I ordered a Golden Lantern and a Blue Satin Hibiscus. The plants arrived in good shape by Priority Mail. They were shipped on Monday and were received on Thursday. They items are growing nicely and are very healthy. I ordered two more Golden Lanterns and another blue hibiscus which are in shipment as of July 2. The lady who took the orders was very courteous and was very helpful with the answers to questions about various plants.

On July 5th, 2007, kokomo36 added the following: Two more Golden Lanterns and one Blue Satin Hibiscus shipped on July 2 arrived on July 5. The plants were packed well and arrived in fine shape. They are healthy just like the ones in the previous order. I will do business with this company again. They are courteous and ship promptly. The prices are good too.

I ordered 2 Viburnum 'Blue Muffin" and 4 "Blue Satin" Rose of Sharon bushes through their website. I was pleased with the size and condition of all the bushes (the Rose of Sharons had blooms and buds). The post office was rough with the box (what a surprise!) but none of the plants were injured because of it (I would have preferred UPS if given the choice). My only quibble would be that it would have been nice to receive a confirmation email from them letting me know that they received my order. I did get the Paypal receipt but a quick email directly from them would have been nice. I did receive an email when plants were shipped. I was happy with my transaction and would not hesitate to do business with Tangled Roots Nursery again.

ALL BUYERS SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER TANGLED ROOTS SEVEN-DAY POLICY ON THEIR PLANTS!!! ESPECIALLY, BUYERS WHO ORDER PLANTS DURING THE LATTER PART OF THE GROWING SEASON WHEN PLANTS ARE SHIPPED IN A DORMANT STATE. A seven-day policy to notify Tangled Roots about a problem with a plant or plants (even a dormant plant which usually "looks" dead anyway) is DEFINITELY NOT ENOUGH TIME to know whether or not you have a viable plant. This is expecially true of dormant plants which are planted in the fall and then go through a winter season in Zone 5. Considering this, Tangled Roots' seven-day policy is even worst than Jackson and Perkins' 30-day policy. I received my order from Tangled Roots in the fall of 2004. I ordered three (3) 'Pink Cloud' Beauty Bushes and one (1) 'Snowflake' Hydrangea. Since the plants were shipped to me late in the season, ALL four (4) plants looked dead because they were in a dormant state. What was I supposed to do? Should I have called Tangled Roots right away (within seven days) and told them that they shipped me four dead plants? No. I understand what dormant plants are, so I planted the nursery stock Tangled Roots shipped to me. Well, the spring of 2005 rolled around. Two of the beauty bushes leafed out beautifully and the third beauty bush did not. Also, the hydrangea failed to leaf out. I gave ALL four plants the opportunity to break their dormancy during the spring, but two of the four plants were duds. On June 23, 2005, I e-mailed Tangled Roots about these two plants. On June 24 I received a terse e-mail from Kristi stating I knew about their seven-day policy, that I had waited too long to contact them, and that if I had notified them months earlier I would have received "free plants with free shipping." Now, if I want to receive "free plants" I would have to pay $9 shipping. Well, I don't need anyone trying to use "reverse psychology" on me. Saying one thing and ACTUALLY doing another are two different things. Kristi would have still given me the same response about the two plants AND their seven-day policy if I had contacted them "months earlier" as opposed to now. In addition, I AM NOT PAYING ANOTHER DIME ON SHIPPING to this company. I have already paid shipping on two plants that were duds. I am out of $25.98 PLUS shipping on these two failed plants. Tangled Roots should make the situation right by shipping me replacements (with free shipping) for the 'Pink Cloud' Beauty Bush (which I am willing to wait for when available) and the 'Snowflake' Hydrangea.

I have just placed a order with Tangled Roots, the customer service is great, very nice people, not the usual "I dont know anything about plants, I only take orders" type of service. They answer any questions that you may have about soil requirements and heat zone tolerances, and are very nice. I called on Friday, the plants shipped on Monday and I was informed by e-mail and given a tracking # to track my shipment. The prices are GREAT, and so far I am very impressed with this company. I will update more information when my plants have arrived and are safely in the ground! TexasTatum
