Notes

We carry rare and unusual/not-frequently-seen plants, with a focus on plants from the continents of the Southern Hemisphere. Millions of years ago, those continents were joined into a single landmass called Gondwana, which gradually broke up into the southern lands that we know today as South America, New Zealand, Australia, New Guinea, various Pacific Islands, and even (early on) Africa and India.Gondwana plants are of special interest to us (i.e. plants whose ancestors evolved prehistorically in the Gondwanan landmass, but were since gradually carried to varied distant locations when the landmass broke up into the various Southern continents). Many Gondwana natives are remarkably cold tolerant and grow very well in the US. All are quite beautiful and very useful in landscaping (not just as curiosities for the collector). Our interactive price list can be found at our website and is updated daily for selection and availability. In virtually every case, each plant name in our price list is a *clickable* link to a specific, descriptive page dedicated to that specific plant, and containing detailed cultural and other useful tidbits regarding it. Since August of 1999 we have implemented several upgrades to our site, including: *Secure online Credit Card ordering* New selections from our propagation program* Addition of many photographs and detailed plant-descriptive pagesWe are working on development of a brand new website, which will be database-oriented, searchable, and hopefully easier to use, but we don't expect to implement if until later in 2000. Everyone is welcome to come for a peek at our site, customers and window shoppers alike. We do not have any advertising, we've kept the graphics to a minimum, and our site should (!) load quickly and easily. We'd very much appreciate feedback on how we can do things better or differently (some of the feedback we've already received has been enormously helpful).

I ordered from Gondwanaland Trading Company in late September 2018. Their website took my money, but they are not returning my emails or my phone calls or shipping me plants. It's been well over 10 days now. Scottsoden@comcast.net, Scott Soden who runs the company, appears to also run a landscaping business in California (Artscapes Landscapes), and that business appears to be open and with positive reviews on Yelp. So no idea what this guy is up to....?

Gondwana Gardens' founder died fall 2000 and the home page suggests they are in hiatus.

I'd like to second the previous comment; GW was VERY helpful; shipped good quality plants promptly and followed up by phone and email to ensure satisfaction. Highest recommendations.

I have ordered from Gondwana Gardens twice and they have my highest recommendation. They carry plants that nobody else carries in the U.S. (e.g. Agathis, many Araucaria species, lots of other very rare stuff), their prices are very reasonable, plant quality is superb as is packaging, shipping charges are reasonable and David (the propietor) is most helpful by e-mail and over the phone. You cannot go wrong with them.
