This is my first experience with Blossom Farm and it exceeded expectations. The herbs I ordered were larger than I expected for the price, in perfect health, and arrived 4 days after I placed the order. So far, they are flourishing. I recommend this nursery.

The wonderful people we find online! My mint collection arrived today, and they look like they just came from across the bay. I had to check again: OHIO. The package was actually delayed, but it was Gayle herself who notified me. It is ALWAYS sheer excitement when I follow up on my orders, and when I emailed, Blossom Farm replied. I think communication is important. I love her personal touch to business. I will be a returning customer.

I ordered a few herbs and ground covers from blossom farms. The plants arrived quickly and were well packed. However, one of the plants looked brown and smashed, and I contacted them immediately to let them know. I was told that this particular plant looks that way at this time of year. I watered it and noticed some snails coiled on the top of the potting mix. I contacted them again and asked what could be done. I was told to soak the plant in water for one hour and that this happens sometimes. I ended up throwing the plant away! I don't expect to see pests in plants I order and I would have appreciated a refund. The other plants seem to be okay (I visually inspected them for pests and did not see any), but I don't have the confidence in this company to order more.

I just ordered several plants from this company, and I am thrilled with them! They shipped quickly, they were packed very carefully and arrived in good shape, and they were larger plants than I expected for the price. I am so happy with my purchase! I'll definitely use them again!

Due to this winter's weird weather, shipping of the seven plants I'd ordered was delayed, but they kept in touch with me the entire time. One of the plants was unavailable, and they refunded the money and a little more immediately. The plants (and packet of seeds) arrived healthy and hardy and packaged quite well. Entirely happy with the plants and the experience with these folks, and I would order from them again without hesitation. Ann

I'm so glad I found Blossom Farm! I ordered a pink prickly pear cactus, a paprika yarrow, and a giant pussy willow. All arrived yesterday looking very healthy. I'm particularly excited about the cactus as these are not always easy to find. And this was so nicely shaped, too! All plants were packaged to ensure that the soil would remain moist during shipment. Gayle does a great job, and she seems to offer many rare and unusual ornamental plants. I'll certainly order from her again -- and again!

On May 16th, 2007, figaro52 added the following: These plants are extremely healthy. Could it be the unheated greenhouse at Blossom Farm?! Anyway, the prickly pear cactus is spouting at least a half dozen new pads. The paprika yarrow has buds, and the pussy willow is very healthy and growing very well. I'm amazed at how quickly these plants are progressing!
On August 18th, 2007, figaro52 added the following: I just want to say that the plants I ordered in the spring have turned out to be FABULOUS! The pink prickly pear cactus even bloomed! I wasn't expecting this for another year or two. The paprika yarrow has been blooming non-stop and the pussy willow is full of lush new growth. This is a great little nursery!!

About a month ago I decided to place a trial order with Blossom Farm based on their excellent rating. I ordered a clearance perennial collection and although it arrived in the full heat of summer and I planted everything in the middle of a heat wave, I've not lost a single plant, mainly due to how healthy and well-developed the plants were when they arrived. The plants were cut back properly, packaged well, and still moist despite the weather. Shipment was prompt. The selection was very nice for a clearance "pot luck" sort of collection, and 6 of the 9 plants are blooming like crazy, as if they have been in the ground for a year rather than a month. Based on the prompt shipping, reasonable prices and healthy plants, I will definitely order from Blossom Farm again.

I ordered 5 mints in June, delivered to Houston Texas. They mailed on Monday and the mints arrived on Wednesday. All 5 were in great condition and packed where little to no shifting seemed to occur. I would reorder from them in the future.

I ordered two (2) bay leaf trees and one (1) pennyroyal herb. All three plants arrived beautifully packaged and very secure within a USPS postal box. The plants were wrapped with both paper and rubber bands to protect the best position of the plant for shipping and to keep the soil from coming loose from the containers. This was my first time ordering on-line for any plants, but read some of the reviews on Dave's site. When I had questions about the shipping and care of the plants, Gayle was very prompt to email me back. She proved to be totally trustworthy and completely stands behind her site's claim for integrity. I will be ordering from Blossom Farms in the future. Recommended highly :)

I ordered 2 passiflora incarta plants and a hardy rosemary from them. The plants arrived well packed and healty. Only problem was that, there was a mix-up for passion flowers. The plants I received were not hardy for my zone (6b). I sent an e-mail to Gayle telling about my concern. We exchanged several e-mails on this issue. Since she did not have any "incarta" plants to send me at the time, she offered to refund my money and told me to keep the "mixed-up" plants also. I'm completely satisfied with the customer service they provided. I would order from them in the future.

I ordered 4 passionflower plants and one packet of seeds. The order arrived promptly. The 4 plants, in 4 inch square pots, fit tightly in the 8 inch square box, the pots could not move around inside the box. The potting soil was covered and no soil was outside the pots. The vine plants were very healthy. The seed packet came in its own small package, to keep it dry presumably. I like that detail a lot. A free catalog was included. Blossom will get more business from me in the future.

I placed an order for several plants (sweet grass, vanilla grass, white sage, silver artemisia)...all, but the patchouli, arrived healthy and are thriving. I'm waiting for either a replacement plant or credit to my credit card for the patchouli. I notified Gayle within 48 hrs. of receiving the plants that the patchouli was in bad shape. She asked that I wait several days and update her as to it's condition. This I did...and at this point, the patchouli was at death's door. I will update this entry when the situation is resolved and change my rating to positive or negative. Denise

On May 18th, 2006, zville123 changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: I did receive a replacement patchouli plant that looks much healthier than the first. It came well packed with soil intact and moist.

I ordered some herbs and native flowers from this company a couple of years ago. All the plants were healthy and packaged very well. All but one took off in my garden, and the one that didn't survive was probably planted in too shady a location. I'd order from them again, and would recommend them to others living on the east coast, anyway.

I had originally ordered from this company because they had the Chocolate Mint I was looking for, and once I found out they had a $20 minimum order, it encouraged me to try some other things. I ordered Chocolate Mint, Cinnamon Basil and Roman Chamomile, along with a bar of their handmade soap. The order arrived in good shape, with a small cash credit and explanatory note enclosed because the basil was so small. I transplanted everything and by the end of this summer, the mint had gone wild (and was very tasty makings for tea!) and the basil had become a huge bush, far outgrowing its 5-gallon container. The chamomile arrrived in a healthy, thriving state, but soon died. I'm a very newbie gardnener and was told by a friend that chamomile can be picky, so I blame inexperience. The soap was highly scented and very good quality, but my family didn't like the Patchouli scent, so I had to stop using it. :-) All in all, I will be ordering again from Blossom Farm for 2006. I was quite pleased with the service and the hardy, healthy plants I received, at a good price. It was encouraging to see things thrive and produce more than enough, even with me being so inexperienced!

On May 3rd, 2006, QuietVoice added the following: Update 5/3/06: This is my second year, and I ordered seeds this time along with plants. The seeds were sent in plenty of time for early indoor sowing and I received the plants in time to put outdoors for my zone...which will be done shortly. They all arrived undamaged and thriving. I appreciate the timely service and the wonderful selection. I found some much-wanted seeds I didn't expect to find through them, and my hen-n-chicks "cobweb", and two types of mint (apple and chocolate) are growing so fast in the windowsill that I need to hurry up and get them replanted! Happy customer here.

Thank you quietvoice. You either love patchouli or hate it.
I hated it at first but does grow on you - now it is one of my favorites.
I look forward to serving your garden needs in the future.

I ordered on-line in Feb 2003, but never received anything, but my credit card was not charged. Called Blossom Farm today and spoke with Gayle (the proprietor) and she apologized for the order being misplaced. She took my order by phone and promises to ship on Monday. I will provide a follow up once I receive the items: Blue Mist Spirea, herbal soaps and essential oils. I really like there website with a huge plants data base with photos and cultural information. Great resource and enjoyable to browse.

I ordered from them in the Spring of 2001. They have a great selection of plants. I received my order in a timely matter, but 2 plants were missing. After contacting the company, they were sent within the week with an apology. The plants were in great condition and a good size. Their prices were cheaper then. But I would still order from them.

I ordered a few perennial's last March from them. I thought I placed my order early enough but it wasn't until July that I recieved my order. They were nice size and healthy but the service was very, very slow!!!!! I was happy with the plant's and will probably order again!
