for one, would rather pay a little more, and/or shipping charges if it would mean a being treated like a valued customer, and being able to speak to someone who can display some professionalism. I know I will never deal with AZ Ponds again.

After purchasing a Sequence pump kit from AZponds, I discovered a problem with air under the lid of the priming pump. After troubleshooting, I discovered that the problem is a bad lid or pot. AZ Company's Policy: The company will not pay for shipping charges to return defective merchandise. Their canned response was that the manufacturer will not pay for shipping. So I called Sequence. According to them, they, in fact, will reimburse for shipping if the product is defective. I was also told that Sequence stopped dealing with AZponds. The question was raised how AZponds is getting Sequence merchandise. I have opted to work directly with Sequence and the issue is resolved. If I had gone through AZponds, it would have cost me shipping, time and inconvenience to remove the entire priming pot, and operational downtime of the pump. I avoided all this through dealing with the manufacture, Sequence directly. AZponds' solution, if I wanted to avoid the operational downtime, was to buy a new priming pot and have it shipped to me before removing the old one. AZponds' prices are good, but you may want to avoid them on the basis of severely lacking warranty policy.

Over the past two years I have ordered through AZ Ponds a Cyprio bio-filter, two pumps, tubing, a UV clarifier and Matala filter media. Their prices are competitive and delivery is fast. Except for some purchases from my local nursery, I don't buy pond supplies from anyone but AZ Ponds. I'm hoping to visit their store someday soon in Birdsboro, PA.

BUYER Beware! The prices of AZPonds attracted me at first to their site. I've attempted to purchase three different items from them at different times in the past. Each item (pump, skimmer box and maintenance products) had the lowest price on the internet. When I went to make my purchase with them, I was told that the product I wanted was not in stock but that I could get a similar item which would cost much much more. Speaking with them over the phone was even worse. The man was rude and demeaning. I've been in the pond business for 5 years and have experience in pond installation and maintenance. The man acted like I knew nothing. Bottom Line... AZPonds is very unprofessional, a poor representation for the ponding business. The company seems to be in legal trouble. After talking to another online shop about my experience with AZPonds, they told me that the pond industry as a whole is having problems with companies like these because they undercut prices against the manufacturers terms and offer poor follow-up services.

This really is the worst company on the net. First ok yes they are cheap but is really all you want? Bait and switch practices, Poor customer support, Non Return policy and they make you feel stupid when you call with a problem. Anyone can sell pond supplies and anyone can be cheap but you have to have a balance or price and support. I have found many other companies on the internet that are fair in price, have the products in stock that I order when I order and I do not get grief when I need to return something or get support. It really is not worth dealing with a company that is getting sued by there vendors and that continually craps on there customers. I have bought from them in the past and will never deal with them again. Read all the negatives hear on Daves and you be the judge. Do yourself a favor and buy from another company. Put this company out of business for the better of the pond community.

I ordered about $1,300 in products from AZ ponds. I explained to them that I had some major pond problems and asked them to please expedie my order. After 2 days they still had not shipped my order. When the order was shipped their on line tracking system did not work and when I e mailed and called 4 times I was not able to get the tracking numbers for the shipment. When I finally got the tracking numbers I found out that they had shipped it to my PO box not my physical address. You would think that they would know not to ship by UPS to a PO box, but they didn't. This caused a further delay in the arrival of the pond supplies. My pond is in ruins and I have received absolutely no help from AZ ponds. As I write this I still do not have the items I ordered from AZ Ponds. A word of Advice, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!. There are lots of other reputable companies to order pond supplies from.

I am very unhappy with the service I recieved from this company. I purchased a uv filter and it did not function properly. I spoke with Mike in their office awhile back about a green water problem that I was having and was advised to go with a 36 watt uv for my pond. He seemed to be very informative at the time and I decided to purchase this UV. I hooked the UV up exactly as Mike told me. After a month of use, I did not see the results I was told I would see. All I had was green water and could not see my show koi. So, I called AZPonds back to see what I was doing wrong. I asked for Mike and was told that he was unavailable and had to wait on hold for 20 minutes until someone could help me. I offered to give them my phone number so that they could call me back, but was told numerous times, that someone would be with me right away. After being on hold so long, a Mark took my call and I told him all about my situation. He asked me alot of questions about my pond. When he was done, he told me that the 36 watt UV I have was too small for my pond and that I needed to go with a 80 watt UV. I asked him how his other co worker came to the conclusion that I should go with a 36 watt UV and all Mark did was pause and said that he didn't know. I asked Mark if I could return the 36 watt UV for credit so that I could go with the 80 watt UV and he said that they didn't take merchandise back once it was used. I tried to reason with him that I was told to go with the 36 watt UV by Mike who was an employee of AZPonds and Mark said that this is their policy and that there was nothing that he could about it. What made me mad about the whole thing is that Mark's tone became harsh during the conversation which made me feel like I was incompetent. Personally, I think they should have taken the unit back and gave me credit because of the bad advice I received from one of their employees. I don't think I'll be shopping on their website again. Here is a warning about azponds.com for anyone who is thinking about buying from them: They won't accept returns even if they are used only briefly. So basically they won't accept returns, period. Yesterday I got a water pump from them and tested it out in the pond to find out it's a little undersized. So I called them this morning asking to exchanging to a bigger size...Well I was out of luck cuz it's used for all but 2 minutes and they won't do anything about it. Such return policy is almost unheard of in this country and no other reputable retailers will even think about pulling it off on their customers. I guess most of them try to make their customers happy instead of chasing them away. Anyway, this is first and last time I will ever buy from azponds. I hope fellow ponders will get something out of my misfortune and get to know the true color of that company.

watch out for the bait and switch with these guys, I fell for it big time. They advertise some very nice items at low prices, you buy them and then are told, oh sorry they are on backorder, and they try and sell you a different model that is not as good for the same price. Turns out they do not stock the backordered items at all. I find out later after chatting with my local dealer that they are being sued for their business practices and that the products they refer to you to fill in the backorders are made by Al Zimmer's brother in law at Laguna!!!!!!! It's quite the little scam they got going. Not saying don't buy from them, just be weary of backorders and their "suggested" replacements. I also bought a sequence pump from them. Turns out that sequence changed motors to some Made in Mexico generic brand motor, but AZ ponds still markets them as having the high quality Made in USA Baldor motors. I was pretty shocked to see this when I got my new pump.

I ordered a piece meal pond kit including an external Sequence pump, liner, underlayment and tons of other stuff from AZPonds back in August of 2005. Their online prices simply cannot be touched and are the lowest by far, of anyone else. The website was easy enough to navigate and they also have an online "auction" that allows you to name your price for many items and yielded me another chunk of savings. I received my order in 5 seperate boxes quickly including the 20 X 25 45mil liner. The liner box was completely destroyed, but the liner looked fairly intact, so I have installed it. My pump wasn't included in the original shipment and took a "where's my pump!" email to get it shipped. (it was backordered, no biggee). I have installed all of my pond components and have found a few defective items including the thermometer (isn't readable) and an egg lite that leaks. I've just sent them an email for warranty instructions and they informed me that they will be sending out replacements no charge ASAP. Once my replacement parts arrive, I would have no problem changing my neutral vote to positive and would use them again. Their prices can't be beat and on the off chance that they ship you bad stuff, they replace it quickly (or at least I hope). I'd recommend that they package the heavy liners in better materials so they're better protected during shipping. Mine was shipped in a simple cardboard box and the weight of the liner destroyed it. Free shipping on a 150 lbs. liner is a great deal, however if it leaks your sunk. I'll update my comment in a month or two and let you know how they've handled my defects.

On March 26th, 2006, mjohnso8 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: I've received my new egg lite and thermometer and am happy to change my neutral to positive. For the price, AZPonds is a great online deal.

After finding a lower price with another company I placed my order and included the price match I expected to receive on my order. I was later left a message by AZ Ponds stating that the price match would not be honored because the other company charged shipping and AZ Ponds did not. The other company’s product with shipping was slightly more than AZ Pond's product with free shipping. My position was that the web site does not note this technicality and states that the price match is for products. In my mind shipping is a service not a product. When I called back and explained my position to the order placement department I was told that this was common sense. When I suggested that they state this policy on their web site I was told that I should order from the competing company and that they did not want my business. I then called customer service and asked to speak with the company owner about my experience. I was told that he generally does not speak to customers about their orders and was asked if there was something that they could do for me. I relayed my experience to the customer service representative and he was generally friendly and responsive. However, I got the feeling that this was not an uncommon occurrence. He stated that they receive a tremendous amount of phone traffic and that sometimes calls carry over to the next customer. He stated that he would "take care of the situation." However, based on the feel of the conversation I do not believe the rude employee will be disciplined. I told him as a customer that I believed that I deserved to be treated with a certain amount of respect that I had not received from the earlier phone conversation. I will not order from this company again.

Great prices and speedy shipment. On the items I ordered (2 pumps, skimmer box, and flex pvc) shipping was free. I appreciated receiving emails confirming my order, notifying me of its shipping date, and providing tracking links.

I find them to be a great company to deal with. I have ordered several times from them and they have almost always had the very best prices on the web. They have a 130% price guarantee...I haven't had to use it yet. I have ordered pumps, pond supplies, and tonight I just ordered a Pondvac2. The closest price to it was 30$ higher and I didn't have to spend anything on shipping through the special they are having.....I don't think I have ever bought anything from them that wasn't on a good sale price at the time I needed it.

AZ has great prices and I've received good quality products. I would like to see their communication improve somewhat. Emails are returned but not as quickly as I would hope for. Sometimes, I'm left wondering if something is in transit or not. Still I rate them as positive because no issue has been left unresolved.

Some of the best prices I have ever seen on epdm pond liners and associated products. Great customer service. I have been most pleased with every product purchased from this source and their one on one installation and set up phone help after the products were received. Their web site also contains nice information which includes a pond volume estimater. Quite simple to use.
