We are Tennessee Wholesale Nursery (A division of D&T Wholesale Nursery). We have shipped plants to over 1600 industry companies,so when this website was brought to my attention,8 negatives out of 1600 customers is awesome. Most of the negative I have thoroughly researched and noticed the majority of the negative feedback parties are not in the nursery business at all.We are wholesale to the trade. Most business to business relationships are resolved in a good manner, simply following a policy. Our online policy can be examined at http://www.tnnursery.net .None of the negative responce individual's returned or refused the damaged or un-acceptable products back for a refund or replacement. We are strickly wholesale to the trade and 7 of the negatives are from individuals are not licensed by their state department of agriculture to even buy wholesale.I have contacted a few customers asking for some good feedback to neutralize the negatives,3 of my customers registered for an account and could not find how to get to the "watchdog section" to give us proper feedback.I registered each and posted their comments for them. The rest mastered your site well enough to do it themselves.

After commiserating on a Native Habitat Facebook group with others about our mutual poor experience with TN Wholesale Nursery, I was inspired to share my experience here. I once ordered 100 1 year old bareroot seedlings and what arrived was a quart sized ziplock bag of seeds that had sprouted just days before. I tried to contact them about it and never received a response.

Ordered 10 daylily tubers and received 10 tiny shriveled up old sad barely alive tubers. If any of the tubers do survive it will be years before they are big enough to flower. I should have realized they were a rip off company since 2 of the photos posted on the daylily page are aztec lilies. What kind of nursery doesn’t even know their own product! I do not recommend this company and will never do business with them again.

My morning is filled with gratitude as I watch my plants flourish. I made the best purchase of my life last season, and the outcome excites me. I'm in awe of the flowering heirloom plants that have brightened my space. You have excellent, healthy products that inspire both gardeners and growers. In time for my gardener's group meeting, my friends will undoubtedly make purchases at TN nursery. Many thanks, TN nursery, you are the best choice ever made. I

I had the best time shopping at Tennessee nursery. My first purchase was extremely satisfactory due to your excellent customer service when I purchased a variety of seedlings of various species. It was initially challenging to locate a few additional seedlings to complete my purchase, but you have the most considerate and patient staff who assists me in achieving my procurement goal.I attribute the friendly responses I receive from your end to a well-rounded sales unit and skilled agricultural specialists. More importantly, the TN nursery serves as a beacon for affordable and trustworthy finds.

Awful company that is a total rip-off. I’d ordered some plants and received a zip lock bag full of rotted week old seedlings that were mashed together. Company refused to give a refund. Stay away from this dishonest company and their affiliates.

Posted on July 28, 2011, updated July 28, 2011 Posted on July 23, 2011, updated July 28, 2011 Posted on July 12, 2011, updated July 23, 2011 I purchased 400 2-year old boysenberry plants from TN Nursery and have extensive experience with berry plants. However, I received 363 starter blackberry plants approximately 6 months old. 90% arrived dead and all the plants were in a 12" square box with no terasorb to keep the roots moist or any protection whatsoever. The roots were dry as a bone, stems brown and brittle, etc. The plants were not fresh dug. Researching the company indicates it is essentially a multi-tiered Straw-Man corporation shielding each facet of it's operation from the other. My credit card was charged by Tammy and Sons Logging and all calls to them or TN Nursery were never returned. It took months before I was able to get my money returned via a chargeback. I had recommended a friend purchase 400 boysenberry plants at the same time and he received 400 2-year old blackberries. These were packaged with terasorb and shipped properly, however they were the wrong plants and all the roots and lower stems were infested with crown borers and nematodes. He called the same day and Tammy told him to throw away the blackberries and expect a replacement order. I advised him to return the plants anyway and assisted him in having Fedex pick them up for return within the 24 hour TN Nursery deadline. The replacement order arrived and they were also blackberries, but these were 1-year plants also infested with crown borers. The tags had been marked as boysenberries, but are easily distinguished from any blackberry. Considering all 3 orders were wrong, I choose to assume based on the facts at hand that TN Nursery thought that most or almost all buyers wouldn't know the difference. TN Nursery claims to be State inspected and I'm certain they are, but they no doubt have contracts with many growers and clearly not all of them are being inspected. The experiences we've had with this company are horrible to say the least. TN continually hides behind the fact that the majority of their mail order customers are out of State and unable to sue their company. Moreover, once a problem occurs they allege that they only sell to wholesale State registered nurseries, and that a customer has no warranty of merchantibility whatsover, even if the company sends the wrong plants. Every customer who does business with this company essentially becomes a victim the moment they give their credit card info, and are at their sole mercy of TN Nursery, IF, they in their discretion want to make the order right. What is more surprising though is that TN Nursery specifically says on their website that anyone placing a minimum $150.00 order is welcome purchase at their wholesale prices, but apparently it is up to the consumer to read the fine print wherin the 24-hour guarantee will not apply to them. TN Nursery and it's other DBA's have been investigated countless times and the sheer volume of complaints with the Better Business Bureau are shocking. TN has become quite adept at skillfully wording and changing their web pages to avoid being shut down, and they will bully a customer to death every chance they get. My own credit card company had a very difficult time with them and I was on the phone many times and had to send several legnthy letters of appeal. Recently I've been getting emails from TN Nursery offering to pay me $5.00 to leave false positive feedback on various gardening websites, in addition to offers of free advertising on their site if I will leave positive comments as directed. I am stunned to say the least. In tracking TN Nursery over the last 1 1/2 years I have seen quite a few of these false positives from other customers and have even seen quite a few posted on this forum as well. Many positive comments are actually posted by TN Nursery staff who register an email address and user ID with Dave's Garden Forum, posing as customers, just to post enough positives to try and offset the negatives! Although this forum seems to catch most of the false positives and convert them to neutrals, I would like to meet just one customer who was really happy with their purchase. I honestly don't know anyone. Rather than badger and intimidate customers, and deny chargebacks for constantly wrong orders and dead plants and trees, it would seem to be easier to fix the problem. Why can't TN Nursery supervise their own growing fields and the others they contract with; so that their customers get the right plants in good health the first time? It is illogical to think they would prefer to argue and risk alienating so many customers, that eventually the Tennessee State Attorney General's Office closes them. Off course, even then they can transfer the assets under a new corporate name and family relatives and be back in business in about 1 week.

On July 23rd, 2011, hobbit7 added the following: Today I was threatened by a Susan Green via email who claims to be a legal adviser for TN Nursery, stating that I need to remove my negative comment or I will be sued for defamation and slander. My comments are not slanderous; as any attorney or legal adviser would know. Written statements posted on a private web forum for the benefit of PRIVATE member fellow gardeners; who must register to post; would have to be blatantly false and deliberately injurious with malice, AND be openly and publicly distributed for any potential libel claim to have any possible merit. Objective comments and facts which are posted by an actual purchaser and victim are not libel or defamation, they are the truth, and are also protected free speech under the 1st Amendment. After looking at my receipt today, I actually purchased 501 plants. Understating my original damages and losses is not actionable by TN Nursery against me. Obviously though; as the injured party I have a claim against them; as do so many other posters. I should also have mentioned in my original posting that all the incorrectly sent blackberry plants had been ripped out of the ground, so most had no roots whatsoever. This leaves little doubt as to why they were dead on arrival. The crown borers and nematodes were just trying to eat like the rest of us. Needless to say, most of the few remaining survivors also subsequently died. Although I have deleted a number of TN Nurseries advertising emails over the past few months, I have many backed up in Outlook Express. I found one where TN Nursery is offering me $10 in credit, or free advertising on their site to post a positive comment. I will not speculate why they increased their offer from $5.00 to $10.00 for a positive rating. Susan Green's email also confirms that TN Nursery and Tennessee Wholesale Nursery are the same company. Cross checked posts on the web and Daves Garden forum; including response postings by TN Nursery staff indicate they also have DBAs under DNT Nursery, D & T Nursery, Quick-Growing-Trees.com, Fast Growing Trees, and Wholesale Native Plants. My credit card and emails to the company indicate they are also doing business as Tammy Sons, Tammy & Sons Logging, and Tammys Pools. Under the circumstances it would be very difficult do a search with the State of Tennessee to determine which of these numerous DBAs are valid businesses, and which are website businesses or aliases with no physical address; bringing in sales to Tennessee Wholesale. ( Note that 'Nursery' is now omitted from the business name), which the company stated on 7/22/11 is is their true legal name. Fortunately, I've saved most the dead plants and can take pictures to show what I received. I can also take pictures of the 6 struggling blackberry survivors along with actual boysenberry plants in my 2 patches. As the saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words" and a comparison is easy to do. The leaf color and count are different, as are the vines and thorns. Looking at TN Nurseries website today, it has changed substantially since I last visited it and I have copies of their original terms and website policies from my chargeback. At this time they have posted a BBB blue logo on their website from the Better Business Bureau, although they are not a member and have no affiliation or accreditation. I was even more shocked to read this in their current posted terms: Q:What If I Order and Then Try To Get A Chargback? A: Call us. We report all chargebacks to collections and after 30 days. we report to the 3 major credit bureaus as deliquent. This severly lowers your credit score as well as cripples your ability to get a loan, line of credit or a major credit card. Why would they need or want to threaten their customers in advance, and POST it on THEIR public website? If a company sends the right plants, the correct number ordered, and they're healthy, customers would not complain. Moreover, it is illegal for a company to turn over an account to collections when there is a valid dispute in process. Under the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act the collection agent and the company can then be sued for monetary damages by the customer. Customers also have the right to send a letter to the collection agency stating the reason for their chargeback, and that the collection agency is to have no further contact with them. It is called a 'cease comm' letter, and at that point the agency must return the account back to the alleged original creditor. Then the consumer can send their evidence and correspondence to the 3 Bureaus and ask that they remove the derogatory entries wrongfully placed on their credit reports. Sadly, 99%+ of consumers don't know their rights and are victimized by numerous companies every day, especially hospitals and credit cards. Companies just love it when a consumer tries to get a loan and has to pay money they don't owe to clear up their report immediately because they have no time at that point to legitimately dispute false derrogatories. It is estimated that more than half of all credit reports and negatives are false. A consumers best advice is to check their report yearly and dispute all misinformation so they avoid these problems or nip them in the bud. Obviously, phone and email communication normally resolves problems before they get out of hand. And as I've previously posted, sending the right plants, accurately counting them, and making sure they are healthy before shipment is a lot easier to do than arguing with a customer and citing no returns or refunds after the fact. My own situation mirrors virtually every other complaint on this site. Out of dozens of phone calls and emails I made and sent over a 2 month period following the receipt of my order, only 1 phone call went to the answering machine. In every other case I was told by the machine that it was full and could not accept messages. No emails were ever answered. It was only after filing the chargeback that 1 phone call was answered by a defiant woman who threatened to ruin my credit and that it was company policy to thouroughly deny all chargebacks, and that once a chargeback was filed that a customer would never get their order replaced and would be blocked from buying on their site entirely. However, when I called on different phone lines they were answered promptly and courteously by both the sales department and customer service, ready to take my order, or give advice on blueberries which I also inquired about. Caller ID, call screening, and call blocking are edged swords, but they should never be used to prevent customers from calling customer service after an order has arrived, and ultimately seeking what they actually ordered and paid for. I have pasted Susan's email for reference. The roots arrived in about a week or less. I planted them promptly, within 36 hours of arrival, watering as necessary. The roots seemed rather skimpy and dry to me upon arrival but I've never worked with bare root plants before so I relied upon TN Nursery's expertise in these matters based upon information gleaned from their website. When the vast majority of the roots failed to sprout within a reasonable amount of time I contacted Tammy Sons, president of Tennessee Wholesale Nursery who advised me by e-mail to give them another week, which I did. Of 300 roots only about 10% survived. This is nearly a 90% failure rate. I contacted Tammy at TN Nursery and explained the situation. She informed me she would make an exception to their 24 hour return policy and that I could get replacement roots if I dug up the nearly 270 dead bare roots and returned them to Tn Nursery. We're talking about dead roots, approximately 3-5" long and maybe 1/8" inch diameter, buried in dirt and covered in mulch spread over half an acre. There is no way I could find and dig up these dead roots. I was repeatedly told by Tammy and Dennis by e-mail that the only way they would replace the dead roots was if I returned the dead roots which was just not feasible. At this point, in frustration I informed Tammy I would keep the dead roots, they could keep my money, over $200.00, and not to bother with replacing the dead roots. I also informed them I would make it my mission to get the word out to potential customers, growers, and nursery/garden center owners throughout the U.S. about my experience with Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. I have begun my mission here. What I got in response to my e-mail was a threatening e-mail from Tammy that I would be hearing from their attorneys for Slandering them and their company. I do not put up with bullying and intimidation from anyone. My national e-mail campaign begins soon. Unfortunately, I failed to research this company before doing business with them. If I had I wouldn't be writing this message. YOU SHOULD RESEARCH CAREFULLY BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH TENNESSEE WHOLESALE NURSERY.

I would first like to point out that if Susan Green was in fact a legal professional she should know the difference between slander and libel. If you have also received this threatening e-mail please post it to your original comments about this business. It helps show the gardening community the lengths this individual will go to to threaten and intimidate people with legitimate concerns about Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. Also, isn't it interesting how at least 7 new positive postings about Tennessee Wholesale Nursery have suddenly appeared on this site in the past 3 days. What are the odds of that many people finding this site on their own and deciding to post glowing reviews about the same business at the exact same time?
On July 26th, 2011, Scammed added the following: Fellow Gardeners, Recently. I filed a complaint against Tn Wholesale Nursery with the Chattanooga, Tn Better Business Bureau. In a recent e-mail to them I suggested the BBB visit this site to get an understanding of how customers of Tn Wholesale Nursery are actually treated. Then, within a very few days over 50 positive reviews of Tn Wholesale Nursery magically appeared. The friendly folks at Dave's Garden determined these positive reviews to be bogus and downgraded them to neutral. This deceptive practice by Tn Wholesale Nursery which, by the way, has been tried in the past, is just one more indication of the lengths Tn Wholesale Nursery will pursue in an attempt to cover up their true nature.
On October 18th, 2011, Scammed added the following: In response to my negative review on Dave’s Garden I was sued by Tammy and Dennis Sons (doing business as Tennessee Wholesale Tree Nursery) for defamation and for damages in the amount of $13,000 plus court costs and attorney fees and the demand that I remove my negative review from this website. The 4-hour trial took place on September 27th, 2011 in General Sessions Court in Grundy County Tennessee. Both Plaintiff and Defendant were represented by counsel. After deliberating for over a week, the judge delivered the following verdict. The case against me was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction in Tennessee and because plaintiffs failed to establish a prima facie case of defamation. The very next day, October 8, 2011 I received this e-mail from Dennis Sons: "Due to the verdict,if we can not work out a refund and request a written email removal to admin@davesgarden.com of the comments on Daves Garden,we will escalate this to the General Sessions Court. If this doesn't work in our favor,we will hire an attorney in your county. This is our income like your job was your income before your retirement. I'd like to work with you one on one.Attorney's fees are expensive for both of us.We will mail you a money order for the refund if you will give us a written statement that you will remove these comments from Davesgarden.com upon verification and receival of the refund. You can have it notarized. The sad thing was Tammy said you seemed like an honest man. This makes no sense to fight this out when we are willing and you should be also to end this." I DID NOT RESPOND TO THIS THREAT! The deadline for Tennessee Wholesale Nursery to appeal this decision. i.e., escalate to a higher court, was October 17, 2011. No such appeal was filed. So, after I made the long trip from Maryland to Tennessee and spent thousands of dollars defending myself from this lawsuit, the nursery offered me a refund of what I assume to be the $220.30 to cover the cost of my initial purchase and then threatened me yet again with further lawsuits if I did not accept their terms and remove my post. ’Nuf said. I had a friend of mine recommend TN Wholesale Nursery for my new plants that I wanted to plant in my yard. I needed to put in a new privacy hedge all around my fence line. So I needed a lot! Now I completely trust my friends word, but I always have to look into a company before ordering something. And of course I looked at ratings, and WOW I seen ALL these negative comments about this business and was a little hesitant, but my friend insisted that they were an A+ company and to give them a try. So I did. I am SO glad that I took my friends' word about this company, they are definitely an A++ company for ordering plants from. They arrived in a timely manner, were well packaged, and they are doing great! I would recommend them to anyone and would order from them again! Thanks!!

I just wanted to share some of my positive experiences that I have had with Tennessee Wholesale Nursery over the years... First, I think very highly of them. I have been ordering from them for about 5 years now. Over the years my orders keep getting larger, and I am always very pleased with the results. I have ordered all types of plants and trees from them, flowering trees, ground cover, ornamentals, etc, but my orders have been consistently high-quality. I am very pleased with the, and would not even think of ordering from another company.

I strongly recommend Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. I have been shopping directly from them for quite some time now, and have truly enjoyed all of my plants. I have not had any problems with them, I have been very pleased. When I have called them to ask them about some plants for sale, they have always been very nice and informed.

When I ordered my 300 Rubus Ideaus - Red Raspberry I was hoping they would arrive in good shape, and they did! The ordering was very smooth, and the delivery just as smooth. Tennessee Wholesale Nursery is the place where I will continue to go to for all of my wholesale fruit plants in the future. I completely trust them with my orders.

Awesome company! Tennessee Wholesale Nursery is my favorite wholesale plant retailer out there! I first ordered from them many years ago, I think it was something like 200 blackberry plants, and we were not familiar with them at the time. But, the order went smoothly and the customer service was very good, and I was very pleased with the plants. So the over the course of the following years, I ordered many plants from them. I have consistently received great prices on great plants. Only once was there a small mistake on one of my orders, but they remedied the error very promptly. But for all the orders and all the plants I have ordered from them, I have been overly happy and pleased with all my plants and Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. Tennessee Wholesale Nursery is a company that you can trust, and depend on for consistent quality. There are too many companies out there that just do not care about their customers, and that is unfortunate. I really appreciate that Tennessee Wholesale Nursery makes me feel appreciated and wanted, and that they truly care about plants. I can tell when a company really cares about their plants, and TN Wholesale Nursery truly cares about their plants. These guys have been around for many years, and I am glad that I am able to order my plants from such a special company. I will continue to order my plants from what I consider to be the #1 plant wholesaler out there, Tennessee Wholesale Nursery. They are a company you can trust.

I must say that I was taken aback reading some of the 'negative comments' regarding TN Nursery, et al. As Confucius might say, 'sometime in your life, you will have a bad hair day. Make sure it is your day and not pass it on to others'. I feel justified in stating that I have had and, still do, a professional relationship with TN Nursery and, in particular, with Tammy for several years. My experience has always be very good and their professionalism makes it a pleasure to have dealings with them. It is my considered opinion that one cannot find a better online nursery for quality service and products than TNNursery.net.
