Notes

The species I offer are quite unique and many are to be found nowhere else. I am the Vice President of the International Palm Society and run a very reputable, although small, nursery.

I recently ordered a mixture of palms and cycads. (Quite a variety to choose from!). I worked with Phil by both by e-mail and phone. Very helpful. All of my plants were shipped the same day--California to Georgia. The box was pretty beat up, but the plants came out pristine. A testament to great packing considering they were all sent in pots and not bare root. Overall I was very happy with the service and the size/quality of the plants were great.

I have bought several plants (Palms and Philodendrons) from Jungle Music over the past couple of years and all have been healthy and very well grown and cared for. With the proper acclimation, they take to the ground very well in my warmer climate and none of the plants I have bought from Jungle Music have died. Phil is always helpful with finding me nice plants, emailing pics of them and letting me know what's available before I even head out to the nursery. No complaints at all and I'm sure I'll be buying more from Jungle Music in the near future.

Nursery has an amazing assortment of plants and some very hard to find species. Phil is very approachable and nice but: - all plants are grown indoor and they do not acclimate well even when planted out early - prices are SUPER high - all specimes I bought perished (over $900.00) and interestingly enough when I bought same species somewhere else, they made it - I talked to Phil on the phone and he had said that my plants would be replaced. When I went there the younger guy said they do not such thing. I cut my losses and moved on. Given how plants are grown, the replacements would've died anyhow. Though i like Phil and the selection, you can do much better elsewhere... Jungle Jack's for instance.

Purchased hybrid/mule palms from Jungle Music. PROS: Friendly, responsive owner. Plant quarantine, health, phytosanitary certificate is provided (extra cost). Small bonus plant enclosed. Well packaged and shipped in original pots. CONS: One palm arrived mislabeled (wrong kind), another palm was not labeled at all and is probably a wrong kind as well. Invoice shows the right palms shipped, but the physical label in the pot of the palm says it's a different kind! Prices are way higher than anywhere else. Shipping costs are also much higher than usual. Both prices and shipping are as high as three times than elsewhere.

Jungle Music is top notch. Thankfully I live close enough to visit in person (Temecula, CA), and am very impressed with the selection, quality, and service that Phil and his staff provided to me. I recently purchased a handfull of both palms and cycads and all were in excellent condition. Phil is very knowldgeable and is very willing to help. I will visit them again.

Probably the largest selection of palms in SoCal, but JDAndersen is close. Staff is helpful, and usually provides good advice. Also, plants are generally in good health. The website is fantastic, and has a lot of good information about growing palms. I do have a couple minor complaints though. The first is that MOST of the sizes/species listed on the website are NOT in stock, at least for the less common palms; and sometimes it's difficult to find the palm you want even if they do have it in stock. Also, prices tend to be higher than average. Finally, I've had problems with the salesperson giving me one price when we do find the palm, then a different price is given at the register.

Jungle Music is, quite simply, an outstanding business establishment. It has a great selection of rare and unusual plants (palms & cycads), and its owner - Phil Bergman - is a real thinking man who'd gladly avail himself and his sound business judgement to JM's patrons and potential customers. Moreover, the JM crew will bag and wrap (or box) your purchases and load your vehicle. Last, but not least, considering the rarity of some of their offerings, prices are more than reasonable. So, all in all, a great place to visit and to do business with. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the highest), I'd give it a ... 6!

Great supply of palms- good place to visit and Phil is very experienced- knows more about palms in southern California than just about anyone. Prices may be high, but his plants are in excellent condition.

Jungle Music is w/o a doubt the best ( & sometimes only ) online company for those hard to find palms. Every palm I have ordered from Jungle Music has arrived very healthy and well packed. Phil is very knowledgable and is always available for advice. In addition he is a very honest businessman who truly believes in great customer service. Jungle Music is the only online source I will order from for any palm or cycad. Great company

I have some bad experiences with some mail order / online palm retailers so I was extremely leery to purchase any more plants online. I had accidentally run across Jungle Music's website and it caught my attention. I sent Phil an e-mail asking about some specific palms and he promptly answered me. He was extremely courteous and professional. So I figured I'd take my last chance at mail order palms and start with a small order. To my extreme delight and pleasure the palms arrived when I was told they would and in excellent condition. I was extremely impressed with their packaging it was flawless and meticulous. I was so pleased that I placed a second order which arrived today and again my expectations were exceeded. It is such a pleasure to deal with Phil and Jesse at Jungle Music. They are very helpful, take great pride in what they do and they have excellent palms. I would recommend Jungle Music Palms & Cycads highly and can confidently say without a doubt that they are one of the finest nurseries in the US. It is a pleasure to deal with individuals like them and I will continue to do business with them. (This comment was completely unsolicited and I have no financial alliance or commercial interest with Jungle Music, other than being a loyal customer)

I bought several expensive palms from this company. The person who helped me put my order together (I believe it was the owner) was very helpful and very honest in his recommendations even though it meant I spent less money with him. The prices are high, but the plants are relatively large for a mail order. My plants were shipped all the way from California to New York. The roots were lovely and the plants were carefully packed which insured that they were in good condition even after the long voyage. This is a great company with an impressive list of plants.

a lot of neat plants, but who wants to have to spend $200? Prices [are] outrageous.
