Posted on April 21, 2017, updated January 21, 2021 This was my first order with Reeseville. They were very responsive by email, and provided useful information on their plants. My order arrived on time, and the plants were in good shape. Will order again.

On January 21st, 2021, cbandpb added the following: I have now ordered from Reeseville Ridge for several years. They are friendly and responsive. The plants have always arrived well packaged and in good condition. It's nice to find a nursery to get some unusual stuff for good prices. They also have a very nice discount when you purchase 25 of an individual plant. Thumbs Up!

First time customer. Ordered several shrubs. Plants are very small starter/liner plants but that is reflected in the prices. They have some uncommon plants in their assortment. Would order from them again.

My comments are exactly the same as those previously mentioned. Unless I am specifically looking for a larger plant to start with, say 24 inches are greater, I now always look at Reeseville first for my plant orders. They are very professional, courteous and helpful - not something you would expect where the prices are so good. Clearly they do this for the love of it.

I love this place! I order about every other year on average. They have a FANTASTIC selection - tons of stuff I cannot find at my local nurseries. Trees are very cheap, although small. They will ship in tubes even though the summer, and the stuff they send is almost always in good shape. I would estimate my mortality rate at about 5%.

I received my first order from tthis company yesterday. As the other reviewers have said, the plants were packed very well and were fresh.. Some were small but were as expected and exactly as advertised at 6-12 inches. Many were much larger than expected. All were very well rooted. To my delight, extras were included with many varieties. If i ordered 25, there were 30 in the package. These extras were not culls and were every bit as good as the rest. Another plus is I could order just 2 or 3 of a variety and didn't have to order in large lots. I know this is much more labor intensive for RRN but great for those of us with small gardens or if we aren't sure of a plants hardiness in our area. Also allows others like me to try a little of everything! For customer service, RRN is wonderful. Darrell helped me decide which plants would be most successful in my area and didn't hesitate to tell me what wouldn't do well even if it meant losing a sale. I had to adjust time of shipment because of our unusually cold, wet spring....no problem. I can't recommend this company enough! I am happy to find a good source of bare root plants to save on shipping and simply because they do better for me. I seldom write reviews unless a company is very bad or extremely good. In this case, RRN deserves this glowing review.

I ordered bottlebrush buckeyes and magnolia sieboldi from them this spring. Both of these plants are relatively hard to find, particularly for smaller sizes, so I was pleased to find any source for them at all. Ordering is 100% old-school print an order and mail a check. I ordered in the winter and did get a nice receipt well in advance of the spring ship date. The plants were all bare rooted, with the roots in plastic bags packed with damp shredded paper. They arrived at my house in great shape, but I am not certain whether the packing would be adequate for a longer distance or during warmer weather. They included an extra of both plants The buckeyes were in excellent shape. Nicely sized, and as healthy looking as any shrub I've ever gotten in the mail. There is no way to put it politely, but the magnolias were tiny. They did look exuberantly healthy, but were no more than 8" from the bottom of the roots to the top of the single quarter sized leaf. Given the price and rarity, I am not complaining, but do be prepared to spend some time nursing things along. While some of this review may appear a little less-than-glowing, I assure you this is not the case, I just believe in posting all the details so everyone can know what to expect. For my own part, the health and vigor of the plants was so impressive (particularly given the prices) that I will certainly put Reeseville Ridge at the top of my short list for future years.

I was surprised at some of the really unusual plants they have, and when I had questions they were very responsive. When one plant I requested was a little small they warned me of the size and asked it I was sure I wanted it. The prices were really affordable and even though they didn't have an online catalogue, I was able to pay with a pay pal account. I'll definitely buy more plants from them.

Wow. I thought it was kinda weird that you can only pay by check in the mail. However, I dont care since I received my package. The price was great and the plants were very very large. Best bargain mail order that I have ever encountered. Pleasantly surprised.

I ordered 26 plants from Reeseville and all but 3 were healthy and of good size, especially for the small price. Darrell Kromm was very helpful and prompt in responding to questions via phone and Email. Two of the smallest plants did not make it, but I will not be charged for them. The only caveat I have, and this is for large orders only- be prepared to either plant in the ground upon recipt or have pots and potting soil ready. I needed gallon and three gallon pots. I knew those nursery pots I had been saving would come in handy some day.

I purchased 8 plants and they all arrived in excellent condition. Very well packaged, very healthy, as large (and in some cases larger) as advertised. As a techy it was hard to take the chance on a company without a website (okay, they have an order form online, but that's it), but I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Great prices and an outstanding product.

I ordered 10 trees from Reeseville, they arrived today. The trees were packed well, larger than stated on the order form and all had healthy root systems. Needless to say, I was very impressed! I would definitely order trees here again and will recommend Reeseville Ridge Nursery to others.

I have found the Holy Grail of buying trees!! I purchased five trees and a shrub from Reeseville Ridge, and this is the first time I've ever gotten my money's worth from a mail-order nursery -- and then some! My trees arrived within two days of my order (even though Reeseville's shipping season was actually over -- oops), and everything was healthy and beautiful. The plants themselves had been meticulously packed; it's obvious that these folks actually care about the quality and condition of the plants they send. The prices are unbelievable...most items are $2 or $3. The highest-priced item I saw (and bought) was a one-gallon potted tree for $5. I'd say it's at least 3 feet tall. Gorgeous! Reeseville Ridge definitely has a serial customer here -- after this, I won't buy from anyone else. Their website is very simple, which I like, but there are no images of the plants, just the item listing and description. Who cares?! You won't be disappointed with anything you purchase. I sure wasn't. I love these guys!!

My 12 plants came in pots and look very good. I think the size compares favorably with those from other companies, but the prices are certainly reasonable.

Very nice plants sent. I purchased an Amelanchier x grandiflora that was listed at 12" to 18" and it is 45" tall, not including the roots, for $4.00!!! The other plants I ordered are well rooted and in great shape. Order from this company with complete confidence.

This company has a large number of unusual native plants (Wooly Pipevine, Ptelea trifoliata, Hackberry, etc). The plants are small but healthy and the price is very small so the value is good. They are shipped bareroot, at the proper planting time, just starting to bud out
