I ordered two assorted packs last year. Could not have been happier with the quality, packing, etc. Have ordered again this year. My twelve bulbs from last year produced approximately 110 healthy bulbs this year. We have been extremely pleased with these results. It is especially helpful to have thegarlicstore.com match appropriate garlic types according to growing conditions/suitable climate.

I ordered a sampler in the fall of 2006 and planted out as directed on their website. Since this was my first time growing garlic in the garden, the sampler was a great way for me to try several varieties at a reasaonable price. I just finished harvesting some lovely, large bulbs (June 2007). Just smelling them cure, I can tell that they will have a flavor, strenth and picancy (is that a word?) that cannot be matched by the store bought varieties. The order was correct and delivered at the proper planting time for my zone. The website is very informative.

On September 15th, 2007, kmom246 added the following: The hardnecks from the 2006 planting significantly out performed softnecks in our climate, so this year I ordered primarily hardnecks for the 2007 planting. Bulbs arrived a few days ago (the correct planting time for our area), bagged and labeled, large, fresh and healthy looking. Packing was good. They are certified organic processor and handler by the Colorado Dept. of Ag. They will ship to a PO Box (many places will not), so that keeps my packages from roasting in 100*F+ temps waiting for me to come home.

This is our second year of ordering from The Garlic Store. I always seem to be "too late" to take advantage of choosing exactly what I want, but The Garlic Store promised to send me garlics for my Michigan climate nevertheless. I received garlics, like Turbans only suitable for Lousiana type gardens. : ((((( I realized humans were working at this company when I ordered a garlic peeler last year, and it didn't come for the longest time. What had happened, was the manufacturer of the peeler had run out of packaging and was making everyone wait for their stupid packaging. Dave, the Chief Clove, called us,and was so exasperated with that situation, I could just hear it in his voice. Its never easy running a company. I got Transylvanian bulb this year, and hopefully it will regrow into huge and horrid looking children of his frightening looking parent. The thing was evil looking! LOLOL. My bonus was an Elephant Garlic, which was not such a great bonus. I would have appreciated more even a small clove of some obscure named var. being that I am dealing with a company of growing organic rare, heirloom, heritage garlic types, and not enamored particularly of an Elephant Garlic. Its not even a true garlic from what I understand. My garlics came in bags and plastic containers, and they were not too messed up. the shipping was fine. I kept them opened in the basement for a few weeks till I could get the raised bed built and ready. Then, I could get em in. Some of the cloves shriveled a bit, but I have secure hope they will plump up under the ground and grown like banshees. We have them in a 2 foot high bed, filled with rich black dirt, straw and manures from our farm. Covered with 6 inches of straw held on with netting. The bed is 5 foot wide by 10 feet long and I put in about 150 cloves I think. I used up the left overs for a ground bed for some seed garlic, unnamed var. too from last year from them that got lost due to chicken and geese label stealing.... I also ordered a DVD on growing garlic from this company. When I viewed it, I was so disappointed, you can't believe. It was mostly about a garlic party somewhere. It was a cheesy dvd and not worth what we spent on it. Shame!!! I would have preferred a shorter and more informative treatise just on growing garlic and not some self touting horn blowing time waster. I guess the only instruction I received from that dvd that I have incorporated into our plantings, was that "garlic is a labor intensive crop". But, I do it out of love! Hopefully next year, we will be able to order sooner from this company, and not receive some garlics ill chosen for our climate. thank you sheri williams WigglyPaw Farm Hastings,MI

I have used The Garlic Store for the last three years because of their range of garlic strains unavailable almost anywhere else. Unfortunately, they have screwed up my order for the last two years. Last year they sent me a mystery hardneck instead of the softneck Transylvanian I had ordered. They promissed to replace it but never did. I tried to get Transylvanian from another vendor this year but everyone else was sold out, so I gave The Garlic Store a second chance. They got all of my requested individual strains right, including Transylvanian, but an exotic and heritage eight pack was open and the bulbs scattered about making identification nearly impossible. I will look elsewhere next year.

We are harvesting our garlic this week in SE Michigan and I cannot be more pleased. We planted in the fall as recommended and everyone of the cloves sprouted and produced large cloves. Seems now I will be giving some away. Will try again this fall. Thank you.

The Garlic Store’s selection and helpful information exceeds many other vendors, and their garlic is “Certified Organic Processor/Handler” by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Their garlic is reasonably priced and hand crafted on family farms. They offer many softneck varieties that are easy to grow and tolerate a wide variety of climate conditions and are especially good for my warmer climate. I am impressed with their selection and successful germination rates.

I love this place and I am DEFINITELY planning to stock up again this Fall. I bought some garlic from them a couple of months ago and did a Spring planting. I already have shoots coming up and I am so excited about trying fresh garlic. Excellent website, easy to use, fair pricing, good choice of products and packaging was AAAA+++. I'm so excited about this place, I've already started looking to decide which products I want to plant from them in the Fall. The best!

At a time when most other online retailers were out of the garlic varieties I wanted, The Garlic Store had them all in stock. I placed my order on Oct. 1st and it arrived on Oct. 5th. All of the bulbs were very healthy and VERY large. They even sent me a cute little thank you gift for my order. I will absolutely do business with The Garlic Store again next year. Their website had a wide selection to choose from and they even offered some great sampler packs. Judging by their speedy shipping, great quality and large selection, I would highly recommend them to others.

I ordered an assortment, and was very happy both with the selection they chose for me, and with the condition (and size) of the garlic. Every single clove I planted last fall has come up already. They were happy to answer questions and were helpful. I will be ordering from them again.

I ordered some hardneck garlic and some elephant garlic from this place this fall. I recieved the garlic and it was very healthy and VERY large. The head of elephant garlic was about the size of a softball. Ordering was very easy on the web, and they have a great selection. Pending the garlic grows as well as it looked, I will order from them again.

I ordered a sampler - all of the bulbs were firm, healthy and fresh. Five of them were very large and the 6th a moderate size (it may have been a variety that naturally makes smaller bulbs). The bulbs were well packaged and protected for shipping, and they included clear planting instructions. And the biggest surprise - they didn't cash my check until they actually shipped the bulbs. (This is a common practice for credit cards, but rarely will a merchant do the same for checks.) The only room for improvement would have been if they sent an order acknowledgement, since I ordered more than a month before the bulbs were ready to ship - but this wasn't really a problem, since they replied very quickly (the same day) when I e-mailed to make sure they'd received my order. They seem like nice people, too!

On April 1st, 2005, AS added the following: All of the cloves sprouted and are growing well. It also looks like all of them survived the winter.

Last fall we ordered a pound of Polish hardneck planting stock very late in the season (most everything was sold out). The staff was very friendly on the phone and gave us some advice about which variety to plant. Our order arrived on time, well-packed, and with explicit planting instructions. The garlic bed came up beautifully! Because of our success, we are ordering four more varieties this year (all organic) and expanding our crop. I highly recommend them, especially to people who are new to garlic growing.
